Phuket’s Crime-Free Project Nabs Over 1,000 Foreigners for Visa Overstay

A mishmash of information if ever there was ... least of all defining what a foreigner actually is ... my money is mainly illegal foreign workers. -

Thailand's Election Commission Probes Pitha's ITV Shares
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is a litmus test for his ability to be PM. If he loses and then gets disqualified over a breach of very clear rules then he would unlikely be a capable leader to weather the ongoing onslaught of Thai politics for the next few years. If he left himself vulnerable like this at the start with all the legal advisors around him ... then it is a self-inflicted mistake. I hope not .... but you can yield no ground in this game. -
Competition will eventually punch their proverbial ticket. Driverless cabs, on test and in use in other parts of the world will sort them out. No-one to intimidate or beat up. A robot on wheels powered by AI. Fast, efficient, safe and standard pricing. Sadly, it will take out a few "good guys" as well. It will be the end of the crazy van drivers as well. Two birds with one stone.

He lost his freedom the moment he took the life of another. He might not have been in prison since 2019 but his mind and every passing thought certainly has. On the run, always looking over his shoulder. No chance to meet to meet his daughter and now seemingly not in the best of health. His pigeons are coming home to roost.

Seems very hard to follow 2 simple self-imposed rules ......... 1. Get adequate insurance. 2. Don't do anything that risks breaking the insurance clause payouts ..... like riding a motor bike without a proper license and/or not wearing safety equipment .... both as required by the law .... I wish him a well in his recovery.

Hmmm ... I think I would keep any contentious political agenda like breaking the duopoly a little quiet until actually in power. There is no guarantee that Move Forward will secure leadership yet. Me thinks that the horse trading and double dealing has a long way to go and provocation is unlikely to help matters.

It ain't boding too well for the cannabis supporters and trade .... most of the news are carrying consistent negative social news articles. Its a growing trend. This genie may be stuffed back into the bottle whence it came. Wait and see. -

Thailand’s experiment with weed goes up in smoke
IamNoone88 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I looked at this business closely prior to the de-criminalisation and then again after. Not on a retail level but as commercial cultivation as a cash crop. Done right it had good potential. However, the legislation was a mess and no where close to what I understood was intended. There just too much free interpretation of the law or lack of it. Under such circumstances, better to wait for clarity. Either your investment could potentially be gone or, perhaps worse, open up to be squeezed by breaking a law. Neither were appealing as potentially worse outcomes. And no .. I don't touch the stuff - it was simply an attractive sector worth consideration and even less so now. -
Suspected murderer of Thai-British teen attacked during re-enactment
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
I pause to wonder why this unfortunate kid was not in the UK getting an education vs living in a village and then allegedly and very sadly got involved in running drugs for the guy that ultimately confessed to murdering him? -

Good job by the RTP for catching this guy. Bad job by the prison authorities for releasing this habitual criminal who crimes just escalated. RIP kid .... you made some bad decisions and sadly paid the ultimate price.- 87 replies
