  1. Latest down grade of top lenders in Thailand by the S&P credit agency is a concern for us all as the economy is heading for more problems with energy prices increasing and the tourist industry recovery after 2 years of covid that Thailand is heavily dependent on is slow to say the least . The next down grade from the agency would put them into junk status . Still the Thai baht remains strong although close to its lowest value in the last 12 months against the US dollar .
  2. The government needs the covid emergency degree to allow the covid extensions to continue . I have heard no news as you asked , however I am sure the covid extensions will be continued . They need all the money they can get at the moment . Many landlords will be displeased if the covid extensions are not continued .
  3. Perhaps the reason for the continues dumping of face masks on the road side
  4. Good idea to reduce air conditioning use . At least turn the thermostat up to 25 degrees Most of the electricity produced in Thailand is from the use of natural gas . That will have the inevitable result of a price increase .
  5. I would rather walk alone than pay that amount of money to watch a game of football
  6. I have seen you have knowledge about solar systems that I do not have and i there fore ask if you could kindly give some advice on a reserve power battery that I could use in conjunction with solar panels that i aim to install later . I want to use the reserve power for providing power to the house for at least half a day . I have two submersible pumps that i need to keep running in case of a power outage . I have seen a battery from Huawei luna 5000 that maybe could be used which has the advantage you can add two more batteries too . Our average usage for electricity is 800 kwh a month . Then I imagine i need a battery that could handle at least 30 kwh in one day .
  7. Not yet . Your price is what i have been paying for some time which is around 4,5 baht with the value added tax of 7 percent included .
  8. 3465 baht deposited in a Thai bank for 862 days will return far less in the same time span . Money well spent
  9. The electricity used at your rented condo seems correct and fair . Many landlords charge much higher rates legally .
  10. Your native UK is not so much different than one hundred years ago . You can have a great deal of money yet unable to blend in with the elite in merry England
  11. I have a question that is off topic but concerning wise . I have a British pound account with wise that I opened this week while residing in Thailand . I opened the account as i am waiting for money from a deceased estate . Can a solicitor send money to the wise account i have opened ? I have no other bank accounts in the UK . I was asked to transfer around 1000 baht to open the account with wise . I am not sure if I was meant to do that for a private account
  12. Best scenario would be to drop the word covid and continue allowing extensions in Thailand . Law change required there . immigration would raise more revenue and tourists would spend there money in Thailand .
  13. Any one complaining about the price of beer have trouble to understand anything around them ? Sad I would like to ask one question to people that have more knowledge about Mr Barrow than myself . Has Mr Barrow ever made a campaign about the UK government not paying any increases in pensions to UK citizens living in Thailand ?
  14. Ramming a car to cause it to overturn would be a good start What speeds were reached to have this man who drove off in his car to be rammed i can only imagine . Legal speed i doubt it
  15. Please tell me of a country that chooses to lower fuel tax when energy is reaching a high price ? A yearly budget for a country is calculated on the taxes they expect to receive . Reduce taxes then the missing money has to be borrowed . Thailand have borrowed to meet the minimum price on diesel . Electricity price will be the next problem as 75 percent of there electricity is produced from natural gas which i believe is all imported .
  16. Just my thoughts . The owner of the stolen pick up truck left with the engine running that many people choose to do here in Thailand with no regard for anyone else has broken more laws than the original offender .
  17. The UK remains the 5th largest economy in the world . I can not see how you can say Britain is a sick joke . Johnston maybe , but that is all I can think of . Oh yes, and there government state pensions are far from fitting to a rich country as the UK. Sick joke ? I dont think that covers the situation .
  18. Not many countries are innocent of any wrong doing . Let the corrupt leaders of Russia and Ukraine fight it out is your answer to a problem that involves innocent people and the financial stability of the world including Thailand with high energy prices . You may be right yet I have to disagree with you even with the lack of knowledge you claim to have .
  19. I dont understand what your saying , please , i must run
  20. I would say the majority not all . Otherwise I agree , avoid if possible . If i see them in my rear vision i pull over and let the van go .
  21. Any dog in my opinion should have a muzzle on when out from its designated home . No muzzle then the dog has to go and a heavy fine to the owner
