Quickly checked the calendar and... no, it's not April 1st... I know Democrats lost the elections in a big way, many of the reasons were the policies they were pushing over the years. But this is doubling down on the same, and pushing them even further away from the centre of common values, to ever narrower group of supporters. Parties generally work towards winning more votes in the next election, with the test in less than 2 years, but this doesn't seem to be where Ohio is going, if the above is what they actually want to do. In fact, I'd recommend Anita and Tristan to apply for the jobs at the Vatican, although they might even be seen as too extreme for them. Maybe there are some jobs available in Mecca? Though, Mr. Tristan, there might be calamari removal required before being allowed to take that role...

Sorry to pour cold water on this, but Australia first! It's already member of Eurovision ear piercing contest, so it certainly should be given EU membership before Canada!

Thailand Celebrates a Day of Clear Skies and Clean Air
tomazbodner replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It is sad if we are celebrating a clean air day (when it wasn't even particularly clean), as if that's something that only happens one day a year... The way it's going, that might actually happen. -
Thailand Introduces Biometric SIM Registration to Curb Scams
tomazbodner replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Isn't this already done? If you buy a SIM at a telecom shop or a convenience store, they take photo of your ID card and your photo during registration process. I guess all this means is that this same process will now also extend to mobile shops in malls like MBK where thousands of SIM cards used to be pre-registered to some Swedish bloke, ready to use. -

What DOGE is doing is long overdue. If you look at US debt calculator, which increases every fraction of a second, it's clear this cannot continue. You can't continue to spend beyond your abilities and just keep increasing debt ceiling. Something has to be done about it. This is common sense that everyone of you who is not deeply in debt or homeless should be well aware of. It's just about HOW it is done that raises eyebrows...

Thailand Slips in Global Corruption Ranking for 2024
tomazbodner replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
More win-win situations for you: - food factory pays under table to inspector not to find fatal substances in your food - I mean we all know all food today is laced with pesticides, what's a bit more of it... everyone dies some day - beverage producer slips some bank notes to inspectors to sign off on their drinks despite high ethanol content - alcohol is poison anyway, so what difference does it make... - a man in charge accepts a handy sum to select most expensive bidder for building transportation network, doubling its construction cost - it's not like anyone would have to pay double to use it... - a construction company pays off inspectors to look away when building a large public building, so they don't notice only less than half the material is going into it while they are building a few other things on the side with missing concrete and steel bars - buildings collapse at times all over the World, why should this one be any different.. - your house/condo check is complete after greasing a few hands not to notice safety systems are largely missing or incorrectly installed - got electrocuted and killed? Definitely bad karma. - maintenance papers are signed off with a bit of hand padding on your airplane despite it wasn't actually performed or was done incorrectly - I mean... flying is still safest mode of travel regardless of a crash here and there... - soil and water checks for harmful chemicals turns out negative despite residents around the area one after another get diagnosed with cancer, after a suitcase filled with cash is left for those in charge - World is over populated anyway, so what's a few people dying off in the grand scheme of things... - someone offers uniformed men a handy amount if they put some arbitrary charge on you and put you away - look at it on the bright side - you'll no longer need to deal with visa extensions and 90 day reporting and agents and fake bank documents to stay in Thailand That's for those who think corruption is a good thing. While you're using it to avoid laws and regulations it may seem to be, but when you're at the receiving end of the stick, I bet you'll change your mind, especially if you don't have millions to buy your way out of it. And, if you have an ounce of empathy for those who suffer from it on a daily basis. Maybe one day you become one of them. Actually you already are. Look at this wonderful air you breathe. Now think of the polluters who just pay off officials to be allowed to continue burning and polluting. If you love win-win situations like these, then go out and inhale deeply to enjoy the fruits of your ignorance.- 88 replies

Maybe, if you have created a TIN and password, you could use online filling instead. https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-efiling-web/login OK, so it's all in Thai but you could open it in Chrome and use translation option in there. -

Phone scam (697area code) from 'Cyber Control Team'
tomazbodner replied to notrub's topic in General Topics
You may want to read this: https://thailand.prd.go.th/en/content/category/detail/id/2078/iid/327803 Scam alert! Do not answer calls that begin with +697, +698 -
I would not know what someone without PR requires, in my case, the blue house registration was only document they actually looked at, although I've also provided certificate of residence (blue or white PR booklet), red alien registration from police and passport. None was touched. They obviously wanted old pink ID which they cut after issuing new one. I got some forms to sign, and photo taken. 20 minutes and 60 baht later I had new pink card in my hand.
