  1. Your bathroom routine must be murder ????
  2. We've just got back after 2.5 yrs. Two new ( good quality ) hotels in Soi Buakhao - quiet but within a few mins of everything DEBUA - stayed there last week ( soft opening ). Officially opened 1/12 - Good rooms, nice pool. Standard 1300/Superior 1400 double AMETHYST - Opened the other day. Very nice rooms 2100 incl breakfast for superior . 1900 for deluxe. Good pool A couple of mins from each other. < 5 mins walk from LK Metro. Close to Central & Baht busses If you want to stay in a really nice place - Royal Cliff Honeymoon Suite is always good ( not as expensive as it sounds ). We usually have a few nights there.
  3. What are you talking about you id**t. That's not even a cat - where I come from we have proper cats we call Lions ???? This makes as much sense as someone paying billions for something and then sacking the majority of its employees .... Should have sold those bloody Tesla shares ????
  4. Ninja is the best in my opinion. We've had one for 9 months, bought Mum one 3 months ago when I could see the gas/electricity costs rising as she lives alone and loves it. They do save on gas/elec' a great deal - in honesty not as good as a good cooker ( I have a Rangemaster ) but much cheaper for small families/quickly cook produce

    MOT - PATTAYA

That's exactly what we're planning. We usually get it done in Bangkok, but I'm getting some sun so the Missus is finding useful things to keep her occupied. Where is the LTD in Pattaya ?

    MOT - PATTAYA

Hi We're just back in Thailand and the car needs an MOT ( been with wife's brother ). Staying in Areca Lodge Soi Dianna, Pattaya. It's a standard Honda with no mods. Any local recommendations ?
  7. I was thinking the same as we're in Pattaya at the moment, I was hoping it would be quieter too. We'll just grin and bear it in one day in the next few weeks.
  8. God do they still make those. I remember my elder brother getting a CB100-N to get to the mine. That was over 40 years ago.... BTW - I recently got an IDP from London - it was stamped with motorbike license yet I don't have one in the UK.
  9. I gamble every day crossing the street - one is just more life threatening than the other !!
  10. I assume your have 4 so can you see foreigners doing anything untoward N/S/W/E and then report on such discrepancies? ????
  11. Thai gold necklaces must be cheap - every time the Indians get theirs stolen they're 500,000 apiece - these were only 30,000 ! ????
  12. Simple - let them do it but watch over them !
  13. Areca Lodge has covered parking only a few mins walk away. There is a new hotel - only opened last week a few yards away, literally < 30 secs walk that has covered underground parking. Rooms 1200 ( v.good quality ) called DEBUA. I just checked out. As it's still new not full so you could probably ask them for a fee to park.
  14. We have a Fiesta ecoboost ( had a Focus ) both are brilliant in the U.K. In Thailand we have a Civic - again very good. In Thailand I'd go for Honda/Toyota(Altis). In the the UK a Focus. This is my times of hard tops - for 39 years I only had soft tops.
  15. My wife has both passports - so you can - she doesn't need a UK visa like the OPs
  16. This is just for monies my wife & I have here, and we both die at the same time. I don't have a will in Thailand as everything goes to my wife - she'll send monies back to my brothers and sisters. This was just to check re if we both died at the same time. In the UK we have wills. Re Lawyer, my mother asked hers to delete three (3) words of her will and they told her £200 + VAT last week. I just crossed the old will saying null and void and deleted the three words.
  17. That's the Tories then - look at the numbers instead of the Daily Express !!
  18. My Thai wife and I returned last week. Come out on British passport. In Thailand enter on Thai passport. ( if you use British you'll need to adhere to visa rules ) And visa-versa - exit on Thai, enter on British BTW - you should be able to go through the Thai channel with your wife too if there's a queue - but non last week
  19. We register the TM30 initially with the contract - then give them the login/password to the renter to administer. I'm not monitoring their comings and goings on a daily basis or trust that they tell me when and where they've gone/back Keep the email showing you've handed the responsibility to the renter re their responsibility to register TM30 movements.
  20. So please elaborate, enlighten us on what you would have done. I'm sure you have scores of stories you tell by the campsite to the boys how you saved/save Thailand on a daily basis ...
  21. HI My wife is writing her will and as a "wipeout" provision if we both die at the same time looking at what taxes we may incur if we leave monies to my siblings in England. My wife is 10 years younger than me, doesn't drink, smoke or take drugs - and a doctor - so I'm assuming she'll outlive me. However in the event of us both dying in an accident we'd like to share the monies from Thailand ( we have Condos ) between our brothers and sisters in Thai & UK. If we add my brothers/sisters as benefactors to her Thai will, will those monies be taxed before been sent to the UK and if so how much ? Mods - I looked for a category and couldn't find it so please move to where required.
  22. I got back from LK Metro 10 mins ago & I didn't see any signs for the England game - nobody was advertising it.
  23. I've done UK debit card transfers to Wise without incurring charges from my bank ( Natwest & Metro I believe ). It's just a debit card payment from one account to another so you shouldn't be charged anything.
