I went to immigration today concerning the 800K for 3 months after extension. I was told that there is no need to for this requirement because it would be checked at the next extension application in 2020. That is, both the 'seasoning' for the next application and the 3 months after for this year extension would be considered together. Noncompliance on either one would result in the penalty similar to not having seasoned the 800K in previous years.
Does this mean they will stop issuing notes on extension renewals that you must report back to them in 90 days with your bank book. It seems strange that they were issuing notes in March advising you to return in 90 days and yet when you comply with their instruction they tell you that you did not need to bother.

the proof is in the letter that is required signed by the bank!!!
There is no letter used for the after 90 days visit. I turned up with the note they gave me at the renewal visit stating that I had to be there on 24th June with my passport and bank book only. I gave the girl copies of each. She smiled and said I will see you next March, I have no evidence that I made that visit. No receipt. Maybe she entered it on the system, maybe not. If at my visit in March next year I am asked why didn't I turn up last June with my 800k evidence do you think if I say "Oh I did" they will say fine. No way. I am not paranoid but if you are asked to do something by an official body and you do it but are not given anything to show that you complied, surely that is wrong. The number of people who comment on TV with absolutely no knowledge of the subject is amazing. Fortunately they are balanced by the few that can offer really useful advice. That is why I keep viewing it.

This had nothing to do with my 90 day reporting which is in 3 weeks time.
This is the requirement to show that I have had 800k in my account for the 3 months after my extension renewal last March.
If the requirement of immigration was that all I had to do was to show on next year's renewal (March 2020) that I had maintained the 800k and 400k balances according to their new rules, then why did they give me a note when I last renewed stating that I had to show them on 24th June 2019 that I had maintained 800k in my bank account since March.
Having adhered to their rules, what defence do I have if next Mach they claim that although my book shows the balances being maintained according to their rules I had not reported on 24th June 2019 as instructed to.

Did she make a note in the computer or something?
She may have done, but I have no proof of that.

I went this morning to Jomtien Imm to show I have maintained 800k baht in my bank account since my 12 month retirement extension renewal in March.
I was asked to copy the last page of my updated bank book and to copy my latest renewal extension.
I asked when I need to see her again and she said on my next visa extension renewal. Great!! All done in 2 minutes.
When I got home I checked my passport to see if it contained evidence of my visit today. Nothing. So what proof do I have that I turned up at immigration today with my bankbook.
Have any other members had the same experience.

I am looking for a broker on the Darkside who offers competitive house insurance. Any ideas?

Have just started trying it and it seems very good on most sites I use. Only problem seems to be with Piratebay which I use on Google Chrome with bittorrent and can choose where I want the downloads to go. So far I cannot find how to do this with Brave. Any ideas?

Update for everyone on the 800/400k requirement.
I just went today for my first 90 Day on this visa extension. I was at the Jomtien IO.
When I did my visa renewal in March, they gave me a one pager explaining that at my first 90 Day I would need to bring an updated bank book showing a balance over 800k.
I handed over my passport today, to a lovely immigration woman the girl says we see many times, I never recall.
We chatted a bit, she took my passport, did not check my visa, did not ring me up on the computer, did not ask for a bank book...just stapled in the next reporting page and we were off in under two minutes.
I am sure the fact she is familiar with us was a factor, but there was no mention of the bankbook at all.
Perfect.
I did my renewal in March at Jomtien also but the next dates for the 90 day report and showing the bank book are not the same.

I am a 78 yo who has lived in Thailand for 15 years. I have had 7 stents inserted and am currently receiving medical treatment for cancer. I have paid myself about 1,000,000 baht for all the medical treatment I have received here. In the unlikely event that I could get medical insurance I obviously would not be covered for pre existing conditions. The Thai authorities are planning these new measures to ensure that expats will not put a financial strain on their country by making sure that their hospital bills will be covered by medical insurance. How will that work when a large proportion of expat medical costs will be for treatment that will be excluded by insurance - as is likely to be the situation in my case. Is it their intention to ban expats with pre conditions from settling here.

@lelapin For usual case, how far need to wait for PET Scan upon appointment?
They initially offered me an appointment for next month but I told them I didn't need one until July.

Thank you, that is very helpful and that is a great price for a PET scan.
Is the Center in a separate building from the hospital? Easy to spot?

About 50 yards away.

