I would agree with that....the hill tribe people have such a different perspective and tradition. I have read a little bit on the Akha People....it would be interesting to hear some more on their culture and traditions. especially pre farang times.

Been to bangkok b4 but bringing 3 bangkok virgins, we are staying on koh san rd, really want to take them to patpong, been b4 but bit wary after reading stories about dodgy clubs, is soi cowboy a better choice? Just want to show them the mad shows and have a laugh, few beers in good bar, any recommendations??

Also arrive at 6pm, does immagration take long, can't remember, also will this be mad rush hour?

cowboy is the best shout...a bit of grub in the old dutch first ( far end, recommend no. 73 ,broiled beef i think..) then most of bars are pretty good.

yeah i gotta second this - it is a fantastic feed.

6pm at the cowboy is a fantastic time to go there... happy hour unless things have changed, and you can generally sit outside chosen bar and people watch as it all starts coming to life for 7.30pm.. some beautifull people, some not so beautifull, the curious, the eager, the veterans and best of all the first timers.

Just to update this topic - if you are going to be doing this in the future

Me n the Mrs went for our NI Interview yesterday at our local Work & Pensions Dept Offices.

Interview was really simple - about 30 mins in all - think this was down to having the right documents. I was allowed into the interview room to help my wife, if she needed it, but i shut up and let her do as much as she could.

Our Marriage Cert (thai only - so they werent too interested)

Coucil Tax Statements (addressed to both of us)*

so thats it - all done - just wait now for it to turn up in the post

Men should take a look at their beer consumption.

Yep exactly - Ive heard that cooked rice needs to be put in the fridge fairly quickly as it can breed germs very easily.. maybe more so than other foods

Is there any truth in this - my wife maintains that its fine to leave it in the rice cooker till the next day...

Most thai girlfriends i've come across talk about killing them selves if i ever leave or else becoming a nun or becoming a bar girl.
