  1. Now for some, cost is completely irrelevant. If you can afford to stay at the Banyon Tree Samui (cheapest rooms are about 40,000 baht a night),

you can get some deals for 31,000 THB ... but the whole hotel is FULLY BOOKED for April, and not many rooms left for May !, plus they charge around 350 THB plus tax and service charge for a Beer, and 500 THB for Fried Rice..

But the beer is cold & the rice is yummy.licklips.gif

Their present net rate is only 12-14,000......not that bad....and May have plenty of rooms left. Just book :)

  2. What kind of work?

Well, it probably does not matter that much what work it will be, if its a full time job, the chances of finding someone permanently are rather slim.

Try Burmese instead.....(unless its an office job). Good luck.....

  3. Some billboards around Thong Sala:

    post-58494-0-42708600-1331701516_thumb.j

They say something like " Thank you Mr. Phum (I think a big authority in KPG) to support Kan Air to arrive in KPG."

And something like the works are in progress already.

So maybe the too big road Bantai-Thong Nai Pan with the huge roundabout after Than SAdet now has a better sense.

Thank you for picking this up Mr. Anguid !

  4. Holy moley...shock1.gif . I've not been to Pai for a few years now, I don't think they had these fandagled flying machines then... biggrin.png but is 1490 baht from CM! I remember paying 60 baht on the public bus, a nice 3 hour drive if I remember....ohmy.png

So wonder what they will charge to TNP ...and from where???? .... and then the taxi to other parts of KP... ?

Cessna would make sense on a small runway...

From the picture....... Obviously an artists rendering of the run way, mountains far away! and very large grassy area on each side... happy.png

I am pretty certain from the party I know, who's involved with this project, it is private funded and not Government ... but one assumes there will be some Government regulations they would need to follow?

    coffee1.gifnow back to that coffee!

Actually, the Chiang Mai - Pai ride is not too bad, have used it twice. No price guideline yet for Phangan, and their first route will be from Phuket.

  5. I wonder how well these jets land on steep hills? As far as I am aware there is not any continuous flat area anywhere near TNP for a plane to land.

I did not say anything about jets.....I also mentioned landing strip. I am not living on Phangan, but next time you are around Tansadet waterfall near Kung Bungalow, have a look if you can spot the clearing (or the started clearing) of a 1.5 km long area.

  6. I did report on this several months ago.... although I think Party Girl has been listening to to many bar rumours....about size anyway! rolleyes.gifbiggrin.png

Not anywhere close to 747 jumbos, but for the elite class with small jets, and supposedly somewhere towards Tong Nai Pan... ? That's what I was told by one who is involved with this... to what extent I am really not sure....

I heard recently that the road to Tong Nai Pan is being or has now been concreted... all the way ?? I've not been there except by boat and that was a few years ago now...

Time will tell, whether myth or fact! smile.png

Well, keep on haveing fun lads, just remmeber you read it here first ! coffee1.gif

  7. For a visa or an extension of stay?

    Retirement extension:

800,000 in the bank for 3 months

    OR

    65,000 a month

    OR

a combination of money in the bank and yearly income, totaling 800,000.

Income from abroad must be certified by your embassy.

Absolutely correct ! Should mention min. 50 years of age ?
