  1. IMO we should be able to buy alcohol from 11am to 2 pm. BUT extending drinking / party hours until 4 am is a ridiculous idea. Just as early risers get up to go to work there'll be pedestrians and drivers wobbly with too much alcohol. And what about the health risks to both revellers and staff? Pathetic idea - hope it doesn't happen . . . .
  2. I suppose that's in contrast to being, 'a sad bitter broken YOUNG man'. Miller is despicable, a puppet on a string . . . .
  3. Eric - Trump IS of course guilty of blatant, persistent and wild corruption. However detailed paedophilia allegations against Trump have not materialised yet. However, Trump might find himself on the rack when the Epstein files are finally seen. Dear Old Andrew is in a similar situation. Even Trump is innocent until proven guilty, (odds on with your take though). Trump is a total sleazebag - however did the beloved USA vote for this idiot?
  4. The criminal shyster that is Trump. must surely be as corrupt as all the other POTUS in history, combined ? He has more than doubled his and his Family's obscene wealth in less than one year by all accounts - it happens in plain view. I am at a loss to understand why MAGA has any supporters left - it can only be explained by the frequent fixes of nonsense offered to the misled 'cult'. Worth a watch
  5. Well I'm not sure that women are generally, worse, or more evil, than men. ATB
  6. YES it does . . . . Fair comment Norfolk !
  7. Cam - I get it but the 'as usual' comes over a bit strong. Neither men or women are perfect . . . . ?
  8. I'm not sure at all what that's got to do with it ? But you could argue that his Royal duties were work - I must admit, I'd hate the things they have to do . . . .
  9. Yes this spongeing sleazebag has been rightly shamed for his sordid behaviour BUT is it being overdone ? Of course he shouldn't continue to live in Royal splendour at our expense, but, until further evidence arrives, should we all calm down ? After all, big house or not, he has already been completely shamed . . . . This caught my eye in the DT. The lovely Annabel Denham comments :- " . . . Am I alone in finding all this slightly ghoulish? Andrew has not been charged, let alone convicted, of any crime under UK law. Bad taste and gormlessness are not illegal, thankfully – our creaking criminal justice system has problems enough. And in trying to disappear Andrew, the Windsors risk creating a bigger problem. It would be unsurprising if an impecunious ex-Royal then wrote a massive book slagging off his brother, his nephew and the rest of the gang. And then went on TV to promote it with Sarah at his side. It would make the Harry and Meghan show look like Sooty and Sweep. As to the laments of “whatever happened to our monarchy”: since when? People cannot seriously be hankering for the days when Kings burned heretics or ducked scolds in ponds. George I imprisoned his daughter-in-law and exiled his son. George IV, as Prince Regent, was a drunk, a debtor, and a womaniser. Queen Victoria’s son Bertie brought his father to an early grave by his behaviour, had a string of mistresses (including Queen Camilla’s great-grandmother), ran up massive gambling debts and was implicated in several scandals. Edward VIII abdicated to marry divorcee Wallis Simpson. Perhaps the hate fest would soften were Andrew to display a modicum of remorse. It has doubtless been intensified by the knowledge many implicated in the dreadful Epstein affair have faced no consequences, unlike the victims who are still waiting for justice. But can anyone believe Andrew has a path to redemption, whatever he does next? Our society is quick to blame and slow to forgive, taking a little too much delight in the downfall of others. I’ve never met him (though as a child I briefly spent time with his nephews and found them to be courteous and well-adjusted), and worry far too many people are far too willing to form condemnatory judgments solely on the basis of third-hand opinions. He doesn’t deserve a comeback tour; obscurity would be kindness enough. Yet the real question might not be what Prince Andrew says about the monarchy, but what this unrelenting scorn says about us." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/10/21/feeling-sorry-for-prince-andrew/ Good fun - food for thought . . . . .
