I think this is the same one i have. You can cast from your phone or tablet to the TV, easier if they are Samsung if not should still be able to. Can also control YouTube from phone if you prefer. Load some TV apps. No need for a box

You don't seem to be referring to the app, but on website mine was already set to English but still lots of Thai -
Yep although depends on age if worthwhile, younger the better. 50s and early 60s makes sense financially
