  1. Sea levels seem pretty constant to me over the past 100 years. Obviously before photographs, it would be hard to tell. If you think climate change can be controlled, what do you personally do in an attempt to stop it? I've converted my home to off-grid solar, and charge my own EV car and EV bike from my solar. But I'm a lunatic, while you're a hypocrite!
  2. I may be noticing it more because I'm 70 now, and my wife working for them, but in the past I didn't see it. Oddly, the old folk I encounter don't seem that short of money, they just have little access to support from other people when they most need it.
  3. Got mine from Bangkok E-bike, 35,000bht inc delivery It's worked perfectly since new last year, 7,000Km so far. Was worried about Trinx ...... but it's actually the best bicycle I've ever owned.
  4. No, you were completely off topic. Old people have no choices, single moms have only themselves to blame, and they have the ability to work. Being a mom isn't an illness, it's a personal choice.
  5. As the country has no home help, or social services network my misses spends a lot of her time with elderly and sick people. They pay her for her time, different to the west which pays them through government funding. But I'm noticing more and more elderly that just can't cope on their own. Hospitals require patients to have their own helpers, many elderly aren't mobile enough to go shopping alone, or can't cope with officialdom, or are just housebound and on their own all the time. The close family social network that used to help them seems to be breaking, just as it's done in the west and I wonder where it will all end? My misses doesn't have enough time to help them all, this morning taking a 63yo retired Thai lady to the market, (met her in hospital when visiting 80yo lady) this afternoon will be with a 70yo lady that's lonely, (lives at the end of our road) tomorrow 8hrs in hospital with an 80yo lady What's happening to the world? Why does nobody help the elderly any more? Are we really all this selfish? This is a problem many of us are facing, some sooner than others.
  6. Climate changes, nothing we can do about it, no point in destroying our civilization to try and stop the unstoppable. Sea levels rising, complete nonsense .......
  7. I think the problem is Bangkok bank, not wise. I'm also going to open a Kasikorn account.
  8. No more tiktok, tweets, Facebook ...... What will all those women do on their phones all day .... Candy crush?
  9. Starving Palestinian kids Or Well fed Jewish kids?
  10. Update, Suddenly my account changed to pay out on 2nd Oct. And just as suddenly I regained the ability to cancel. So I cancelled the transfer at 43.3 and rebooked at 43.5 Still scheduled for pay out on 2nd Oct., but 220bht more.
  11. Yeah, my hand drawn clown map has the GPS coords on it, they want a pretty drawing.
  12. 16 years back paid off the loan on her family farm (100kbht), and promised her mom 3kbht/month. In return our son gets the farm when mom dies (farm already in wifes name), and mom agrees not to live with us, ever! Didn't think it was a bad deal.
  13. Yes, still waiting for my transfer from Monday 29 to arrive, same message. Looks like WISE is having a problem ......... again!
  14. Same for me on a Monday (29) transfer ETA Tuesday. Tuesday (30), your money is taking longer than expected (can't cancel) Wednesday (01), your money is taking longer than expected (can't cancel) Bloody pain!
  15. Was in town yesterday (immigration) Lunch Time (12:00) at KuaLek cafe, sun was shining, river was a lot lower than the weekend Driving home at 1:45pm, torrential rain, river visibly a lot higher. The heavy rain continued until 6:45am this morning.
  16. No, it was good enough, Tulsa King has got a bit silly though.
  17. Marriage extension So Bangkok bank letter, 400k frozen for 4 months before they give me the letter. They wanted to give me a load of BS about why they had to do it. I told them I've signed the agreement, so no need for the BS, just give me the letter. Along with a 6 months statement. Immigration the next day Packed out, but they've done away with the volunteer document checkers so much quicker. Lots of new silly forms (4 outside) to fill out and sign, mostly in Thai, they insisted I fill them in even though I didn't have a clue, no problem they just want random stuff written. 8 photos now required (2 inside house, 2 outside house with house number visible x2) Arrived 8:15 for outside number, had my inside number by 9:30 ..... come back after lunch at 1pm. After lunch at 1pm seen first, 2 more nonsense forms to fill, one for her, one for me, all the new (4 x2) Thai forms got whited out, and the immigration officer filled whatever nonsense she liked on them. Didn't like my passport photos, want bigger ones now on a white or blue background, but OK for this time. Didn't like the map I drew, not pretty enough, but OK for this time. Out by 1:35pm Other new rule, 90 day ends when last extension ends, new 90 day required for under consideration period in person only, not online. But at least the in person can be done using the drive through ...... the extra visit to immigration is a pain! Improvements, They didn't make me update my bank book, day before was good enough ........ was surprised! They didn't want to keep the original KS2, handed it back, made a copy themselves, said I can use the KS2 again next year ..... was surprised!
  18. I was doing both at the same time, it was amazing. Too old for the extra hos now, just my wife, and she's pretty great.
  19. Starmer is busy unifying the UK with millions of Muslim illegals arriving and being put up in nice hotels and police stormtroopers arresting white folk for nasty tweets.
  20. You're supposed to haggle ...... she would have come down to 1M.
  21. 2010s when I was in my 50s ....... was banging my way through the spinners of SEA. With excessive cycling and running through the jungles and mountains.