  10. Yes Giuffre might have been a ruthless exploiter of her experiences. However there were many others drawn into the Epstein circle, who have kept quiet with their regrets. It was a seedy scene and Andrew is a sleazebag by all accounts. But time to hold some others to account. Why the suppression of the Epstein files? Does someone have something to hide?
  11. Nova you would be shocked that millions could protest peacefully. Presumably you expect all to act in that fine example of the Trump Republicans, on Jan 6th 2020. Just sour grapes at exemplary and civilised Democrat action.
  12. Hi Jam, thanks for yours. Re. no.1 - you do a cute bit of selective quoting. You should quote the whole sentence . . . which was : " 'Yes it's 'in my head' as a position taken from observing Trump's own comments since he took office." Re. no. 2 - your comment, "strategic forethought" - you talk of Trump? I can hardly stop laughing over that idea. Trump and thought - I mean it's just too much for a soul to bear. Hilarious. And a "rambling rant with no substance" is surely the preserve of Trump himself and his devotees. ATB and BFN
  13. Nova, it's you, be you left or right, that doesn't make any sense today. Myself, I'm 'left' on some things and 'right' on others. I make my mind up on the evidence I see. Try it?
  14. Nova - more big words don't make your bluster more credible. What is more 'concrete' than observing what Trump actually says and does himself?
  15. Thanks Yagoda. I'll wait for John's reply.
  16. Your reply is no more than bluster Nova. I've watched what Trump actually says, (can't get more concrete than that) and it doesn't match what he does. But good try . . . .
  17. Fair comment N - but wouldn't that be an argument against ever defending oneself ?
  18. John - don't keep it your secret. Which Country is that ??
  19. Thanks for the reply Nova. Yes it's 'in my head' as a position taken from observing Trump's own comments since he took office. His actions clearly do not match his words and in the build up to this latest letdown, the contrast is dramatic. I'm interested if you can demonstrate otherwise. Please explain.
  20. Despicable Putin appears to have undue influence over Trump's USA policy in this war. All reports of the recent Trump/Zelensky meeting point to Trump repeating the disgrace of that notorious Oval office meeting many months ago . . . . Trump is apparently pushing demands for Ukraine to give away more of the Donbas region, while he also refuses to supply Ukraine with the long-range missiles they need to defend themselves - (that's despite the fact that Russia has been freely using them, unprovoked, for years). Zelensky's appeals seem to have gone unanswered again. Trump shows a similar reluctance to impose meaningful sanctions. We have to fear for Europe too - hopefully Putin and his like will be ousted or die of old age before NATO countries come under more direct threat. Trump's USA cannot now be relied upon to be there for NATO and Europe? Trump seems more worried about his ballroom than the most serious matters in World affairs. What a sad day it was when he was elected.
  21. Novacova - is it a joke that the 'big beautiful bill' is intended to take healthcare away from 20,000,000 folks (?) and that Trump is wreaking havoc in world affairs, etc. ad nauseam . . . . . Re. S.O.H. - you are delusional. Wake up !
  22. In the face of this weekend's 'No Kings' demonstrations, Trump's solution is to post Truth Social with an AI video of him, wearing a crown and piloting a warplane dropping manure on his civilians. A disgrace to himself and his office in every possible way. Pathetic.
  23. I agree with Johnny. Right or wrong, Giuffre had chosen this jetsetting high life as a youngster and seemed to be enjoying it. Regretting it all later is understandable. The ruthless and protracted money grabbing we now see may have been 'inspired' by others. But R.I.P.
  24. Yellow - "We only differ in that you believe Hamas/Palestine is the better means to that end, and I think the IDF/Israel is the better means to that end". Yellow - I doubt that Jeff thinks exactly as you say - I'd put it this way - "bodies representative of Palestine and Israeli citizens are the means to that end". The Trump 'ceasefire' is fragile as seen already. War criminal Netanyahu has humoured Trump this time, because he already has everything he wanted. Gaza is destroyed, the West Bank subjugated and the 'Two Nation' solution, sidelined to say the least. God help them all !
