maybe they are happy the way it is and don't want any action with banks, construction companies, various job search requests, design experts, sale teams, incessant bizzare customer complains.
500 Baht Bungalows means no puat hua.
I guess you are right, I was thinking of tax, laundry of bedsheets and towels, electricity running 24/7, water etc......

I noticed a sign in Lamui the other day, it said BED 250 baht.... wow! that's the lowest price i seen anywhere here, to stay... Not sure if it indoors or out!!!

There are a lot of places in Lamai for under 500 baht, some quite newly built as well.
There are places almost all over the island for under 500 baht...

So many places around in all price points, it won't be hard to find something.... OP may need to check once he / she gets here. Book a place for a night or two, and look around the different areas... and decide what suites...
These booking web sites always have pictures making the place look nice, but sometimes years old... time for a new paint job, in some cases!
They often don't have the best deals... from my experience....
I always wonder how places can make a profit when selling Baht 500.- or below.......

You are really silly now aren't you? They are using sticky rice. They are actually doing work on the Maenam sub station right now, ne cabling going in. Butyou sti;; have major supply problems from the source / Kanom ,
Does that mean replacing the chewing gum around the connections?

So - the power cuts are really when the locals eat the sticky rice?

Tonite they eat sticky rice from 6.00pm onwards in Chaweng, all of them from TOP's down to first bungalow. They will be eating for a while.....be prepared!

Even if the damage was already there? I checked it right after the crash and was a really minor crash.. There was no damage whatsoever and the bike functioned perfectly.. 800 is still a rip off..
Which parts of the previous posts you dont understand ?????? Pay the bill and thats it..........If I was the owner of the bike and you would be making such fuss and wasting my time I would slap you........

Sorry, but these things are totally out of order once you are off the beach.
Would anyone walk around the shops in Leningrad, Beijing, Calais, or even the Isle of Wight dressed like that?
I sometimes fail to 'bite my tongue' when I see it in Tesco. (I have never seen it in Big C?)
Totally agree and totally unaceptable, dont even understand why this needs to be brought up and discussed! You are in Thailand......and whether BKK or USM, its a no-no. End of story!

So it is candlelit dinners for the forseeable future?

Yes, it will be, different areas on different days, expect power cuts about every 3 - 4 days until end of August......
Thank you for the update.

That is according to the meeting with tessaban yesterday......pretty much useless as they cannot say when it will happen and where, next time no need to drive from Chaweng to Nathon and come back with no additional info.....pathetic, I agree.

International school (operating as a franchise of a British public school, maybe Eton)
Helicopter tours and transfers (including winch drop directly into the full moon party)
Super casino (this would require Koh Samui to declare independence from Thailand)
Human zoo (exhibiting examples of the various categories of Koh Samui residents)
Best idea so far!

Malaria, is a sickness caused by mosquito bites same as Dengue fever. Last time I looked it wasn't contagious. Adequate protection is advised.
Dengue is actually wide spread on Phangan, Malaria I am not sure...... Many hospitals on Samui have several rooms occupied with patients suffering from Dengue.
Locking your kids in won't help......unless the room is totally sealed off.......it is not contagious anyway......only way to contract is by direct bite of an infected mosquito.

The article about the sparky was far more interesting than most of your posts and much better written.

Play condos in bangrak are a very good buy,i know a few people who have brought them, start at 850,000b.i would buy if had the spare cash.
Would agree to certain extend, price is okay, size with 28 sqm very small, shoebox, but I guess it would suffice for 3 times a year. As far as I know, this project is the cheapest on the market at present.
