  1. Kamala isn't cowardly. It would be just as true to say, that anyone at all who voted for this criminal, is cowardly. God help America . .
  2. Nicky. Nice opportunism with typical Trump type thinking. How any single American could consider voting for this slimy, duplicitous, criminal, sexual abuser absolutely defies me and I seriously worry about all those voters, and the USA and the World that depends on it. I'm mortified. The morons have taken over the asylum. Wake up !
  3. If Harris wins, there'll be an enormous sigh of relief all around the Western World. If Trump wins, God help us ! No alternative then but to sit back and watch the chaos unfold........ The Republicans should have kicked Trump out in 2020 !
  4. Old, NoDisplay and ChiangMai - thanks for the heads up. PwC also list the UK as having DT status although the UK seems missing from some lists. Old - in your earlier post - "Hopefully a tax clearance certificate will not be required for annual extensions". I hope that proves to be the case for my renewal in January. GLA
  5. Old - I wish. Here's another one from 'integrity legal'. MMMmmm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbm8xeIEI3w
  6. Hi Dander. No DTA between Thailand and UK. Yes I pay UK tax under self assessment for 15 years, every 6 months. We'll see as to the rest of it. Forewarned is forearmed ! Thanks all.
  7. Thanks Chiang Mai - so I wonder if I'll get my Visa renewal without Tax Reg, due Jan 31st ? MMMmmmm
  8. Re. my last - It's a shame you jokers who chuckle and confuse don't try a little harder to contribute constructively e.g what are you confused about ?
  9. Thanks very much Chiang Mai. I'm wondering when "tax filing time" next year is ? My inclination is not to rush into tax registration whilst all this is settling down. As these measures progress, I wonder if there will be any recognition that monthly pension payments, particularly private pension payments, do not represent earnings of the previous year as such i.e. they are repayments to me of earnings I made many years previously, in this case, from 1985 to 2008. My 'Retirement Visa' comes up for renewal on 31st January 2025 - I wonder if I will have to be in compliance with a Tax registration, by that stage ? Thanks for your help. It's important because balanced comment on the topic, is hard to find. Hopefully others will have found your answers helpful too. ATB
  10. Rolo - yes but what did you think about the advice he profers ?
  11. Just as an aside, I subscribe to the UK Daily Telegraph. Over recent months I have been shocked to see their coverage of the US election - of course, it's a conservative newspaper but you'd think, until today, that Harris didn't exist. I notice Sky News has been in a similar vein but today, just a little more coverage of Harris. When she's elected (?), they'll just have to face up to it! I still see and read comment that seems to ignore and bypass all the downsides of the revolting Trump - quite how any person or media outlet might take him seriously, in any way, defies imagination. Let's hope, this time tomorrow, we can say 'good riddance' to Trump !
  12. Thanks CM, (other comments welcome of course).
  13. Thanks Chiang Mai. "Source of UK private pension, government related or not? A UK private pension approx THB 600K . . . . + an OAP Married, wife working or not? Partner 10 years not working. Wife files own tax return? No children and their ages? None in Thailand Thai purchased life of health insurance? None Children in higher education in Thailand? None Tax deductible investments in thailand? None So my position is quite simple really ! Any thoughts about this Thanks again. ATB
  14. I've tried to get a grip on this topic - but 73 pages . . . Please can someone with a good grip on this subject, do a 'drop anchor' and give us an update, on this or a new thread, hopefully with some recent links. I am 'Tax Resident' in Thailand and transfer about THB 700K p.a. to Thailand from the UK. My income is UK Statutory pension and a UK Private pension, on which I pay UK income tax. My situation is fairly typical of many I guess. Please help if you can. Thanks
  15. STF - yes a Trump defeat will enliven the 'goons' but hopefully, they can be dealt with, again. Remember the goons have watched many from 2020 get incarcerated for their trouble and the Dems are in residence atm.
  16. I've just noticed a 'Theblether' edit about Ron de Santis - myself I would see him as a disastrous alternative. Regarding, Harris, I was reflecting on how she turned the race around in such a short time since stepping in. The contrast between her energy and Joe's, is stark and vivid. If Joe Biden had not stepped down, it would have been a runaway Trump win. God bless America !
