In simple terms it is what caused the dems to lose the election. It usually pertains to a tiny segment of the democrats that were insane mean spirited zealots that bullied everybody that didn't agree with them. How the majority of dems let this happen is beyond me. Until I'm confident the majority of dems have eliminated the woke culture, I won't be voting for their party members.

What is different between Drug Dealers and Farmer's burning their crops?
atpeace replied to Gobbler's topic in General Topics
Thais in general are ready for the burning to stop. Not the politicians that are just talking but the majority of Thai citizens would support extreme penalties but death is too extreme. -
Minimum required to live comfortably at a young retirement age
atpeace replied to PomPolo's topic in General Topics
My wife has her own funds so that helps but something always comes up. I live in an inexpensive part of Thailand, simple paid for home, cars are paid for and I don't insure them. Have no electricity bill (solar) nor water(well) and internet is around 600 baht but on average spend 60k. I don't party and live a frugal life by my estimation. Unexpected expenditures pop up on a regular basis. Might go 3 months and only spend 30k a month but my budget every year still averages out to around 60k. Always think at some point I will be completely setup where the unexpected expenditures will be close to zero but I realize the odds are tiny of this happening. -
Anutin Orders Stricter Measures to Curb Burning and Reduce PM 2.5
atpeace replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The village head about 30 minutes ago had another public meeting and it was crazy tense. I guess a villager last night decided to make charcoal on the edges of the village. Villagers were knocking on the head man's door last night and he went off this morning at a public meeting. The offender shows up screaming and revving his motorbike. Almost went to blows and I wouldn't mess with our village head. He is definitely capable of extreme violence and have strong feeling it isn't going to end well for the charcoal dude. At this point he is too high on on charcoal fumes and ganja to realize but bad things are coming his way. -
Anutin Orders Stricter Measures to Curb Burning and Reduce PM 2.5
atpeace replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Agreed! I get that a good amount of the pollution isn't local. Sure some blows over on occasion from other countries or other provinces but most of the severe pollution in my area is because of night time burning of trash and dry vegetation at homes. Sun goes down with 45 PM 2.5 and wakeup with 180 PM 2.5. One or two homes that are burning at night can cause the village to be blanketed in terrible air through early afternoon the next day. Get the police out at night and start fining the home owners. The village head gave a loud speech telling people to stop the burning yesterday and today was a little better. It won't last 😞 -
He is a harmless know it all fool. He and his crowd stomped on all viewpoints that didn't meet the herds standards the last 4 years here on AN. A nasty group of fools and now he is understandably upset with the new direction society seems to be heading.

Whatever.... you are hopeless at this stage. How this only liberals are right world treating you of late? Must suck to be you 🙂

Making a billion isn't easy. The age of empowered foolish virtue signaling fools is over I hope. The Las Angeles mayor is what you get in your weird world.

Good luck but I think Sheryl is correct in regards the required doctor visit. I did not meet with a doctor and got the results but I have a feeling this was only because the staff was scared of the hansum farang 🙂 and didn't follow the usual process.

Yes but I have also met with doctors. Where I live now the hospital is tiny and rarely visited by westerners. Never seen a westerner at this hospital. Meeting with a doctor wouldn't be to problematic but a waste of time IMO. I would just show up and stumble through the process and in the end I bet it only takes 15 minutes if you don't have to see a doctor and an hour if is required. Hmm, now that I'm giving it some thought - I think the doctor I met with might have been upset he didn't order the tests. He kept asking why I was getting certain tests and seemed perturbed. Makes sense because that would be the standard process here and in the west. Meet with a doctor and tell him the tests you want done would be my recommendation 🙂

Buying a new car.........you'd think it was easy
atpeace replied to Rampant Rabbit's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
OK 🙂 -
Yep and depending on where you're living it will be almost free. I did a complete blood count, cholesterol, testosterone, blood sugar, liver, kidney tests and the bill was around 600 baht. I brought in a list of what i need in English and also in Thai. They may have to send off the blood to Bangkok or where ever but that usually only takes a few days. The hospital doctor was worthless but all I was interested was the raw data. Next time I'm going to see if they will email the results so I don't have to meet with the doctor.

No they don't. -
How many days before you return to your normal exercise routine? Not what the doctor told you but what you intend to do. I'm thinking about 2 teeth but keep putting it off because I don't want to stop running for weeks after the surgery.

Do you open the packages and inspect? Seems like an inefficient process. Wouldn't be surprised if it doubled the delivery cost. Watch my wife do it and think it is an incredible waste of time. Hmmm, maybe something more sinister going on with theses delivery chaps.

It's fun witnessing the left and right come together 🙂 Brings tears to my eyes. I'm starting to believe in this mysterious group of elite that ultimately control us minnows. I wonder if my minnow of a life would be better as a big fish. Doubt it but it would be but interesting to be part of the big fish group for a little while.

OK - up to you. I think it entertaining and easy to get over for me. Not overly concerned about your mental health but you need to take a break from AN if you want to make it to the next election in 4 years. Your hatred is disgusting if taken seriously which sane people do not. Hope you stick around to remind us all how crazy the last 4 years were with "FAR" left zealots seemingly controlling the democratic party and losing support of people like me.

Expats How Do You Deal With The Toxic Air Pollution in Thailand?
atpeace replied to Mitkof Island's topic in General Topics
55 just now 🙂 It's coming but not here yet and I hope it is only a month of over 100. Location matters! Only 200 meters from Laos and much of the pollution will be coming from there. Fires here can be put out quickly because it is rocky and not as much to burn. They actually put many of the fire out if it is spotted in time and they can get water to the location. -
Expats How Do You Deal With The Toxic Air Pollution in Thailand?

Really? Air purifiers I use help substantially even with a windows open a crack. Not ideal but still make a huge difference. Any Thai built house even with bad insulation would benefit IMO. Probably be blowing through filters but the aren't too expensive.
