  1. As far as i know the football forum is still around but it was moved to the ladies section because only girls play football :D

But i bet none of them stop in big Pink hotels :o:D

Probably not, but they do all carry pink handbags :D

  2. when I arrived in BKK and was not so familiar with the city, I thought it would be a good idea to stay somewhere very close to public transport.

I then rent a studio in a not-so-upscale appartement building right in front of Surasak BTS. their main entrance door was just 10 meters away from one of the BTS-exits.

extremely convenient, the best thing I could do at that time. and they had a lunch buffet at 39 Baht every day on the ground floor ( though: phed maak maak :-/ )

they charged about 12.000 a month if I remember that right, not really a bargain, but it still saved me a lot of money (no taxi rides all the time, as the BTS runs til midnight) and, even more important: Time.

unfortunately, I dont remember the name of the place at the moment, but they do advertise in the BKK-Post 1 or 2 times a week.

or just go straight to Surasak BTS and check the place urself. even you dont like it, u will at least get an overview what kind of accomodation is available at which rate. they rent monthly, weekly, and even daily.

its not sukhumvit, but its just a 4 minute BTS ride to Silom/Sala Daeng, 8 minutes to Siam.....

I think you are on about this place

Right outside the station, we booked a month here in a 2 bed apartment which was 24k, Studio goes for 12k, it was ok but the rooms smelt a bit of damp and it was quite noisy if you are on the front of the building

I used to live in an apartment on Suk 71 which was about 7k a month caled sirisuk apartments, bit of a walk but you could get to phra khanong station in about 10 minutes, ther is also a jusco and blockbuster 5 minutes away :o

  3. We are working on it. Please stop moaning kayo.

  4. I don't live in Pattaya, but I visit frequently, pretty much every chance I get, sometimes for up to a month at a time.

I wonder if anyone has opened a bank account in Pattaya, not as a resident, but a tourist.

I think this would be easier. I coud transfer money from another bank account instead of carrying cash or travelers cheques. Then simply use my Thai bank account whenever I go to Pattaya.

Can I do this? Does anyone have any info regarding limits, for example maximum holdings or transfers? Also, is there a time limit that I can let the bank account sit?

Also, which bank is the best and safest for this?

If you are from UK why not get a Nationwide Flex account. You pay no fees on withdrawing cash from ATM's here in LoS and you will not have the cost of transfering money to a Thai account by Swift ( if they let you have a Thai account). Flex allows withdrawal of up to 250 GBP per day by default but I think you can raise the limit if you require.

I have opened 2 flex accounts and used them in Thailand, and this is without a doubt the best way to go, they even offer you the Thai rate instead of the UK rate, which in my case was U.K 64 baht to the pound, Thai rate 69.4 to the pound :o

Two accounts are advisable in case you lose a card, because with nationwide you can instantly transfer money from one account to the other, so leave the majority of cash in your other account with the card locked up in a safety box and away you go. :D

  5. Well done ya big girls blouse, but wouldnt it be funny if he got banned just one post short, or maybe just a long holiday :o

  6. The reasons the members picture page were taken down was explained clearly at the time. There were several members, myself included who put pictures up, these pictures were then taken by members at t e a k door and had very inappropriate comments added to them, so it was decided by several people that they wanted their pictures taken down, and i had loads of pms from members asking me to remove them as i was the only one with access, so all pictures were removed from both the photo album and also from the thread itself.

It is a shame really that members from other sites would feel the need to do this, but the ones who took the pictures are banned members from here who seem to have a grudge and want to spoil the enjoyment of others, and this is the only way they can do it, but its funny that you wouldn't find a picture of most of them anywhere, which says something about what they really have to hide :o

  7. when we were staying at sawadee sea view

Is that the pink coloured one? Or is the pink one on Soi Boukao :o

Yeah thats the one mate, the pink un, 1000 baht a night. :D

  8. Check these lot out

at the Beach Road end of Tipp Plaza, near Mike Shopping Mall - tel. +66-79532173 / +66-98884340 fax. +66-38227064 - has a small fleet of assorted models. Prices start at 1500 baht/day for a 4-stroke 150cc quad with road tyres that can carry two people; rates for larger models (some with off-road tyres) go as high as 3000 baht/day.

Taken from wikipedia. I noticed them when we were staying at sawadee sea view, they are just behind subway sandwiches :D Pretty pricey though judging by these prices :o
