The Major has just been arrested ...... unless he's very silly, they'll hold him a few days, then he'll be bailed. You need real evidence to keep them locked up! In both cases, no evidence there was a murder.

If you co-habit with a woman in the west it's her house, no matter what name is on the deed. The judge just signs it over to her, you might get to keep 50% in the end, but you won't be living there while the decision is made. At least here, I know who owns the house right from the get go!.

Agree, wife/gf stealing/destroying your credit cards, bank books and passport is very common, Maybe not to steal from you, but just to cause you problems. Thai Debit cards, the ladies like to swap theirs with yours, you don't know its gone and if you try to use the ATM card they leave in your wallet, it just doesn't work and you think it's a bank problem. Then they have plenty of time to drain.

And I can confirm it! Government hospitals are almost 100% natural births. When my wife went in they had about 25 women in labour. The only unnatural aspect was they induced some of the births earlier to ensure they didn't get 25 coming out at the same time that night. All delivered by midwife under the supervision of a doctor. Maybe Richard is talking about stats for private hospitals. They're notoriously greedy and c-sections mean more profits.

That's actually true, I was back there in 2016, and almost nobody I encountered around Bayswater Road spoke English as a first language. The studio apartment I lived in (overlooking Kensington Gardens), all the other residents (14) appeared to have Latino names of some sort. All the shop workers around Queensway were clearly from the Indian and Asian continents. I even encountered a Thai ladyboy while walking in Kensington gardens. The only decent English speakers I encountered were the Black British people operating the underground at Bayswater and Queensway tube stations. Not at all what I was expecting, but everyone was surprisingly helpful and polite.

You can't trust any of them, but we've tried everyone else, and this is the last guy left we haven't tried. He might turn out to be an untrustworthy crook, but that won't make our lives any worse.

Another slightly odd story, as this is (near enough) what happened to me, everything was paid (despite the car driver not co-operating), and the police and the courts sorted it all out at no expense to myself. It did take 19 months for the entire process, so not quick.
