Better be quick then. The following was only posted yesterday pointing out fresh caps on how many times you can pretend to be a tourist in Vietnam. It already has about 11 pages of righteous indignation, shock and talk of coffin nails.
As a Brit I can be a tourist in Vietnam for 2 weeks with no VISA at all, as many times as I like (as long as I'm out for a month between visits).
I go so often they've hijacked the last pages of my passport, so they can keep all the stamps together.

Not worth bothering about is it? The average increase 1-2% is peanuts and certainly not worth moving around countries to get. OK after 10-20 years the compound effect can be substantial but at that stage (if you are still breathing) do you care.
In the last 4 years, the compound effect would have been 1,000 pounds/year.
Hardly peanuts!

Yes but you have to face facts ,its mainly Muslims who carry it out , especially those in Africa ,but in the west we have been closed down by the thought police and are now to frightened to say or do anything against this faith ,apart from the fact that if you do say anything ,you get death threats .
Most American men have experienced 'genital cutting', how come nobody worries about them?

Regarding Cannabis, local legal growing (home or commerical, if approved) may require specific "government approved" genetics, with only Thai landraces and/or recent back-crosses with Thai landraces. Another guess, 6-plants, if approved, would require one to register to get approved seeds or cuttings.
How could they possibly tell what plant you were growing, or it's 'genetics'?
They all look the same for the first 6 weeks, and there's no THC/CBD content until they've been flowering a while.
(So a friend tells me)

Never tell anyone back home, where you're going, what you've been doing, or where you've been.
They don't need to know, and will only gossip and badmouth you if they do.

Suddenly this brit comes rushing down yelling at the top of his voice.
Apparently his wife had called from the Uk and the Thai man at the switchboard told
her....him not talk, him with lady....the woman divorced him over the phone.
He immediately ran up and came down 5 minutes later and hopped into a cab for the airport.
He's just arrived on a 2 week holiday the night before. They outed him ...and thats exactly what these
you tubers are doing.
Doesn't seem likely.
Who tells anyone where they're staying these days? Switchboard at hotel? Was this 25 years ago?
Everyone I know has a mobile phone, and uses 'Line' or 'Messenger' to communicate with their wife.
Ever tried to contact someone through hotel reception, not possible even in person with their full name.
Thais don't know (or care) who you are, or who you're with, certainly not a tourist on the first day of a 2 week holiday. We all look the same to them.
Your story is not credible.

doctors in a smaller city most likly work in the goverment hospital and the private hospital so same doctor delivery.
Problem with your theory being, doctors rarely deliver babies in government hospitals, nearly all delivery by midwife.
There's a doctor supervising the ward, but 10-20 babies all coming out at the same time.
It even says, "Delivery by nurse" on my kid's birth certificate.

Maybe in the west but I know three cases where due to the women having a c section first time around the hospitals have said theyhad to have c section again, why I do not know,
It's outdated medical training, it was the same in the UK in the 1980s, but newer methods moved on from that.
Another one they like to try on is foreigner babies are too big to be delivered naturally by Thai ladies, complete BS of course.

I presume this pot smoking lot is not concerned with the air pollution. That smoke has to be three times worse. Then drawing into ones lungs and holding it as long as possible. It's fine as a stupid kid. People over 50 should really have a clue. Then you get the idiot Europeans that mix tobacco and ganja. Pure genius there.
I'd vape, but it's against the law.

Your missing the point, if you haven’t lived in the UK and out with the EU for 6 months even if you are a British Citizen you lose the entitlement to free NHS Treatment, George Osborne introduced this rule.
No, you're missing the point,
And that point is, how would they know, if you don't tell them?

Thanks very much for the replies.
I am beginning to think it is not worth trying to get the increases over the next 5 years. I don't want to go to the UK at all and it would not be practical for me to spend 6 months in the Philippines.
However, in 5 years time I could easily spend 6 months in the Philippines and get the new rate at that date.
If I went to the Philippines for 6 months and then returned to LOS, would I keep the new rate permanently?
Thanks again for your advice
Why do you feel the need to declare where you are?
I've never told anyone in the UK where I am, where I've been, or where I'm going.
It's none of their business.
Return flights to the PI are around 8kbht, go for a week, claim your pension, fly back.
In 3-5 years if your pension stops, fly to the PI, claim you're still alive, fly back.

Surely no one is actually worried about 260 GBP a year? that's a dinner at a nice restaurant for four.
I'm not worried about 260 pounds/year either.
But after 4 years that becomes 1,000 pounds a year less.
After 8 years, you're getting 2,000 pounds/year less than your peers back in the UK (or over in the Philippines).

That's why they're going for 12 - 20 K Euros. Nobody wants one even as a free gift.
About half the posters on TV live in rural Issan, can't see rural France being much different.
At least the cheese and wine will be more affordable.
I can ignore French speaking neighbours as easily as I ignore Thai speaking neighbours.

Saying that to any Thai would be potentially risking your life.

When my daughter lived in Croydon and attended the Doctor/Hospital she had to produce ID, her Passport to prove she was a UK Resident, not sure what they would say if she had said she didn’t have a Passport.
When I attend the hospital they always ask my if I have lived in the UK for the previous 6 months, it’s up to the individual how they reply to that.
They just ask me my GPs name, and that's always been good enough.
They do have computers, they can check you are registered.
But then I'm white, is your daughter white?
I don't have a passport, British Citizens aren't required to carry or produce ID.

There is no level playing field, if you spend more than 6 months in Thailand you lose NHS free treatment
That's not actually true, unless you're daft enough to walk into your local doctor and claim you're living overseas.
Still registered with my UK doctor after being away 10+ years, still got my EHIC card for claiming free health care in the EU (but that might get cancelled 1 year after Brexit). I've still got the option of declaring PR in France before the end of the year.

Could someone please confirm this, or is it the case that as I first received my pension in Thailand I cannot now receive it outside the UK in the Philippines if I want the annual increase.
If you really must tell them you're outside the UK (no relatives or friends in the UK?)
I'd move to the Philippines for a month before claiming the pension (paid into a UK bank account), how could they tell where you went after the initial claim?
Best not to phone them, they can see your phone number so it tips them off you're overseas.
Best not to be too open in this forum, or in private messages, rumour has it one poster tries to discover your real name, then reports you to the DWP as being overseas.

Vietnam puts the kibosh on foreigners
in Visas and migration to other countries

As far as I'm concerned, 'living it up' means having a younger woman press against me while I'm drinking a beer.
I manage that most days, without even having to leave my house.
What's your definition of 'living it up'?
