It's only company to sell cars and other stuff they produce in Thailand. Currently their cars are imported from UK and cost 5x more than usual list price. That is not true. You can only reapply without having to go through the entire process within 1 year of expiration. Your license expires on the date that's printed on it. You're not allowed to drive with it after it expires.

Funny... seeing this story I saw that someone I've never heard of transferred something into my account via PromptPay a couple of days ago... probably by error. Called the bank, they identified the transaction and will contact this person to confirm it was done in error and if he allows sharing his account number with me, the lady would call me back and informed me how to transfer... And she just called, saying that I bought something and seller couldn't deliver so it was refunded... No idea what that could be (note to self - stop online shopping addiction!), but eventually it wasn't transfer in error. But what would I do if someone made transfer to me in error? Call the bank as soon as I see it and let them know about it, to send it back. It's the only right thing to do. And a praise for the lady at SCB call center. She was AWESOME.

My bad, and thank you for pointing it out. I didn't read clearly that new passport was already issued. My post stands for going abroad to get new passport at home country, then returning on visas/re-entry permit in old passport. If both passports are with OP, stamps can just be transferred to new passport by immigration office that issued reentry permit.

I don't know anyone there but feel very bad for situation he is in, and wish to help. Was it not just yesterday that a 14 year old girl committed suicide for being expelled from school as tuition wasn't paid for her? If someone wishes to learn, every effort should be taken to make that possible for them. And for this father, that 2500 likely wasn't the entire amount, but what was the gap to pay the tuition. I support many with micro-loans via kiva.org for this exact cause. But while it's very active in neighbouring countries and elsewhere, local organisations are nearly invisible in the platform. The other way trying to support kids is through Worldvision, but there it's specific kids being supported through education. Doesn't cover cases like this family. Overall a sad situation and a gaping hole in government policies, if they were serious about the Thailand 4.0. I'd say something more, but it would get me jailed.

When you get new passport, ask them to only punch through the blank pages at the back, and not visa and information pages. Then enter Thailand with both passports, so your visa is in the old one and they'll put a stamp into the new one. You can then go to immigration and move your reentry permit from old to new passport.

If she's in blue book, she will need to be entered into another blue book to be removed from yours. Whoever is the owner of the condo (chanote is in whose name?) can make the others move out of the tabien baan, but she will need to be present and her new address will need to be put into this blue book, when her name is entered into another one. Unlike foreigners, who do not require a permanent address in Thailand (unless they have PR), Thais must have a permanent address registered somewhere, they can't be removed from one and not entered into another. That will also cause her additional trouble as many of her other documents like ID card would need to be reissued with new address. Don't think you can do it without her present and willing.

Depends where you're buying. There's not much of a difference from buying as a Thai, but here's the procedure: - the juristic office will need to provide 2 letters, one is that the unit is free of debt and the other will be the list of all foreign owners with percentage of residential space they occupy (it's a table with owner name, nationality, size of unit in m2, and % of total space). With your unit included, the % must not exceed 49% of total residential space. - if you have PR you don't need this, but if you don't, you will need to transfer funds from abroad and get a slip from bank to attest to that - you would sign a contract and pay down-payment, probably stating in contract that the rest would be paid in 30 days or alike - If seller has a bank loan, you will need to get information on how much bank loan is outstanding. You would make cashier's cheque for outstanding loan to the bank's name, and the rest for the seller (and if any agent is involved, separate agent cashier's cheque) - On the day of transfer at the land department for the area, seller (and bank, if any involved) would meet up with all this paperwork, and inspected by the officer, and then type up official transfer document and update chanote. At that time you would pay taxes (2%, usually split 50/50), and if seller had property less than a year, a business tax (usually that's seller's responsibility). Pay that cash as there's fee to cash cashier's cheque. - You would get chanote and the transfer paper - The unit is now yours, and you'll need to go to EGAT office to change the name on the electricity meter to your name, and pay meter deposit - You would then inform the juristic office of condo that you are now owner of unit and present the paperwork so they register you in their system for the maintenance fees, voting rights, parking / entrance cards, condo apps etc. and remove the previous owner. If you have PR you do not need to get funds from abroad. Else it's the same procedure. You can also get bank loan to buy unit, in which case it's just like taking normal loan, but the difference would be at land department, you will only get copy of chanote, while the original will be kept with the bank until loan is paid off. Once all this is done, you can go to khet and put your name in yellow book (no PR) or blue book (PR) and get your pink ID card.

Depends on how old the SIM is. If relatively new, then the chip will be small and fit into nano SIM size, but if the SIM is older, there could be circuit larger than the nano cutout size, and by cutting it, you would destroy it. I've done that before ???? Many SIMs are combos, and are already pre-stamped with 3 sizes, you just need to pop it out, rather than cutting it. If yours is not, be careful and if it isn't printed, try to see through by light behind it, whether all the circuitry is inside the area you plan to cut out. As said, newer SIMs of past few years will certainly be, but something from 5 years ago likely wouldn't.
