That's what should be of concern because that's when things get serious. There is an acute housing shortage in the UK and quite likely the case in other Western countries as well.
Still plenty of run-down Farm houses and farms in France for 12,000-20,000 Euros.

As for Vietnam I like it as a tourist destination but have never given any serious thought to living there.
Me too!
Vietnam is perfect for a weeks holiday and a new VISA.

So it's all "he said, she said", happened years ago when she made no complaint, no evidence at all.
Why is he even in court?

It seems that you’ve concluded that because Spain has cheaper supermarkets and toiletries, it’s cheaper overall, despite Thailand having cheaper rents, fuel, electricity and water. You must use an extraordinary amount of toiletries!
The only comparison worth making is accommodation and local taxes.
I don't have to drive a car, or eat in restaurants but ............
In the UK I can barely afford to live in a bedsit.
In Thailand I can easily afford to live in a 3 bed house with a garden.

Horrible story, but in some ways you're right, the world is a very odd place.
In the west we give women choices, and their choice is usually not to breed with us.

So are the patients Chinese or Brits?
None of the reporters seem to be saying so I'll assume they're Chinese.

But that completely neglects the number of tourists, and also the effect on GDP since the UK's GDP is so much higher than, for example, Thailand's. A billion pounds less spent by Thai tourists in the the UK has less of an effect than a billion pounds less spent by Brits in Thailand.
So I still contend that SEA has a lot more to lose if they <deleted> off British tourists than the UK has to lose if they were to drive off SEA tourists. Same for all the western Euro states and the former commonwealth nations.
There's only three Thai tourists in the EU that count. Thaksin, Yingluck, and the guy that lives in Germany.
It's a funny old world where all the plebs in the EU want to live in Thailand, and all the knobs in Thailand want to live in the EU.
I imagine Prayut will join them once his turn sitting in the big chair is over.

I deposited exactly the B400,000 as required and had to let the money sit there (interest free I will add).
Also, why in an interest free account, I get interest on all my Bangkok Bank and TMB accounts.
The interest might be small, but it's always enough to pay my SMS and Debit card fees.

Almost certainly SEA tourists in the UK, as you need at least 50 quid a night, just for a room.
I rarely spend more than 25 pounds for my entire day anywhere in Asia.

Try this 3 bed house at Hang Dong, 7k/month. (https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2626690480908532/)

I guess those people, who live on benefits are not so much EU citizens, but from elsewhere.
The EU accounts for 7% of the worlds population, and 50% of the worlds welfare payments.

I have never been in your situation, but from following all of this, maybe you still do have a chance to avoid IDC/deportation. I agree with going to police station and see what is necessary to get your passport back (so you can fly home).
I'd ask my Consulate for emergency travel documents and be on the next flight out.

Nothing is going to be 'reasonably priced" so I suggest iHerb.
I bought a 4oz bottle of Silymarin powder ages ago. You only take 1/8 tsp. It lasts forever. If you just buy 1 bottle at $16 bucks and change, the shipping is steep ($11+). If you shop and buy additional items you can get the shipping down to a reasonable price. I'll usually buy $40 worth of stuff which drops shipping price significantly and ship it via the SF Express option which is fast and offers a tracking number. Delivered to your door by courier. Just a thought. I don't buy any supplements in Thailand. It's a waste of money. iHerb is the best option. Imho.
https://th.iherb.com/pr/Now-Foods-Silymarin-Pure-Powder-4-oz-113-g/69201IHerb offer free shipping to Thailand these days.
You're way out of date.

Can you drink alcohol with doxasosin?
Yeah, you take it before you go to bed so any dizziness happens when you're asleep.
Get drunk in the afternoon/evening, pills before bed, no problems.
Don't get out of bed too fast for a wee in the night.

The point I was making was that if she hadn't changed her name then they couldn't ask for the name change paperwork could they?
Doesn't matter his story is off, she couldn't email him copies as they insist on seeing the original Marriage Certificate.

Not every Thai lady changes her family name upon marriage to a foreigner.
In fact, years ago, it was a bad move to do so as under Thai law they were no longer eligible to own land. That was changed sometime during the 90's if I remember correctly, possibly after the IMF bailout in 1997.
Wouldn't matter, both names would be on the marriage certificate.
Up to her which one she uses after the marriage, on her ID, house book and passport.

For those regular visitors, what's the best budget airline from Chiang Mai to Hanoi?
Air Asia, look on Skyscanner for the prices for the whole month.
I usually pay 2,400bht - 3,000bht return.
Saigon is more expensive as Air Asia have dropped the route this year, and VietJet want 5k return.

Please just a clarification.
I am a UK citizen. Is it true I can fly to Vietnam, and as long as I have a return flight in 15 days, the visa is free on arrival?
I intend to fly from Utapo airport to Ho Chi Minh City.
No VISA required, VISA waiver, I go there 4x a year no problems at all.
All the Americans and Aussies have to queue at the VISA on Arrival desk, while I walk straight through immigration.
Bus from the airport to the town centre (September park) is $1 (or 20kvnd).

UK State Pension Increases - trying to understand
in Home Country Forum
Posted
If you really must tell them you're outside the UK (no relatives or friends in the UK?)
I'd move to the Philippines for a month before claiming the pension (paid into a UK bank account), how could they tell where you went after the initial claim?
Best not to phone them, they can see your phone number so it tips them off you're overseas.
Best not to be too open in this forum, or in private messages, rumour has it one poster tries to discover your real name, then reports you to the DWP as being overseas.
