Something Thais use daily closes.
since they use it everyday, when they find it close they go to closest possible place to get it.
pits usually food they want, so closest spot is usually a street stall or food business close by.
all the Thais pile into this one little spot.
I can’t be the only one that sees this happening everywhere, when they take these “measures”.
CP All’s 7-11’s do very well during the closures. CP also owns 15% of Sinovac. CP has a finger in every pot (and pocket)

By abolishing the Constitution, dissolving the Parliament, and creating new rules allowing the coup leaders to appoint 50% of the Senate.
I understand the mechanism of holding on to power, it is understanding the continuing support of so many Thais that eludes me.

When I moved here in 2013, there was much chaos and turmoil about the previous Prime minister and some scandals involving rice. It was such a national disgrace that a military coup was the “only option”.
We are still under the same leadership of the military coup leaders who swore to resolve the shortcomings of government and “bring happiness to the people” and yet thousands are dead, and we are approaching 10,000 (reported) infections a day, there are few vaccines (and fewer still effective vaccines) available, effective vaccines are delayed and discouraged by bureaucratic red tape, hospitals are full and patients dying at home while waiting for care, tens of thousands of businesses have failed, the economy is in ruins (except for the top 1%), those who protest are charged with draconian laws and jailed.Where is the outrage? Where are those people who where protesting in the streets, with their plastic clapping hands? Where are those who were demanding a coup to stop the horrible rice programs of the previous prime minister (who has since been mostly cleared of any wrong doing).
I don’t understand Thai politics, I am the first to admit this, but it seems to me that those who were clamoring for a military takeover have put us all in a terrible predicament and are now sitting on their hands and staying mute while the kingdom spirals down into chaos and dysfunction.
Is this the Thailand they envisioned? Is the current situation less dire than a supposed rice scandal? Is the current regime acceptable to them?
I have lived here for 7years now and I sincerely cannot understand how the current leadership maintains the support of the people. It is not my intention to offend or insult, but I need to understand how can this be?

Where's the vax? That's what we really need. About 45% of the US is now vaccinated, and so everywhere's reopening. Amazing considering how at one time we had the highest rate of infections.
These small, occasional shipments from China are ridiculous. Why can't larger supplies be secured, from other sources? Why can't the manufacturing be done here?
Don’t ask. The answers are all incredulous

they shouldnt do it because its not their business
individuals outside their country must surely organize their own healthcare... or return home
France are the only nation doing this ......at home -based French taxpayer expense no doubt.......
perhaps they are offloading those millions of perfectly good unused AZ vaccines , before expiration, a stockpile that Macron created, stupidly & jealously saying AZ was no good........
They received Johnson & Johnson. Guess the nickname "White Buffalo" comes from you just spewing out whatever you think without any consideration or knowledge, huh ?

I don't know why people are moaning that the provinces are getting nothing. This isn't any different than anything else. The provinces always get nothing except for meth and lao Khao. This is standard model for the world over and is simply far more acute in Thailand.
No population, power, income wealth, education, importance.
I'm struggling to even see the relevance of Pattaya and all the other tourist spots.
All roads lead to Rome

It seems reasonable to assume that my appointment at Hua Hin Hospital for July 7 will be bumped back if they are telling those with June Appointments to come back next month.
The government is sadly, bungling this whole process to the worst possible degree.
How can they expect the people to have confidence in their vaccines, if they can’t have any confidence in their promises? The flip flops and retractions are epic.

Why does everything official in COVID Thailand include huge numbers of people sitting together for hours in a room? Do the Thai authorities not understand contagion?

Why would you assume all expats need a Tax ID number?
As a retired expat, Why would I be given a tax ID number?
I contribute an enormous amount of VAT to the Thai government (far far more than the average Thai), and other associated government fees (visa, vehicle registrations, etc) additionally I pay rent and salary to several domestic employees. I pay taxes on my money before it comes into Thailand (in the country in which it is earned) and do not have taxable income here.
it isn’t so much as me me being “bothered” to get a Tax ID Number, so much as it is you being “bothered” to get informed before you spout off bigoted nonsense.-

Geez I sure do wish he would ask President Biden for some preferred vaccines
-
My interpretation of article about the order is that not submitting your risk assessment and applying for the vaccine is punishable, but the article does not mention that after applying, whether you must receive the vaccine to avoid punishment.
... so it doesn’t really involve the number of vaccines currently available in Burriram, just the requirement of submitting assessment risk and application.
It seems hard handed either way, but to those criticizing the Governor for not having enough vaccines currently seems a bit off base. -

It is widely available for free for everyone (except perhaps young children as there haven’t been completed studies) .
I have a Thai friend (26 years old) who travels between bkk and San Francisco/Chicago as a courier and he recently walked into a CVS drug store in San Francisco and received the vaccine of his choice without reservation or cost.
available to anyone upon request for free.-

Which states? The federal policy is to try to vaccinate everyone. Failure to do so will prevent achieving herd immunity. It is in every state's and every person's s best interest to vaccinate as many as possible.

My qeustion is , what does this have to do with Americans that live abroad paying taxes or voting . You mean if they don't pay tax or vote in your mind they cannot get vaccinated by their own country if there was a chance to do so if vaccines get shipped here ? They hold an American passport don't they( paying taxes or voting or not)? So if America can send vaccines to India(or wherever) to help them out , they cannot send them to American passport holders living abroad that don't vote or pay tax ? I find that a bit strange.
Vaccines could be provided to U.S. citizens through U.S. embassies and consulates, in particular as many are now re-opening for U.S. citizen services," said Marylouise Serrato, executive director of the advocacy group American Citizens Abroad.
The group last month wrote to the U.S. Congress and the State Department saying overseas Americans who file taxes and vote should have the same access to vaccines as U.S. residents.
Same her the executive director finds it so important to say , Americans who file taxes and vote!!
You'r an american when you hold an American passport and has nothing to do with voting or paying taxes . They should help all their citizens .
America land of the free , but if you don't pay taxes or vote you are not alligable to get vaccinated .
Voting does not seem relevant, except as a reminder that expats do play a role in seating those elected officials who received the letter. Taxes, however are what have paid for both the development and distribution of the vaccines stateside and pointing out that expats have contributed to that expense every bit as much as those stateside and their contribution should be worthy of receiving the same lifesaving dividend.. I don't think anyone is suggesting that those with no tax liability or dependants or non voters should be passed over for vaccines.

After the release of the leaked AZ memo yesterday, it would appear the Minister is in search of some spin press without actually committing to anything.
