  1. No. This is not America. This is Thailand. Stop the cultural infestation nonsense. I watch the Thais and tip when they tip and how they tip. I was in a hotel in Malaysia a few weeks ago when the cleaning staff saw me go to my room. He knocked on my door just to say hello and ask me where I was from. He said he loves it when Americans stay because they leave him big tips. Then he stood there waiting for something. He got nothing.
  2. None of the fungal creams ever worked for me except for ringworm. Nail fungus (amount other skin ailments) were only cured using 2 home remedies. For those dark places, Listerine Original (not the flavored), or rubbing alcohol. For nails, a soak in bleach for 3 minutes a day was amazing. Dilute with water if needed. It was VERY effective. I tried vinegar, it didn't work.
  3. Agree with everything Sheryl and others above have said. What I like the most about Dr. Donna is that she will talk to you about your problem and discuss openly various treatments. She will let you make an informed decision. Try that with a Thai doctor and they give you a quiet stare.
  4. Next to the police box at Suk soi 4, there is an internet shop. Go up the stairs, print whatever you want.
  5. Get the English then have a translation service translate it into Thai. Keep both English and Thai on the Will, and you are good to go. A fraction the cost of a lawyer.
  6. Sounds like telephone zombies around the BTS and MRT. Blindly bump into something(someone), and change direction.
  7. YouTube. Many ingenious and hilarious DIY rat traps to enjoy.
  8. My U.S employer just announced that they are switching all company phone numbers over to Zoom telephone. No more hand held phones, it rings on your computer. Maybe this will solve your problem? I haven't checked but it could be a solution.
  9. I thought about using this option also. But the price was a little high. Now I just use my sister's number and she texts me with the security code every time she gets it.
  10. I had a cyst the size of a pea removed from my hand at Bangkok Christian, about 7000bht (other private hospitals wanted 30,000bht). None of that nonsense you described. The price included biopsy, and a return in 10 days for stiches removal. Great job.
  11. Why planning 3 meals a day? As my uncle always said, "I eat when I am hungry, sleep when I am tired, and wake up when I am rested." Now doctors are promoting the benefits of intermittent fasting. Keeping your food intake to only 4-6 hrs per day. We all need carbs, but the excess consumption is making everyone fat. I currently don't eat until lunch and feel great.
  12. Also, don't rule it out. I have seen similar on TV where it was a fly larva growing under the skin. Mostly occurs in Africa, but worth taking note.
  13. I have used 005 which is supposed to be one of the cheapest. Very satisfied, but sometimes quality is hit and miss. Also Skype, which I have been most happiest with when connected to WiFi.
  14. I stopped going to Major for this reason and only go to SF Cinema City. They still take cash. The prepaid cards always have money left over you don't use. Vote with your feet.
  15. I have used AIG a few times when traveling to the U.S. Signed up online. Reasonable prices.
  16. From your bank's online app. Assuming that you have a Thailand bank account, you can add the electric company to your bill pay list. Free and easy.

    MRT

Deserted. Ever since Covid-19. You can even get a seat.
  18. Do you speak fluent Thai? If not, good luck with that. They have no interest, why should they? Lot's of handsome rich Thai guys around.
  19. I had my lower lids done by Dr. Greechart at Yanhee. Not sure if he is still there, but you can check. I am extremely satisfied with everything except for the long wait to see him. He is very popular. In fact, after a month when I saw him, I said he could have removed more skin, but he basically said "Not worth the risk, you can always do it again." As someone said above, it lasts a few years. Maybe in 10 years you will want to do it again. That's growing old, nothing lasts forever. Good luck.
  20. I agree with others that your prospects are grim. Little hope for you unless you are over 50, and you can then convert to an extension based on retirement if you meet the criteria.
  21. Yok Yor Cruise. It is toned down for a more local crowd. Saffron Cruise. Very high-so for a more sophisticated crowd. Dinner jacket type of cruise. No thumping base and screaming dancing girls.
  22. Traffic noise is something to consider. I prefer a quiet soi. Can't sleep with loud motorbikes and cars.
  23. Be forewarned. People have been arrested and deported for this without the proper VISA. Welcome to Thailand.
  24. I would leave and tell the owner why. Even requesting I.D's from family and friends is inappropriate.
  25. Borax (Lazada), + sugar. A little stove top heat to melt together. Dip in some cotton buds and problem solved. Trust me. They never came back.
