  1. Thanks and added the tip to my Lazada shopping cart. I've seen those syringes at the pharmacy. Thanks for the help!
  2. That doesn't make much economic sense but is exactly what governments implement. How many lives saved and at what cost. If I had time I could think of a thousand other things that would be more economically viable and therefore safe more lives and reduce suffering, Probably worth a few votes though...
  3. I just used a small condiment tray and snorted it. Seemed to do the trick but tomorrow will show the pic above to the pharmacy in town
  4. I think you might be right. I actually had a translated letter with me describing my situation in Pattaya a few months ago. Thought it would make it easier because in the past they always prescribe something that does nothing for me and we spend 10 minutes talking before they finally prescribe Pseudoephedrine. Today I showed the nurse the note below which basically states I need pseudoephedrine and it is the only thing that works the last 30 years. pseudoephedrine เป็นยาตัวเดียวที่ช่วยฉันได้ในอเมริกาและไทยในช่วง 30 ปีที่ผ่านมา She asked the doctor and came back and told me they didn't have it at the hospital. I thanked her and got up to leave telling her I no longer needed to talk to the doctor. She waivered, I think I don't resemble a drug addict :), and told me to wait a minute and went back to the doctor but same result. I think the doctor didn't want to be bothered which I understand. Small hospital and many patients. The same doctor doesn't understand why I get blood work 1-2 times a year. He has more important things to do.
  5. 15 minute now and nasal flood has stopped. Maybe my sinuses were trying to clear something out and the sinus flushing did just that. To good to be true but maybe...
  6. That is what I've done 20+ times the last 10 years but the last two refused, I get the impression they are scared but not sure. I'm in small town on the Mekhong river but the same happened in Pattaya hospital a few months back.
  7. Interesting and thank you for taking the time to help. I wonder if that is why doctors online recommend mixing baking soda(anti-bacterial) with the salt. I just finished about 1/2 cup salt solution and it seems to be already working if that is even possible. I'm desperate:) Have a marathon in a few weeks and not being able to breath or train is not ideal.
  8. But the ban in 2012 did not include hospitals and I've always, until 2023, been able to get it at hospitals.
  9. The hospital recommended a clinic in town but I assumed they were just trying to get rid of me. Closed now but open tomorrow and usually packed. Probably have to wait 2 hours with a lot of sick people but there is HOPE!
  10. OK, think I'll give this a try. The hospital told me they don't have pseudoephedrine . Just a few years ago I got it every hospital after the pharmacy ban in 2012. My sinus infections are nasty and I'll do almost anything. Where do you acquire xylitol and I assume you aren't using the 2 cups detailed in your directions above all at once. One syringe? I wonder if prolific nasal salt cleansing might help without the xylitol.
  11. Thanks but I've tried so may other alternatives and I just want what I know works. Maybe I'll go to the hospital now and see if they will give me some pseudoephedrine. If they do I will be 100% by tomorrow morning.
  12. I have no idea how some posters don't understand this and I would bet the average Chinese here spends much more than the average Ex-pat. There shear numbers does create many frustrating situations for us ex-pats but doesn't alter the fact that their impact on the Thai economy is far greater than retirees. I moved because of them years ago but this doesn't make them bad people or cheap.
  13. I have always had to beg for more than 10 tablets but never been refused before at a hospital. Usually after a few minutes of begging I get 50 pills which will last 1 year. When my sinuses act up, I need the pills ASAP and I'm fine in 24 hours. Nothing else works for me and other pills they have tried to tell me work do absolutely nothing. Has anyone else been refused lately? Hoping I can go to a different hospital.
  14. They dwarf any other country in total money spent. believe what you want I guess.
  15. Only a handful of countries are eligible. Great option for Brits but most others won't be eligible. Americans could opt for the physical card but it has to activated within the USA.
  16. Glad it has worked out well for you. I listen to doctors and do my own research which has worked for me. We are both still here so hard to tell who has the best plan. Cheers
  17. You can pay bill with Wise? Atm's are considered international transfers? Not trying to be difficult here but I don't see these as clear cut solutions. I think the ATM should work and plan on using mine. I get reimbursed for any fees charged at Thailand ATMs which make the process even easier. In the end I doubt this new reg will impact retirees but worth preparing for if easy.
  18. He is probably right but I would do my own research and question him if needed. It seems like you have some health issues that sodium exacerbates. I have received conflicting advice from many physicians over the last 30 years. As for "ME" loads of extra sodium is a necessity if I want to be in top form. If I exercised little or exercised in cool weather I wouldn't need nearly as much. My advice is to learn how sodium interacts with electrolytes and learn how to read your blood numbers. A CBC blood test costs 300 baht here and lots of easy to understand numbers that paint a picture of your general health.
  19. Having the sense to realize the woman will make you happier than chasing new highs is difficult here. Too many great women have slipped by while I was chasing something fresh. How I manage to realize the woman I've been with for 3 years was special is beyond me but stupid me figured it out within a week and I became the best man I could be in her eyes. Two loners that have had quite an adventure.
  20. There are many workarounds but fail to see how Wise is one of them. I'm sure I' missing something.
  21. I always take sodium with my bananas. Sodium gets a bad rap and really depends on the individual. I would guess I'm adding 3-7 tsp a day to my water. Less cramping and also feel much better doing cardio exercises.
  22. Lots of truth in the above but isn't Bob being somewhat sarcastic? Maybe not... I'm in an incredible relationship now that for the first six months had nothing to do with money. Covid changed this but now, three years later, her income sources have recovered for the most part and we both do what we want with our money. If things change in the future, I'll gladly jump in to help her financially. Women are naturally inclined ( not guaranteed ) to seek men that are financially stable. It is in their DNA and I doubt evolution will change that anytime soon.
  23. Hard time reading most your posts but think you nailed this one. He seems to be unable to let go of past traumatic experiences and will probably always be a little angry at women. At least he is extremely witty and brutally honest.
  24. There are those rare exceptions that non-newbies might miss. Happened twice to me but l'm into athletic women which puts me at slight disadvantage.
  25. I'm 15 minute away. What did you like about Pakse? i find it a boring dirty place. Paksong - just 50k away from Pakse is incredibly beautiful.
