  1. Hmm. Kind of like closing a large air base, pulling the military out and then telling the civilians to come to the airport? "The Biden Strategy"?? Also, "it's not my fault".
  2. In what time frame did this doctor take 4 doses of Covid 19 Vaccines? The US CDC is recommending a 3rd dose for healthy individuals be given 8 months after the 2nd dose. All 3 doses of the same vaccine. This sounds risky? So again this medically trained doctor got inoculated with 4 different kinds of Covid 19 Vaccine in a short period of time? "the ultimate guinea pig"??
  3. "Antigen test is accepted for flying to the US. i did it last month." i am flying to the LAX with ANA. I received 4 emails and 2 text messages reminding me that I would need to have a RT-PCR test negative result at check-in. ANA appears to be somewhat confused and after two long phone calls to Tokyo I got a degree of clarification. ANA also wanted a Japanese Health Department Certification Form signed by the doctor who certifies the PCR lab report. ANA then clarified that the Japanese Health Department Certification is only required for those who are entering Japan(I only have a 2 hour connection). But in the end I was told "bring a RT-PCR negative report" at check-in. Anyway after these calls I booked a RT-PCR test in Chiang Mai.
  4. The problem with submitting an Anti-Gen Test at check-in is the airline employee might believe only a RT-PCR test is acceptable. I am checking in at BKK and at times communicating with any airline employee can be challenging. I prefer not to have issues at check-in.
  5. "Well, antibiotics are a therapeutic medicine and vaccines are not so they're not even remotely comparable. When it comes to flu vaccines though, in a couple of ways you are actually mixing different vaccines. Firstly, when you get a flu shot it's not a single vaccine, it's a combination of either 3 (trivalent) or 4 (quadrivalent) different vaccines. Secondly, each year the flu vaccines change depending on the different strains of flu expected to be in circulation, so from one year to the next you are also "mixing and matching" the different combinations of vaccines." Antibiotics have been fully approved for over 60 years or so. The Flu Vaccine(s) has also been studied and approved for many years. Covid 19 Vaccines have been in exitance for less than a year and the US Government has only given EUA(Emergency Use Authorization). AKA: These vaccines are experimental and I would risk only taking one specific type at this time.
  6. "Any vaccine is better than no vaccine, unless you prefer to stay locked inside your home for the next many months!" I said "mix and match" is not a good idea. If I was offered two doses of Astra Zeneca then I would be "onboard". Also, I should have my first dose of Pfizer in about 10 days. Of course it will be at a CVS Pharmacy in my old neighborhood in Southern California.
  7. "if you live that long" My expiration date should have been a while ago. I spent some time in places called Helmond, Jalabad, and Kabul and easily "my ticket" could have been punched there. But I am still vertical and never going to "mix and match" these experimental vaccines. I will take 2 or possibly 3 doses of just one Covid 19 Vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna).
  8. EVENKEEL, I am flying with ANA and longest wait time was about 10 minutes. I am going to a clinic in Chiang Mai for the RT-PCR and it is 3150 with same day result(at least this what they promise and soon I shall see??).
  9. I'm flying to LAX in two weeks. All I need are a valid passport and a Covid 19 RT-PCR test or an Anti-gen test within 3 days(not 72 hours) before departure flight from BKK.
  10. I turned the offer of Sinovac and then AstraZeneca 3 weeks later. The reasons are as this: 1. As a rule Pharmacists and Doctors have always told me never “mix and match” medications. This includes the same medicines that come from different manufacturers. If mixing and matching is so great then why don’t I mix and match Flu vaccines every year or mix and match different antibiotics? 2. Based upon what Israel has done and what the US government has just recommended, Covid 19 Boosters will be implemented in the near future. So if I got one does of Sinovac and 1 dose of AZ then what vaccine will be my booster?
  11. "They still have a bus from CM to BKK twice a day" Mac, do you know which bus station in CM?
  12. As usual "things are never clear" in LOS. Bangkok Airways canceled all domestic flight for August 2021. The only exceptions are certain flights for Phuket Sandbox and certain medical cargo type flights. On the other hand Thai Smile is still accepting bookings for flights starting on August 20??? Bangkok Air said they have canceled flight to comply with government orders. Thai Smile said they have to "confirm" the order before they cancel??? I need to go from CNX to BKK next week and I have a booking on Thai Smile and it looks they are going to string me along until the bitter end. I have thought about the Nok Air to UTP option but at this point I want to keep things simple and take the 10 hours ride by myself. This appears to offer the least amount of contact with other people. Anyone on TVF have any other ideas as to how to get to BKK from CNX?
  13. "Do you mind if I ask why did you do the 5 tests? Did you have symptoms? " No issue with answering this question: 2 were in ASQ 2 were to check-in for international flights 1. was for a colonoscopy(it was hospital policy). I have never had Covid 19 Symptoms. I also completed a Covid 19 Anti-body test as well.
  14. I am in the same sinking ship. Bangkok Airways is selling tickets for late August and Thai Smile is also selling tickets starting August 20(?????). Air Asia has canceled all domestic flights until August 31. I too have an international flight out of BKK in less than 2 weeks and I am in CNX. At this time it looks like I will have to spend between 7,000 to 10,000 baht for a "ride" to BKK. This is outrageous because my Thai Smile one way from CNX to BKK was 900 Baht. TIT, 555 and once I leave I am seeing fewer and fewer reasons to come back to the Land of Smiles(also did ASQ once in BKK this year and doubt I want to do it again). Good luck to all those who have to travel domestically because you will need it.
  15. Maybe or Maybe not? Look at the guy with the camera? http://www.foxnews.com/images/522000/1_21_p4590.jpg
