    You guys who are persevering with April even though their customer service is poor, why do you think their claim procedure will be any better? usually with insurance companies customer service is good, claims is very slow, doesn't bode well

    Yes, generally they use govt rate, you pay direct which is around 4 baht a unit, apartments usually charge 8 baht but I've seen 10

    I went to Pattaya City Emergency when i had a dog bite, for rabies injections, i wanted to check out the A&E area, it seemed very quiet, sleepy and best avoided. I'd expect Bang Lamung to at least have good experience and be relatively busy and being govt, probably average facilities

    Not really, I'm a golfer, only ever seen a couple who cheated a little bit with dodgy drops, the other thousands were ok

    Most farang i know are good guys with a few exceptions. If i go for a quiet drink in a bar to watch the world go by i generally try to avoid conversation with other farang, if someone dodgy sits next to me the earphones go on. A few days ago a crazy Dane sat next to me, he said "I'm a crazy Dane" i said i know

    In Pattaya most falang are taken to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, maybe they pay the most but also have the best private facilities and experience, i doubt Memorial or Int'l or Pattaya City can handle major emergencies

    The word on the street is it's very difficult to open an account on a tourist visa or visa exempt. The best is Bangkok Bank 2nd road by top of soi 6. If they say cannot then see an agent as recommended above
