  1. Wrong, people just want to bash anything implemented that they don't like.
  2. Quite, people should look at the taxes imposed by Heathrow before mouthing off. But then this forum thinks everything should be done to suit them.
  3. Why?. Google is quite friendly, look up the court case.
  4. Compulsory health insurance now not required A deliberate distortion to imply everyone, which you obviously want to support. Have to admit the recycled media articles on here are pretty good at winding people up.
  5. "Aren't AirBnB landlords who rent properties for periods less than one month supposed to have a proper hotel license under Thai law? " No - Nothing to do with the time, hotel license is based on number of rooms, I think 4. "Isn't it against some condo rules for a landlord to rent rooms out for a period of less than a month? " No - The court ruled that when it came to condos, the number of rooms in respect of the hotel licence requirement was to be taken as the total number of rooms in the facility. In other words the owner of one condo would require a license. "How does AirBnb enforce these regulations? " De-listing and legal action for breach of contract. "If a landlord refuses to file a TM-30 on behalf of their tenant which is required by Thai law if the tenant is a foreigner, how does AirBnB enforce compliance?" I am not going to go back over it but I seem to remember following the court case AirBnB made a statement to the effect that TM30s would be available at check in. I appreciate that when something goes wrong at check in it can be problematic. I had an issue checking in to a place in Vietnam and got the T shirt. At the end of the day the renter has a contract with AirBnB and they have an obligation to satisfy that contract.
  6. If you want to believe distorted media articles that is entirely up to you. As for knee jerking, you need to broaden your horizons.
  7. Why should the behaviour of some landlords make AirBnB illegal, an idea that many on this forum wish to promote. Landlords have a legal obligation to AirBnB to abide by local legal requirements, not the renter. If there is a problem it is up to AirBnB to deal with it. If renters are concerned about TM30 or any other legal issue they should request confirmation from AirBnb before making the booking. Renters have no grounds to challenge landlords, their agreement is with AirBnB.
  8. Good one, change the statement and then claim you are right. You can fly out of BKK tonight with BA on flight BA6173 operated under partnership arrangement by Qatar Airways. Bottom line is you fly with the airline that exercises the Conditions of Carriage and that would be BA.
  9. There is no question over the legal status of AirBnB booking. It is a myth put about by discontented condo owners. They take the view that if one barman was watering down the beer, then every bar must be breaking the law.
  10. Not Emirates, it is Qatar who virtually own BA. Where do you think BA got a/c and crews from during the strike. At the end of the day if you buy your ticket from BA, you are flying with BA as it is their "Conditions of Carriage" that will apply.
  11. Do BA sell tickets from UK to Thailand?, it is a YES or NO answer. There is no such thing as "BA metal", BA is owned by IAG and Qatar Airways is the major shareholder in IAG. Flying BA from London to BKK via Doha, first leg with the monkey and second leg with the organ grinder.
  12. Same here, I get them from Siamburi. Villa Market used to have Heinz but you had to visit the ATM first.
  13. Obviously the word "direct" is a deliberate omission. You can fly with BA to Thailand via Doha or Hong Kong.
  14. Remind us, what did the airline industry bosses say when the UK government gave holiday makers less than 48 hours to get home before being quarantined.
  15. You are asking the wrong question. It is fairly obvious that insurance would need to be valid from 1st March, 7 days before departure forThailand. The real question mark hangs over this part "arriving from countries which refuse entry to infected people"
  16. I transferred the funds monthly from HSBC and when I came to do the extension I downloaded the remittance advice for each transfer from my HSBC account and it wasn't a problem. I had the 12 month statement from the bank and I actually saw the IO go through all the advice notes and tick them off against the statement.
  17. How misinformed is that. Prior to the pandemic there was significant attempts to control the spread of the disease with government mobile units going around providing free vaccination. We have a about 60 cats and around 10 dogs and they visited regularly, gratitude is the word you should have used, not anger.
  18. Sorry, willmake it a bit simpler for you. Falangs are the oracle when it comes to Thai culture, or think they are.
  19. Irrelevant if the problem was duration. I had annual policies for many years and cover for any single trip varied. I had cover for 90 days but 42 or 45 was much more common, with some as low as 30 days. Normally you get what you pay for but buying insurance from a bank would probably mean high price for low cover.
  20. Ill informed statements. Problem was duration of cover.
  21. Obviously you believe that if someone has a condition and they get covid, then the immune system fights the covid and allows the condition to kill that person, covid had nothing to do with the death.
  22. Didn't work for me. The letter and statement were from the same day but the last transaction was the day before. They sent me to the bank to do another transaction so then the letter and statement balances didn't tie up with the bank book, but that was ok.
  23. It would be a different story if the bike had hit the dog, they would be queing up to claim ownership, and compensation. Learning fast from the west.
