  1. Transformers look visually a lot more robust than others I have seen. Probably all good. ???? All you want to do is get the new waterfall lights working, so I'll but out and let the exAperts comment. When you finish the installation can you share how the waterfall looks with the lights on? I've got a waterfall but no lights. ????
  2. We got that last night. Lots of rice still not gathered. Bit sad but we snuck in.
  3. The reason I asked for a picture was for all to see if you should worry about the way the lights are fed from the power. Now you mention a Pool company wired the lights and you are using a transformer. The transformers I've seen that pool companies in Thailand use are just a bare, cheap and nasty transformer, not an expensive fused and double insulated type. Maybe all is fine. ????
  4. Did you hear that they're not going to make 12 inch rulers any longer.
  5. Do you have a pictute of your previous lighting setup? The position of the light and the power feed to the light.
  6. Thanks for the chart. I thought that was how they were sized as I've ordered Uniseals before, but these aren't actual Uniseals but a Thai seller equivalent. Much cheaper and seem OK. I bought a sample complete Dutch Bucket but now sourcing all the bits to make 8 more. The sample seller won't tell me where he sourced the Uniseal types from. ????
  7. So I ordered 8 inserts. A bag of inserts was delivered but they were the wrong size. I followed Lazada procedure and got a refund. I think the shop sent 16mm and not 20mm that I ordered. I have used Chat in Thai to the supplier and sent them a pic of what I want but they read the Chat but don't respond to any messages. I wanted to use the supplier to buy the correct inserts. What I need is the name of a good supplier who responds to Chat messages as I want to be sure we agree on where the 20mm is measured. Anyone have a supplier name who answers their Chat messages?
  8. I'm not sure what you mean, the pool has been built for over 5 years. Just getting round to fix all those jobs that never got done. ????
  9. Thanks very much for the great responses. ???? Weekly I don't clean the pool, but a farmer guy we use a lot, who helped me build the pool does it, so I don't know how the wheels are going. So going with the recommendations, I'll order the brush type.
  10. My vaccum cleaner head has signs of rust, so I had a look today and there are these large lumps of metal inside the head. All really rusty. Could I fix this problem by cleaning the metal blocks, paint them and wrap in plastic cling wrap? Any suggestions? If I buy a new head it will probably have the same metal weights in it. Seems strange a vaccum head for swimming pools would have large lumps of anything that can go rusty.
  11. There's another problem with not staying at your reported address. If you have a vehicle registered at that address and you get photoed for speeding etc, the fine is sent to that address. If it's like M Flow, the fine is 10x the origional if you don't pay by a certain time. So B30 becomes B300 etc. Could mount up. More cameras coming.
  12. No, I'd say nearly every house in our village has one of these 'home made' guns. Go for an early morning or late evening walk in the national park hills and you see many people after game. All got these type of weapons.
  13. I think if you go in many or most (not dealer controlled) workshops you will find the same workplace where engines, gearboxes etc are assembled and disassembled on the floor or ground. No work benches. It's a bit off-putting at first, but you get used to it. Biggest mistake I made years ago when I had a warped head redone was to ask them why they weren't using a torque wrench....then they stripped the threads. ????
  14. Loose Lips Sink Ships - sorry, that's a sheety thing to say. ????
  15. 'The Qatari male headdress is called a "ghutra", it is a little-sheet.' Took me l o n g e r. ????
  16. I remember driving round Bangkok with a mate looking for a replacement gearbox for his old Beemer. There are these huge secondhand engine, diff., gearbox yards. All close together, but I can't remember in which outer suburb they are in. I'm fairly sure they would know where someone is located.
  17. Talking about 'Testicle'. While commissioning a new installation had large PA system and a rather young naive switchboard operator. Every now and then one of the guys would ring up and page someone. Over the PA system you would hear: "Tess Ticle telephone please." Or 'Ivan Acher telephone please. Can't remember the rest. We thought it funny at the time.
  18. If you have a TV cable TV aerial connector, on the back of the TV, then select the TV input and you should see Snow and hear noise if the main parts of your TV is working. (Doesn't test the circuit board where the HDMI part comes in, but tests the rest).
  19. There seems to be a new law (not too sure how new), but Landlord can only charge a 1 month deposit.
  20. Maybe the Franklin controller doesn't have a 'run dry' facility. You can buy these controllers in Thailand and from China. I suppose it can also depend on what aquifer you are on and how deep is your pump in the well and diameter of the well. The way everyone is putting down solar powered bores everywhere and leaving them on 24/7 probably, you'de have to be careful running the pump continuously incase there is not enough water to keep recharging the well.
  21. I'd say no licence, no insurance. Would be a brave insurance company to start a HiSo precedent. I remember when you could get an International Driving Permit in Thailand that wasn't real, but the Police let it go. Trouble was (so my insurance guy said) if you have a accident then you're not licenced and therefore no insurance. Same as learning-to-drive. My wife started at a driving school. Then I switched her to our car as that was the one she'd be driving. My insurance guy said your wife and car not covered as she has no licence, better get a licence first then learn to drive. So she got her licence, then learnt to drive. Love Thailand ????
