Inheritance of UK assets to Thai wife after I kick the bucket
alanrchase replied to Jimmy B's topic in Marriage and Divorce
Need to update that information as it seems it will change on 6 Apr 25. Seems they are changing from domicile to residence however UK inheritance tax will still apply to UK assets. https://www.stoneking.co.uk/literature/e-bulletins/october-budget-2024-changes-domicile-uk-inheritance-tax -
Inheritance of UK assets to Thai wife after I kick the bucket
alanrchase replied to Jimmy B's topic in Marriage and Divorce
Not true if you are a Brit. He owns a house in the UK so HMRC will consider him domiciled in the UK and his worldwide assets will be used for inheritance tax calculations. The only good news is that you can get up to £175,000 tax free for the house making a total of £500,000. -
So your OP was half a story. Mention pensions but not income.
-
Form 91 is for declaring income from working in Thailand, you mentioned pensions. How does your statement "depends" help anyone?
-
Think you have the wrong forms there, form 91 states it is for income from employment. If you are declaring money remitted from abroad I thing form 90 is the one you need.

Watched one of his videos the other day where he seemed to be suggesting that his viewers should report the foreigners who he considered were working illegally by giving tax advice. I thought that was very poor advice from a lawyer in Thailand considering the defamation laws. He is a lawyer, if he thinks people are working illegally why doesn't he report them himself? Gave up watching his videos after that.

what money is taxed 2024 ?
alanrchase replied to Carver2's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
An example, a poster said he needed a CoR to get his TIN, my office didn't require a CoR to issue my TIN, I have no yellow book or pink card. So tax offices seem to have different requirements just like immigration offices. Wouldn't be the first time a government office was unaware of new procedures. -

"Definitive answer"? Is it the same as someone posting the answer to a question asked at their local immigration office and everyone accepting that that is the definitive answer for every immigration office and reflects what immigration orders dictate? People seem to get different answers from different officers at the same immigration office so why take one or two tax offices as gospel? Everyone's situation regarding tax status is slightly different. I won't be taking any advice from people who have no idea what my individual situation is. -
LG had a major problem with what are called linear compressors which they started using in their fridges. Multiple lawsuits in the US. They updated them in 2018 but still had problems. In 2022 they went back to using standard compressors. I have a Samsung that must be close to 20 years old, only issue is the door seals have becomea bit stiff. Have an 11 year old Mitsubish that had an issue a few years ago with water leaking, left it to defrost totally and that seemed to fix it so possiblt the water drain got clogged up with ice and dust. Also have a Toshiba that is about 4 years old that has had no issues.

COVID Vaccines Could INTEGRATE with Human DNA: Yale Research
alanrchase replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
The anti-vax crowd need to wake up, it's being pushed by Big Pharma. They no longer make money out of vaccine doses so are spreading the anti- vax message to fuel large outbreaks of such things as polio, measles, tuberculosis and maybe even smallpox. More money to be made from large outbreaks and the medication required to treat the symptoms. -

That's why I said the figure of 40%, which is what seems to be getting social media in a tizzy, was from a X by Musk. Are you saying the social media frenzy was over a raise of 4% which would be their first raise since 2009? Do you consider 4% over the last 15 years to be a vast increase in pay? Maybe you are getting several different reports confused?
-
AI got it wrong. Questioning the credibility of MSM after this OP is a joke. The 40% came from an X (tweet) by Musk, there is no truth to it. Congress have not had a raise since 2009, they voted not to recieve the raises that were due. This year the raise would be 3.8% if they chose to take one. Begs the question to what the AI actually reviewed.

MAGA had all those Leftie tears to drink in but it didn't take Joe long to get the MAGA tears flowing again. Well played Biden.
