Thaksin Dismisses US Sanctions Over Uyghur Deportations
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
But, the US embassy in Thailand already claimed that they had offered this several times and refused by Thailand. Also, there is the issue that Thailand did this to appease China with their fears of repercussions being made against Thailand by China. -
Government Under Fire Over Rama II Construction Accidents
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The government should. have their own workers there daily to ensure compliance with safety regulations are followed. Without anyone there to enforce the rules, it opens the door to allow an anything goes that we can get away with policy. Sure the company is at fault for this. The government also needs to accept responsibility though because they are not ensuring the safety protocols are being followed. -

Foreigner Assaults Thai Man in Road Rage Incident in Pattaya
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Yes. Thanks for the update. I knew there had to be a catch to this happening that Thai media either ignored or twisted to make it appealing. It is a shame how media does this and yes, i agree about it feeding the public bigotry and inciting hatred. It also serves the government who read and watch the news and believe what they see as fact then act out on it against all foreigners in Thailand. -
Foreigner Assaults Thai Man in Road Rage Incident in Pattaya
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I agree. Something is surely missing from the story and the video shown. What would make the foreigner fighting this way. What happened before the video started. The foreigner does not appear drunk and i suspect if he was the police would have arrested him. The VDO is a prime example as to why Thais do not enter a fight alone. They attack in groups so their numbers can make a positive impact. -
Motorbike Clash: Tourist and Ladyboy Tussle on Pattaya Streets - video
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Surely you jest. A slap is a mans invited to deck their asses. In older times a slap was considered an invitation to fight. As far as I am concerned the ladyboy assaulted him and he has every right to lay her out flat in defense. That is not some woman bitch slapping him. He should have punched the ladyboy instead of pushing him away. Why haven't the police filed assault charges against the ladyboy? That looks like the entrance to walking street where there should be many cops. Pattaya is surely not some family friendly place to bring your kids. -
Good Op.. i wish those in the US who criticize Trumps agenda against the universities read well and try to understand this is what happens in those Unis also. I think the UK needs to follow Trumps footsteps and get the Unis there to take action to end the propoganda for the terrorists.

My workout has given me great cardio. I sweat out a lot of fluids every day. Burn off more calories than jogging. My heart pumps fast enough during my workout to push anything that does not belong out of my veins. It provides me with less chances of prostrate cancer or other problems in that area. It utilizes muscles and stretches them as well as giving them a workout. And I can do it all with a smile on my face. I try to do this workout at least 2 times a day and I am 60 years old strong. I would do the workout more if my wife allowed me but she says i tire her out too much. Sexercise is the best.

Jealous Ex Attacks Korean Man with Machete in Pattaya Condo
thesetat replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
I guess the girl got angry she may have been losing her meal ticket to a younger girl. hmm.. Now she does not need to worry about that mealticket since they serve food in jail. Hope the korean turns out ok... -
The parents need to be arrested and charged with their part in this incident. Allowing such your teens out so late should be a crime in itself. Raising them to be in gangs and hurting others also needs to be addressed. Too many parents or caregivers simmply do not care and do not impose rules for the children to follow to keep them safe. Something really needs to be done about this in Thailand... It is getting out of hand.

I can not say for sure but this sounds more like a made up story to cover their own butts. I seriously doubt the men paid them to serve drink at 330 in the morning. And I have doubts the ladyboys were in the car screaming to stop with them so scared. The person who chased them down and forced them to stop should be given a very big thank you from the family and police. These guys might have fled the country if they managed to escape.

Thailand Defends Uyghur Repatriation Amid US Criticism
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You are somewhat mistaken though. The world knows. But the average Thais do not know all the story. My Thai wife thinks these were illegals who entered for finding work and started working in phone scams.. This is the type of news being fed in Thai language and the rumors spread in social media. She had thought these people were all scammers for many years caught and supported by the Thai Gov while waiting in prisons to finishe their sentences for their crimes and now they were sent back to their country. These are the types of lies being fed to the locals. When i told my wife the truth, she was shocked and appalled. -
Thai Student Moves Schools Amid Vaping-Related Violence
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
I understand how you feel.. My daughter tells us there are children in her school that are only 10 years or 11 years old vaping at the school. It is shocking that these kids are doing it at such a young age here. -
Thaksin Refutes Claims of Targeting Pro-Bhumjaithai Senators
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If anyone knows how to vote buy. Thaksin would be the one to go to for sure. So it makes sense he has found out about others doing things the way he would and calling them out for it. -
Just in the news.. Trump has placed sanctions on Thailand for deporting those Uyghurs back to China. Probably also because Thailand supposedly lied saying no country made offers to accept them when the US Embassy in Thailand claims to have made several offers for this. https://www.reuters.com/world/us-sanction-thai-officials-over-deportation-uyghurs-china-2025-03-14/ https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2980485/thai-officials-face-us-visa-curbs-over-uyghur-deportations

If getting your visa legal tobe in Thailand.then i suggest you get a lawyer and sign the documents for divorce and the document granting him authority to act in your name for this... Pay the lawyer and leave without returning. This way you avoid having to be in a court room or amphur as an illegal in the country. The lawyer can sort it out with a fee.

Do you consider yourself smarter than the average Thai?
thesetat replied to Robert_Smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I never said that... The comment was legit and not dumb really. The Thais are smart in things that matter to them at the time.. Perhaps smarter than alot of foreigners. But as for intelligence, I think they just do not care to learn or know anything that is not inside their circle of what they do daily. Even their social media habits do not utilize anything for learning more. -
Hehe you are not kidding. When i drive through there I am always on the lookout for something that may drop in front of me. There are no ways to avoid driving that though. This road has been a nightmare for several years already and it seems that more accidents are occuring now than before. Perhaps due to rushing the work or incompetence in the construction but it does not really matter anymore. Nothing will happen with any investigation. Payments will be made albeit small ones with the workers injured and construction will continue. I do worry though about the integrity of the road when it is finished. Will it be safe to drive on if it is not even safe when building it?

Do you consider yourself smarter than the average Thai?
thesetat replied to Robert_Smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Generally, Thais are smarter when it comes to things about Thai culture and Thai interaction. But as for worldly knowledge they lack this almost entirely. Ask them what causes the tides and they will look dumbfounded. Thais do know about how to use technology but lack understanding how it works. They are not taught many things that are common learning in 1st world countries. Also, their history taught changes through the years and is adjusted to show their leaders and kings in a good light. So it is not accurate. So who is smarter would depend on what type of smarter you are seeking an answer for. -
I seriously doubt you care about Freedom of Speech in this matter. You use any topic to complain about Trump. American citizens are granted the rights under the amendment to give them freedom of speech. This man is not an American citizens and does not have this right. He is a foreigner and must adhere to the rules of his stay as a foreigner. Just like you do in Thailand.

The video seems misleading as to there was nothing visible to give reason for the officers to even hit the man once, let alone many times after he was subdued. In the video it looks like police abusing their authority by violently attacking the man, which we all know would never happen in Thailand haha..
