Thailand's Digital Card Chaos: Say Goodbye to TM6, Hello to Confusion!
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Regardless of the arguments in the replies about the world becoming digital. Has any foreigner ever found a consistent working app made by Thais that does not have problems or creates more problems then prior to its use? -
BREAKING NEWS Skyscraper comes down in Bangkok earthquake
thesetat replied to MalcolmB's topic in Bangkok News
I am curious.. Where is the leader of the country during this natural disaster? She has not made any comments or expressed any regrets to what happened or the lives lost from it. In any civilized world the leader would be making speeches showing their sympathy and support for rescue and organizing relief.. Perhaps she is hiding under daddy's table worried another quake will hit... She has not made one statement or shown herself since the quake hit. -
US Revokes 300 Student Visas in Crackdown on Campus Protests
thesetat replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Ok so the next time there is a protest at your Embassy or in Thailand against the Gov. We will all see you standing there outspoken and causing havoc. These people were guests in the USA. They violated their rules for their visas. They need to be kicked out. The same would happen to you if you did this in Thailand -
British Expats' Thai Villa Xanax Empire Lands them in Jail

A slap on the wrist... I am most sure if i was offered this much money to get only 4 to 6 years in prison, that i would surely be tempted. They will be among the wealthy once released from prison. -
Thailand Considers Shortening Visa-Free Stays for Chinese Tourists
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ohh.. I seem to recall TAT saying Chinese tourism numbers are down. The New Year the Chinese preferred Japan. So how can it be about aligning the tourist wave? -
Thai Govt Frets as Uyghur Issue Jolts EU Trade Talks
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Of course their standards follow international guidelines. Except in this case hmm.... I hope the EU and the USA put sanctions against Thailand simply for their lies about all of this situation. -
Live update in BBC.... https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c4gex01m7n5t In Bangkok, 70 construction workers now missing at site of collapsed buildingpublished at 17:43 17:43 While the earthquake we're reporting on happened in Myanmar, it was felt in and has heavily affected Thailand, where we're also getting continuous updates. In Thailand's capital Bangkok, 70 construction workers are now missing at the site of a collapsed building site, the National Institute for Emergency Medicine in Thailand says - having earlier reported there were 43 people feared missing. In a post on Facebook, it adds there were around 320 workers on the site at the time of the collapse, and 20 are trapped in the lift shafts. The number of deaths is unclear, and a field hospital has been set up at the scene as rescuers continue to look for survivors. We'll bring you more on this when we have it.

Thai Family Discovers Funeral Mistake: Son Alive in Hospital
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
So the hospital plays it off nonchalantly.. there should be a lawsuit for mental duress caused by the hospitals inability to identify the body then releasing the body to the wrong family. When if they were uncertain then tests should have been made to positively identify the body. Imagine the grief this hospital has caused on 2 families.. Not to mention the expense the family incurred preparing a funeral for their undead son. -
Thailand's Global Education Ranking Sparks Controversy and Scrutiny
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This guy is smart. If you do not agree with the test, change it to put you in a more favorable light. What he does not realize is that no matter how they change their data collection or testing. It will still not change the fact that their teaching system is severely flawed. Thailand education budget is the 2nd highest than all of the other departments in the ministries. But there is too much corruption at the starting point all the way down to the teachers. Their teaching methods are outdated and do not promote any self-thinking. The students are refrained from asking questions or offering suggestions other than what dance move they should try for the school show. About the worst in my opinion is that every kid passes. At every grade level. So there is no incentive to learn, No incentive to try and no incentive to achieve better scores as well as no accountability for students who do nothing. Schools are basically babysitters with someone at the front of the room dictating to them. -
Maxine Waters Targets Melania Trump in Fiery Speech

What gets me is that her ancestors were probably undocumented when they were brought over from Africa as slaves. Yet, she has the gall the comment about the Presidents wife? What a twisted world the Dems live in. -
Signal Texts Reveal White House’s Growing Resentment Toward Europe
thesetat replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Being an American... And looking at how the EU are turning their country inside out and allowing wokeism to control every aspect of living as well as their constant immigration problem. Also, seeing as how this is being controlled in Russia with Putin putting his foot down on wokeism and same sex relations as well as controlling illegal immigration problems. I would prefer to befriend Russia. Europe has changed a lot in their politics and look at their leaders... In every story and post about these problems their citizens are getting screwed over by them. I am by no means saying i trust Russia or Putin or want them for allies. But, your comment "love Russia" is very wrong. I think they love how Russia running their own country. Not meaning with the war situation. But in daily living. -
If true. Then get on with it. As long as they are leaving. Let Canada dal with the expense and hassle of kicking them out of their country. Because surely illegals are not permitted to stay inside the country if applying for Visas when entering their country illegally. The same it should have never been allowed under Biden. Also, if true, it saves the headaches of Taxpayers paying to fly them to their home country. As well as the bad press doing this seems to be generating when clearly it is the correct procedure to remove illegals from your country.

Transport Minister Denies Secret Multi-Billion Rail Deal Allegations
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I do not see why Thailand would need a high speed rail like China has. It is not a very big country. -
Thats how much the bar pays them. I am sure they provide other services for a fee.

Paetongtarn Triumphs! Censure Vote No Match for Pheu Thai Power
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Related to this topic. PM Paetongtarn accused of 218 million baht tax evasionhttps://thethaiger.com/news/national/pm-paetongtarn-accused-of-218-million-baht-tax-evasion?utm_source=Thaiger+Daily+EN&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2025-03-26 was also discussed in the voting of no confidence. I add this for the simple reason of showing the PMs intelligent replies during this meeting. In his opening speech to Parliament, Prawit accused Paetongtarn of failing to improve Thailand’s economy, which, he claimed, had led to increased domestic debt and a higher cost of living. He also voiced his opposition to the Pheu Thai Party’s proposal to establish an entertainment complex and casino. After about ten minutes of Prawit’s speech, the Thai premier stood up and gave a brief response. “I would like to say that what the senior member just said is not true. Thank you.” And that was all that was said. So perhaps someone can explain to me how she is still the PM? -
They should target the schools also for punitive damages since they allowed the propaganda and the students to do this without any repercussions until forced by losing their US funding. Protesting is one thing. Recruiting and taking over campuses or classroom as well as promoting terrorism is quite another.

Musk’s trans daughter: “Elon Musk Is a Pathetic Man-Child"
thesetat replied to Social Media's topic in World News
look at what happened though.. Trump got to be President making his son famous. He was not so extravagant prior to this. It is my thinking that publicity towards his gay side has created a monster and is encouraging him more to act out. -
Paetongtarn Triumphs! Censure Vote No Match for Pheu Thai Power
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
well, this step to oust her failed miserably. i do not understand how the people expected the PTP party members to vote against her staying in power. They are all controlled by Thaksin. I guess this is why she acted so nonchalantly the previous days without a care in the world.. Next step, riots and protests and rallies? -
Thailand's Ambitious Land Bridge Project Gains Global Interest
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You say that now. But Thailand may approve China doing it whilst getting into serious debts with them just to appease China. With the current admin and Thaksin running the show next to the PM. Nothing is impossible when it comes to deals with China.
