  1. Oh come on. You know Elon has explosive personality. His rockets are just trying to fit in...
  2. Last year my cheque didn't arrive. Contacted RD and they sent me another. A few days later I got 2 of them at the same time... Thailand Post isn't the most reliable. It should be received within a week. As it's been 3 weeks, contact them and let them know you have not received the cheque and they'll send another. There's same option inside the website to communicate to RD that you haven't received cheque and they'll send another. It is not sent as registered mail.
  3. How hard is it to summon Agoda/Booking/AirBnB and tell them they'll be made illegal in Thailand and blocked off unless they hand over the documentation on all non-hotel rentals for the past 7 years - along with all the amounts paid for rentals, find the owners of the units, bank accounts of who that was transferred to - and grab them for taxes, false tax filing penalties, illegal rental penalties, and give them 30 days to settle the bills or confiscate their units and put them up for sale. All data is there. Platforms have info on bank accounts of those renting out properties and length of stay they were rented for. Banks have confirmation of that - surely they hold records of payments, and so do online providers. Land department has the records of who owned the place at the time of offense. How hard can it be?
  4. Wait! Did he say "So much winning" or "So much whining"?
  5. Happened to me, didn't make fuss about it, apart from trying to comfort the spouse. It was an elderly Filipino couple on pilgrimage to Vatican... the man died early into the flight. Looked 80+. His wife crying and praying the entire flight to Bangkok. It was the last center row of Jumbo, the 4 seats I was hoping to sleep on as generally nobody wanted to sit on those as they didn't recline (much). But... flight attendant showed up shortly into the flight and asked me if I would mind if a gentlemen sat there, as he was feeling unwell. I didn't mind, but didn't expect that it was his last minutes. I won't name the airline here, but they were less than kind to the lady. One of the last sentences the dying man has heard was "we will offload him in Bangkok", when I asked whether we would be making a diversion. Sad event. Felt very sorry for the surviving spouse. But, at least, he completed the mission of visiting the holy sites before passing away.
  6. Believable... seen so many times
  7. Of course they could. But that's illegal in Thailand, not in EU. This directive is for EU and they are Dutch. I think they would not want to go to war with Brussels...
  8. That might be coming. As a massive punch in the face to Thai hotel operators... https://finance.yahoo.com/news/thai-hotels-face-eu-sustainability-091948636.html Thai hotels must step up sustainability efforts to comply with new European Union (EU) regulations by 2026 [SNIP] SCB EIC highlights that over 20,000 Thai hotels list their rooms on Booking.com and Agoda, both owned by the Netherlands-based Booking Holdings. These platforms must comply with CSRD and CSDDD, which means that hotels selling rooms through them must also meet international sustainability standards.[SNIP]SCB EIC notes that only around 100 hotels in Thailand currently hold international sustainability certifications, representing less than 1% of the sector. The majority of these are chain hotels in Bangkok and Phuket.
  9. Police came to arrest some short term renters last night... interesting, indeed. That's just a couple of days after posters popped up all over the property that rentals below 30 days are illegal and carry a 1 year jail sentence or 20,000 THB penalty, or both.

  11. Are you on the way to enlist as cannon fodder in Russian army yet? Davay tovarish!
  12. Doesn't make any difference at night, though... Both sleep alone
  13. Because he would just give Ukraine to Russia, like he will give Taiwan to China.
  14. I think you missed the name there. Surely you meant Trump?
  15. As useless as majority of your posts, Sir
  16. Totally. The more you know, the more you realise you know nothing. You're at the beginning of that journey, haven't figured that out yet.
  17. It's not just a word. It has a meaning. Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/ FASH-iz-əm) is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement,[1][2][3] characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.[2][3] Opposed to anarchism, democracy, pluralism, egalitarianism, liberalism, socialism, and Marxism,[4][5] fascism is at the far right of the traditional left–right spectrum.[6][5][7]
  18. When exactly was this written?
  19. This seems to confirm the same... https://money.yahoo.com/moment-chuck-berry-heard-yoko-025555927.html
  20. Even my earplugs didn't help! Had to mute the speakers! It certainly looks real if you look at the faces of the musicians, who definitely have ears hurting, most likely the entire heads each time she releases a steel piercing screech...
  21. Being a paid troll and disinformation seeder wasn't a lucrative job until recently. This forum saw an enormous influx of them in past few months, and they are easily recognisable. Top, right corner - see the popular contributors of the week. Voila!
