  1. I came in yesterday afternoon. All very straight forward, no questions re any of the above. Non-Thai immigration hardly any queue. Thai, we were straight through. Baggage reclaim was a bit of a nightmare - probably waited for about an hour. I noticed others with notices also of Baggage reclaim delays.
  2. I followed the O.J. Simpson case - can't be any worse than that ????
  3. I think Covid had a much larger impact than people realise on top league games. I used to watch all the games on TV, but the absence of fans on the terraces during covid made the games sterile. I now watch much less than I did before. If fans want to change the game - stay away for set dates agreed between fans. Clubs will realise without atmosphere they have nothing to sell and no amount of marketing / PR will compensate. No fans = No atmosphere = No Sponsorship/TV income,
  4. I've never known English people be less interested in a major football competition - esp' the World Cup - ever. I live in London and you usually see "White van man" with England flags flying everywhere, private cars with flags, pubs decked with flags in and outside. Massive supermarket beer promotions etc. The papers full of it from every angle. Barely anything - maybe the current mood of the nation. From a footballing/marketing perspective it's close to a non-entity compared to usual.
  5. I don't know one but my missus is a doctor in BKK(but we're living in London ) and she said you can get it from a clinic. Persevere with the clinics if you don't wish to go to the hospital.
  6. If you check into a hotel - even for one night, it's their responsibility to do a TM30 - ask them before checking in to ensure they follow government process. Your Airbnb host sounds dodgy so I'd get out of dodge asap and find a more reputable establishment. If they say anything tell them you'll report them to Airbnb re illegal activities which would get them kicked out of Airbnb. Hosts can give you a userid/password so you can submit your own TM30. Signing a blank contract is complete madness.... !!!
  7. Cicada Market is nice to walk around for a couple of hours, do a bit of shopping and have a beer/food - close to Ibis Hotel. I've not been back for 2.5 years due to Covid, but that area was developing greatly before we left.
  8. I doubt Immigration/airline would allow him to go to Thailand without a passport covering his trip. Could be an expensive mistake. Sweden I believe is part of Schengen so he'd also have to prove he's only been in the UK for 90 days in the last 180 ? As the other person said - he needs to contact the Swedish Embassy for a solution.
  9. Many people - including me - say you DO get charged a 220 ATM fee for WISE at the ATM. This was only a few months ago. I don't believe you're correct to say there is no fee !
  10. Without specifying how much it's difficult to say. I'm sure many of us have transferred many, many millions in. Depending on amounts we transfer monies out using DeeMoney
  11. I worked in Singapore a bit and we used to have some guys come from Malaysia to work in the bank - so professional guys. I know at the time they told me they weren't allowed to stay overnight on their licenses & had strict regulations in Singapore. I think Singapore is pretty strict re vehicles regs/licenses. Sounds a nice journey.
  12. Shows how bad the governance is under these companies : New FTX chief says crypto group’s lack of control worse than Enron: https://www.ft.com/content/7e81ed85-8849-4070-a4e4-450195df08d7
  13. What visa did she have when in the UK ? How long have you been out of the UK?
  14. With what is entailed for up to 90 days you believe this is the best option. I'm glad we have experts... I'd give it in if I was you ... No more from me.
  15. Please give it a rest - you don't own threads, even though you think you do . It's a forum for general comment. He's over for 90 days so travel insurance is what he'll require. Why would he go for a retirement visa for a 90 day holiday ?

    Rainy season

It'll be over by Sunday as that's when I arrive ????
  17. Have you ever been to Hull ? I used to go there for weekends out with my brothers who were miners around Selby - it was basically a boxing match weekend ???? Best place was/is Mark in Gibraltar, you could pop into his house on the main street and be out in 5 mins with a new visa. To the OP, we just looked at travel insurance as we're travelling this weekend for 90 days. Staysure were good but their prices seem to have gone up considerably for > 30 days( they now bundle Thailand with USA at the highest rate ). Virgin Travel Insurance are doing good offers for annual insurance, with one leg up to 100 days.
  18. We booked Eva a couple of months ago to travel this weekend - was £765 each in Economy (LHR_BKK_LHR) At the time, Emirates was roughly the same rate, but I prefer to travel direct. Thai was more expensive. We actually chose our seats and submitted passenger info' last night. Never flown Eva before, 90% B.A., then Thai, Emirates. Eva seems to have good baggage allowance - not that I need it.
  19. He did apparently - to his girlfriend's account: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11419415/At-1-billion-client-funds-missing-failed-crypto-firm-FTX-sources.html
  20. If you have time on your hands - via the Caribbean... ????
  21. We got one earlier in the year and loaded a little cash onto it ( pounds ). When the missus went to use it I believe there was a 200+ baht withdrawal fee at the ATM If we transfer pounds to Baht on the card - we just loaded it with pounds( I assume something we can do online ) are we still charged the 200+ ATM withdrawal fee or is that standard as it's a foreign card? .
  22. Is it your mattress - if yes then yes. If not, still ok - but be prepared to pay for a replacement for stains...... The advice of a protector is good - should always have one anyway due to "spillage" ????
  23. I think he should quit Thailand.... ????
