Must Read Thailand starts checking foreigners' passports on domestic flights
sandyf replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No it is not an issue. If you look at an airline ticket first and middle names are not separated so if there is no box for the middle name you should include it as part of first name. I have just done a name change and it asked for first and middle names but when I put them in it wasn't accepted. It wasn't until I omitted the space between that I could move forward. -

It is considered a mismatch by the airlines. I have just paid this morning 2852 baht to deal with exactly that issue. -
I had 3BB and also the problems. My wife convinced me to change to Sim card internet so I got a router and DTAC annual card. It was pretty rubbish, I use kodi and even the smallest files were difficult to stream without buffering. After I had recovered the cost of router & card went back to fiber, this time with AIS. Not perfect but a lot better than the Sim setup. It is certainly useful to have the Sim available, last week we had 2 power cuts and used my wife's phone as a hotspot for as long as my laptop battery lasted.

Exactly what I said, The original comment referred to "foreign" doctors. However before taking the ML there can be additional practical experience imposed on those that have studied outside the country.

Your position following the border run would be no different to someone entering on a SE Non O visa, they expire on the first entry rather than after the last. I have done a 12 month marriage extension from a ME Non O well after the visa itself had expired, and another when the ME visa still had 5 months to run.

You missed the point, when she came back to Thailand with her medical degree she was effectively a foreigner. The exams being in her native language was superflous.

Not just foreign doctors, also applies to Thais. My niece couldn't get a place at a Thai uni, everyone wants to try and be a doctor. She went to China and did a 6 year English speaking course for her degree, also had to be fluent in Chinese before the 5th year. On returning to Thailand she had to do the last year again as an intern at a Thai hospital before sitting the Thai medical exams. Unfortunately that happened during covid and exams kept getting postponed, took over 8 years to get the licence.

You have chose the part of the definition that suits your point of view. It would appear that you are also confirming what I suggested may be the case in another reply, that there is no earth in the consumer unit. That being the case I would suggest you look for somewhere else, It is my understanding that landlords have a responsibility to ensure the wiring is safe. You can be a long time pushing up daisies.

No earth to the sockets, good chance there is no earth in the consumer unit. Probably just overload breakers.

From the OP "Help are there any easy yet safe solutions? " Bottom line is there is no easy solution if you want to be safe.

Devices like that are designed to protect the load device, based on current going from live to neutral. Does nothing to protect your heart with current going from live to earth.
-
Obviously it is your choice if you want to use the appliance without grounding the metal casing. You are incorrect to say it is not feasible. I have seen many Thai houses where an earth cable has been added alongside the surface wiring, just needs a competant electrician. If it is a matter of cost or landlord permission, that has nothing to do with feasability.

Rejected at Nong Kai border for unknown reason

It used to specify docs to presented on the notice above the IOs head and boarding pass was included, think it has now been re-worded. One time I was coming back and on seeing the notice realised my boarding pass was in a pocket on my backpack. I went to get backpack but being a bit heavy suddenly slid off my shoulder. Unfortunately it was the same side as I was carrying the duty free and the movement caused the bag to strike the floor. Bit embarrassing stood in front of the immigration desk in an ever expanding pool of brandy. -
Pattaya: Pathway hazard caused by parked cars, potholes, and uneven tiles
sandyf replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I first came in 1999 and came to live in 2008, been vast improvements since those days, even a blind man could see that but those that can see only have to look at the exchange rate. People would prefer to forget there used to be times when you couldn't use public toilets as the water had been cut off. They just want to keep the best of the old days, in particular the cheap prices, then complain about everything else. Bit arrogant for anyone to think they can tell another country how to run the economy, but there are some nations that think they have a god given right. -
do they have this prescription medicine in Thailand

As far as I am aware it is still available as Gin & Tonic. Quinnine doesn't cause arrhythmia but not recommended for anyone that has it. It was mainly for malaria and has been superceded. I have atrial fibrillation and a couple of years ago I was visiting my brother and had a severe attack of cramp. My brother said here take this tablet he had got from the doctor for cramp, when the pain had died down I read the label, it was a quinine tablet. I have suffered alot from cramp since since I hurt my back about 10 years ago. Not a lot can be done many put it down to certain deficiencies and I have seen reports of bananas(potassium) helping. I use ibufrofen gel for serious episodes, relaxes the muscle quickly and takes away the residual pain so you can get back to sleep.
