  1. I think you mean delusional. Same as the guys who married Thai women that support them. Never met any man that actually got free sex, but met plenty who claimed it. Don't know why so many men want to pretend it's free. Does anyone believe them? Not me!
  2. My daughter is after a job in customs. She says the wages are rubbish, but the tips from customers are amazing. "How much of a tip can you give me for not looking in that container?"
  3. Why not Thai Baht? Plenty of YaBa, YaIce, prostitution money not to mention government skimming that all needs to appear legit. There was a big name foreigner restaurant chain in CM well known for being a front for money laundering. Thailand is floating in a sea of local and international money laundering. Not sure nail salons/hairdressers/coffee shops would have enough potential turnover to be of interest. More like restaurants, shopping malls, and weed shops (seen plenty of these empty for years).
  4. The PWA in Chiang Mai have a line account for bill payment. กปภ.ใสาขาเชียงใหม All you need is your account number
  5. My previous 5y Thai license had Thai only. My new 5y Thai license (from March) has Thai and English.
  6. When you pretend to sell very small amounts of unregulated something for 500bht/gm, the opportunity for money laundering is immense. The shops only need 'pretend' customers.
  7. Would have thought the 3bht/gm brick from Laos would be of greater concern than the 500bht/gm flower from the USA.
  8. All my male ancestors were either dead or demented by age 70. I'm 67 and not expecting much more time, but hoping for the death option over the demented option. I'm not a believer or an atheist, more a don't really care.
  9. This is the one I have (but with a Suoer label on it). https://www.lazada.co.th/products/grid-tie-inverter-scl-fti-d1000b-1000vafti-d600b-600va-monitor-pure-sine-i2481341480-s8742948948.html
  10. Same deal with my Brit wife. Except she had me escorted away and kept my home. The sudden exits are a woman thing, not a hooker thing. When I see the 'bargirls bad' posts, I think to myself this guy never managed a LTR in his home country.
  11. Agreed with most of your post, but would suggest at 500bht/gm many would like to see and smell the product they are being sold. I didn't even buy from the guys sitting on m/cs outside Thai/Khmer/Viet clubs without smelling the $10 bag contents first.
  12. That's true, all my professional associates in the west preferred cocaine. The company parties even provided alcohol and cocaine free to guests.
  13. Never had a problem finding a gf/wife in the west. The problem was always that I couldn't afford to lose my home and keep starting over again with nothing.
  14. I don't think cannabis will make Thai society worse than it already is. Road safety, morality, social values ............. non-existent. Corruption ........ pervasive at all levels of government, business and society. Prostitution .......... every where. Domestic violence ......... completely out of control. But the petty theft that makes our western societies so unpleasant is surprisingly almost completely absent. I'd choose to live here just to avoid the random muggings, stabbings and break-ins that are rampant in the UK.
  15. My local weed shop is in a 100%Thai area full of students and middle class Thais. I've never seen a customer in there EVER, guess the owners are the same people that own Top Charoen opticians..
  16. Mostly wind turbines in the UK as there's not much sun. The solar farms tend to go bust at huge expense to the local authorities that invested much taxpayer money in them. This was 53 solar farms ....... not one, so 53 security guys and panel cleaners. https://www.energylivenews.com/2023/01/04/solar-firms-debt-to-local-authority-rises-to-692m/
  17. I bought 2 of the lamps I use in 2020 (start of COVID). It's 2023 now and they are both still fully functional, no dead LEDs.
  18. Permission of freedom to marry (required for Thai marriage) from the Laos consulate/Embassy wouldn't be granted. But apparently they could get married in Hong Kong, but it wouldn't be legit in Laos, so the man would never be able to enter that country without risking arrest.
  19. You can delete the ? and everything after it from links, the extra is just personal data collection. I haven't used those multi-bar type lamps, but they look legit at 4,000bht.
  20. Here's a link for you to read .......... https://www.laoslife.info/marriage-in-laos/#:~:text=Marriage in Laos for Foreigners&text=Actually getting married to a,of local and provincial authorities.
  21. Didn't think it was possible for a white foreigner to marry a Laos girl. Many difficult hoops to jump. Better to see if you CAN marry her before you discuss money.
  22. If you don't care it's definitely cheaper to buy brick at 3kbht/kg. Don't waste money on anything apart from the lamp! Remember, you can't go away for 3 months when you start growing. Most people give up and get ZERO ROI.
  23. I'm producing a decent crop with no air-con. But the current 40c isn't good for growing cannabis, Nov/Dec/Jan was fine. I've about 6oz from my winter grow, cost me nothing but my time.