Went to Chulabhorn Hospital's National Cyclotron and PET Center today. Checked in at information desk at 11.00 am and completed detail form about myself.
At 12.20 pm I was called again to show my referral from Dr., recent blood test results, review what recent medical treatment I had received and what medicine I was taking.
I explained I didn't need an appointment until mid July and I was given one for 15th July at 9.30 am with the results being available on 18th July, perfect for my 22nd July appointment with my BCH Dr.
I was given a Preparation For Procedure form and asked for 15,000 baht deposit for the expected total cost of 32,000 baht. The staff there were very helpful but going there with a Thai I feel made things much easier to communicate.
I hope the above information is of help for anyone about to undergo a PET/CT scan themselves.

I am going there next Wednesday to make an appointment so will let you know.

You mean making that the appointment date or the date you go to make the appointment?
I would go as soon as possible to make the appointment as there will be a wait list and no idea how long.
As to actual scan take the closest availanle to the date of your Doctor appt but make sure report and DVD will be ready in time as there might be a few days delay between scan and report. Also keep in mind it is a govt hospital so no work on weekends or holidays.

I am going next Wednesday to make the appointment. I was thinking of arranging the PET scan for 15th July with my meeting with Dr at BCH arranged for 22nd July.

He is not going to Chula. They do not have PET. He is going to Chulabhorn Hospital's National Cyclotron and PET Center. This is a sepatate facility which provides advanced high tech diagnostics for patients from all over the country. Going straight there (and not the main hospital) with referral in hand should be fine.
May have to register first for a hospital number but then do not go to OPD, go straight to the aforementioned Center.
As one of only a handful of hospitals in the entire country with a PET scan they receive this sort of thing often.

Thanks for info Sheryl.
Do you think that making an appointment for the PET scan one week before my appointment at BCH would be OK

You are doing the wrong thing if you bring paperwork about your cancer treatment at BCH along to Chulalongkorn. You are not going to Chula for a second opinion or for a continuation of the BCH treatment, but with all that paperwork you will give that confusing impression.
Your visit to Chula is not to see an oncologist there or any other medical doctor. You will be attended to by a nurse and then handed over to a technician skilled in the use of the PET apparatus. Your BCH oncologist will be given a DVD with the scanned images or he may be given electronic access to them and he will know what to do with them and he may even let you have a look at them.
Is this going to be your first PET scan?
Thanks for the advice. It is my 1st PET scan.
I have an appointment 22nd July with the Dr at BCH to discuss the results. In order for them to have enough time to send the results to him, when would you suggest I arrange my PET scan for.

He is not getting a CT but rather a PET scan, only a handful of places in the entire country have that.
I doubt there will be any surprise requests if you have the request from BCH in hand. Performing PET scans for other hospitals is part of this hospital's mandate.
Thanks for that reassurance. I am going there next Wednesday with all my paperwork from BCH

I have never had any "surprise requests" from different hospitals here. You just fill out basic paperwork on your history and then you see the doctor.
Yes, scans (CT/PET/MRI) taken months apart can show if size of a tumor is reduced or not, but you would need an initial scan to compare/confirm size change of course .
Interesting the doctor from Bangkok Christian recommended you go to another hospital, as BCH does have several radiologists and a CT machine.
Chulabhorn has a fine oncology department according to their website. Good luck to you
Bangkok Christian do not have a machine for PET scans. I recently had to have radiotherapy treatment and again the Dr had to send me to another hospital as they did not have the appropriate machine at Bangkok Christian

Yes; don't be pushed into having additional tests you may not need. Hospitals here are primed to sell you as much as they can, including tests and medicines, whether you need them or not. Be wary is my advice and just have done what you believe that you need. Do good research before hand and know as much as you can about your medical needs. If you can find a doctor that you trust, not an easy task in itself, you will be better placed to resist any additional expenditure you may be asked for.
Personally, I wouldn't trust many of this medical crowd in Thailand to look after my cat, let alone me. Actually, the vets do a better job on animals than many of the medicos here do on people.
Thanks but the Dr I have had at The Christian hospital is excellent and from several recent tests I have had, I clearly have a cancerous tumour which hopefully is reducing in size hence the need for the latest tests.

I have been trying to use Messenger in Facebook to make video chats on my laptop using Windows 10. The sound is OK but I cannot seem to get any picture sent via my webcam. The laptop works fine when using Skype.

I am planning to have a Pet / CT scan at Chulabhorn Hospital and I am going there next week to arrange an appointment. I have all the documentation from my Dr from Christian hospital who is recommending it and wondered if I am likely to be hit with any surprise requests when I get there. I do not need the scan until mid July so hope that I will have no problem with making an appointment for then.
Anyone on Thai Visa who has had such a scan at that hospital and if so any tips or comments you have would be appreciated.

That is the same as I received in March at Jomtien but when you go back in September do not expect any receipt or written recognition that you have reported as requested.