  17. A Trump win would be a disaster and a Harris win would be a triumph for democracy.
  18. I too expect a Harris win - Trump has alienated very large numbers of women, hispanics, immigrants and youngsters and many of his own supporters. The Harris win may be stronger than we expect and then, as John Oliver observes, we will at last be free of this Trump evil . With the Democrats in the White House, hopefully any attempts at insurrection will be swiftly thwarted. I totally disagree with 'Theblether' - Harris not 'shockingly worthless'. Nevermind - Good luck to the USA today.
  19. Trump seems to be an integral part of the 'pro-life' anti Roe v Wade impetus. For me this is hard to understand as Trump is hardly a Man of any moral character in any respect. Oh but of course, he thought it would be a vote winner and that's all there is to it ! Trump's shallow and self-serving nature led him into this moral and electoral mistake. IMHO this address from Michelle Obama at Kalamazoo, Michigan, should be required viewing for errant Republicans - with sledge hammer clarity, she makes the points for all to see. Go back a few seconds to where she says. "To the Men who love us' . . . . .
  20. As a Brit I'm an outsider but I have watched the campaigns throughout in some detail. I believe Harris is going to win and Trump will have to accept that - with the Dems in the 2024 White House, a repeat of the 2020 shenanigans will not be effective. It is evident that Trump has some support on here and I find it hard to fathom. Trump is a seedy disgusting criminal with a revolting personality. A rapist, repeated sexual abuser, a convicted criminal whose pedigree in business includes being a six times bankrupt. A personal and financial sleazebag no less. A repulsive man. Whatever imperfections you may find in Harris, don't hand your nation over to this Trump lunatic !
  21. IMO the Labour Budget was ok - seeking to balance planned current expenditure with current income. As I understand it, extra borrowing will be to finance capital projects which makes reasonable sense. The UK and many Western Nations do though, have an ongoing problem with National Debt and the cost of servicing it. It's not helpful to whinge. We should bear in mind that each human in the UK has, on average, a standard of living that has been indulged, historically, to the tune of £40,000, (that's per man, woman and child), so there'll be lots more pain to come one day whichever Govt. has the misfortune to be in power. As for Reeves efforts, well if anything, it's a bit timid . . . no attempt to address the 'triple lock', (which has to go asap) and no attempt to tackle the murderous future ongoing costs of gold plated Public Service pensions. Putting Stamp Duty on 2nd homes up from 3% to 5% is a paltry effort. A 25% rate would have shown some intent !
  22. Techno H - brilliant post. Thanks. Elsewhere, just seen a description of DT as a 'walking crime wave' and it's hard to argue with that. To any sincere remaining Trump supporters - FGS wake up. I can't see how ANYONE could still support this dangerous moron Trump.
  23. What a silly thread - Biden isn't standing. As prominent Republicans gather behind the Harris campaign, don't you Trump zealots spot the same problems as they do ? How any sane thinker could support Trump after Jan 6 2020 defies belief and indeed, if Trump fails to win, (so that he can pardon himself), he faces spending most of his remaining days in a prison cell. And absolutely hooray for that. He is a mindless, selfish criminal.
  24. OWIEE - Korat Chef have a range of excellent sausages they make themselves. My favourite is the 'Chorizo' but the 'Cumberland' is very good too. Also they have excellent and well priced pies - my own choice is the 'Filet Steak' version. Have a look at their website - when last I asked, they arranged delivery to your local Bus Station. I've tried the Makro range but didn't like them. ATB
  25. Maybe some of the sentencing appears harsh but not to me. Throwing bricks, bottles and even fire bombs IS murderous stuff. And setting fire to buses, police cars, ambulances ? Who pays to buy another bus at c.£250K, or a Police car or ambulance costing maybe £80K ? Answer - WE DO !! Those who incite these riots are also responsible. You could argue that the costs should be recovered from the culprits where possible and that a 5 year sentence is a let off.
