  1. The problem with a safe is that a thief knows where to start looking . If the Canadian had put the money under the mattress he would of been awakened as the two ladies of the night took a bo-peep. It is possible that the guest will claim on his travel insurance. Money under the mattrese would not make a successful claim. It could be why there was a generous payment for the two ladies.
  2. Don't invite me for Tea
  3. Because the immigration check if you had the cash when using an agent . If not your application is rejected.
  4. You are stuck with them if you never have the funds . As I just tried to explain , i used an agent one year as i was short of the 800 t . The next year I had the funds bit had to go one more year using the same agent to obtain the extension myself the following year .
  5. I do not agree as i had first hand experiance of obtaining an extension after using an agent . When immigration saw that I used an agent previously they checked to see if i had funds for that year . If i did not have the funds they would of refused my application. Applicants can only go from an agent to doing the work themselves if they had the funds . That is why I went for one more year using agents after having had advice from Mr Ubon Joe .
  6. One problem is when you want to stop using the agent if you never qualified for the funds as the immigration will demand to see you had the funds . Only way if possible is to use the agent one more time using the required funds and the following year apply your self at immigration.
  7. What ever quality of house you decide on I recommend using hardwood door frames that can not be eaten by termites. The cost of the frames are three times the price of the normal hardwood used in the cheaper option. We have changed four door frames in a space of 12 years due to termite damage. You dont know the termites are there in the frame until the door fails at the hinges. A very messy job to replace the frames. Mai Daeng is the name of the hardwood i replaced the frames with.
  8. 12000 baht a square meter would be a basic Thai style home. 20 to 25000 will give you a more western standard home.
  9. Bag tied to his jock strap maybe?
  10. And one of your lungs with a hole in it
  11. Good advice , steer clear of any confrontation on Thai roads.
  12. Thank you for your compliment, yet I think your head needs urgent attention
  13. Your mental state is in question Sir
  14. I think most of us retired and living in Thailand fit in your Your appraisal of flyguy.
  15. China is no longer considered a low cost manufacturing country. Yes, China are showing to be an excellent manufacturing country . However any manufacturer from Europe , Japan or USA will have there technology stolen as has been the case with French, German and Japanese fast train manufacturers over many years. That's just one example
  16. I do not think financial services jobs could be considered skilled labour and that is one job that AI could take over in the near future. I can not imagine a company such as Rolls Royce engine makers would ever manage to find the skilled labour required in a low cost country and that would apply to many manufactures in Europe and the United States.
  17. Many companies would find taking there business abroad would be impossible if they require skilled labour and artificial inteligence will not help them either. Unions can help the smooth operation of the business when you have management that understands how to work with them.
  18. Only me? Where do you get your misinformation from? Short term rentals are not allowed in flats for less than 30 days unless there is a hotel license applied to the building . After that i find nothing that comes close to your statement that short term rentals are illegal in Thailand . Perhaps you could find some evidence of your claims such as a conviction for example.
  19. It appears you are the one misinterpreted the short term rentals laws after much time looking into the subject. Look forward to a reply that I am sadly not going to receive. All the best Peter
  20. Still looking into the subject. Will come back with a vengeance soon
  21. It seems as though the homestay license is run by the tourist board. You need to of been operating for at least 6 months before applying. This is not looking mandatory.
  22. Is the homestay license mandatory all over Thailand? Has there been any convictions for not having the license ? Nobody seems to of heard of it in our area . Thank you for making the homestay license known to use.
  23. Xxx maybe a better choice of a name. Not complaining
