here is a possible scenario
1. avoid approving or buying any imported vaccines for as long as possible2delay any vaccines that are not Sinovac or AZ
3 experience mass infections, death and economic ruin
4 wait for the free vaccines to start flowing in from generous countries who pity the citizens of Thailand
5 use the money saved from vaccines to buy a fleet of submarines and space rockets

Giving your child money (if they did that, you think he hasn't got his own money?), is not "assisting him so that he may not be arrested". I can "reason" [sic] that because that's not what it is in that context. If he was working for a company that was paying him a salary while he was "away" do you really think that the company could be charged with aiding and abetting? It'd be exactly the same thing.
If the company is aware that they are employing a fugitive, absolutely they are aiding and abetting a fugitive.not only by paying them, but by not disclosing the fugitive’s whereabouts.
what part of “by any means” is ambiguous to you?
by any means has no footnotes saying except allowance by mom and dad or except funds paid by a company to their fugitive employee.
knowing the location of a fugitive and not disclosing that information to authorities is aiding and abetting.
withholding information from authorities is aiding and abetting
Providing lodging or money or assistance of any kind to a person who is known to be a fugitive is aiding and abetting.“by any means” is unambiguous and clear.

That's just your opinion. What I posted wasn't my opinion, it is fact, morals do not come into it although reasoning does, hence my reasoned reply. Giving a child money is not "assisting him so that he may not be arrested" in the context that your translated Thai law section obviously means.
The law reads “or by assisting him by any means so that he may not be arrested”.
how you can reason that sending money to your fugitive child so they may continue to remain a fugitive is anything other than assisting “BY ANY MEANS” is far from any interpretation of that statement.
“oh I didn’t offer any assistance, except paying for their expenses”, does not hold up to any reasonable persons understanding of “by any means”.
To clarifythe definition of “By any Means” is literally; in any way
any way at all.
there is no ambiguity in either the law or the definition.-

It helps if you actually read your own links!
"Section 189. Aiding and Abetting
Whoever assists another person who commits or is alleged of having committed an offence which is not a petty offence so that such person may not be punished by giving him lodging, by hiding, or by assisting him by any means so that he may not be arrested, shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding two years or fined not exceeding four thousand Baht, or both".
Providing their son with money (if they are doing that) is not "giving him lodging, hiding him, or assisting him so that he may not be arrested".Move along, indeed. If you believe providing your fugitive adult child money is not providing aid in avoiding their apprehension, then you lack reasoning or morals or both.move along take your children with you

How would anyone know that and what makes you think that there is an offence under Thai law of "aiding and abetting a fugitive" that his family could be charged with? Providing their son with money sure isn't an offence even if they are doing that.
It is a criminal offence in Thailand. Move along

If his family is supporting his being a fugitive, then arrest his parents for aiding and abetting a fugitive and see how fast he returns to Thailand.
If his flight from justice was not being underwritten by his family he would be far more likely to be captured and stand trial.-

Having a press release every time Moderna is mentioned in a meeting is like having 30 bridal showers before the wedding. You seek praise, adulation and attention, but you haven’t done anything yet

“are LIKELY to be purchased”
perhaps, maybe, imaginable, anticipated, plausible, possibly, could…
After the release of the leaked AZ memo yesterday, it would appear the Minister is in search of some spin press without actually committing to anything.
His actions are literally the inverse of the “Midas touch”-

Something Thais use daily closes.
since they use it everyday, when they find it close they go to closest possible place to get it.
pits usually food they want, so closest spot is usually a street stall or food business close by.
all the Thais pile into this one little spot.
I can’t be the only one that sees this happening everywhere, when they take these “measures”.
CP All’s 7-11’s do very well during the closures. CP also owns 15% of Sinovac. CP has a finger in every pot (and pocket)

When I moved here in 2013, there was much chaos and turmoil about the previous Prime minister and some scandals involving rice. It was such a national disgrace that a military coup was the “only option”.
We are still under the same leadership of the military coup leaders who swore to resolve the shortcomings of government and “bring happiness to the people” and yet thousands are dead, and we are approaching 10,000 (reported) infections a day, there are few vaccines (and fewer still effective vaccines) available, effective vaccines are delayed and discouraged by bureaucratic red tape, hospitals are full and patients dying at home while waiting for care, tens of thousands of businesses have failed, the economy is in ruins (except for the top 1%), those who protest are charged with draconian laws and jailed.Where is the outrage? Where are those people who where protesting in the streets, with their plastic clapping hands? Where are those who were demanding a coup to stop the horrible rice programs of the previous prime minister (who has since been mostly cleared of any wrong doing).
I don’t understand Thai politics, I am the first to admit this, but it seems to me that those who were clamoring for a military takeover have put us all in a terrible predicament and are now sitting on their hands and staying mute while the kingdom spirals down into chaos and dysfunction.
Is this the Thailand they envisioned? Is the current situation less dire than a supposed rice scandal? Is the current regime acceptable to them?
I have lived here for 7years now and I sincerely cannot understand how the current leadership maintains the support of the people. It is not my intention to offend or insult, but I need to understand how can this be?

Where's the vax? That's what we really need. About 45% of the US is now vaccinated, and so everywhere's reopening. Amazing considering how at one time we had the highest rate of infections.
These small, occasional shipments from China are ridiculous. Why can't larger supplies be secured, from other sources? Why can't the manufacturing be done here?
Don’t ask. The answers are all incredulous

they shouldnt do it because its not their business
individuals outside their country must surely organize their own healthcare... or return home
France are the only nation doing this ......at home -based French taxpayer expense no doubt.......
perhaps they are offloading those millions of perfectly good unused AZ vaccines , before expiration, a stockpile that Macron created, stupidly & jealously saying AZ was no good........
They received Johnson & Johnson. Guess the nickname "White Buffalo" comes from you just spewing out whatever you think without any consideration or knowledge, huh ?

I don't know why people are moaning that the provinces are getting nothing. This isn't any different than anything else. The provinces always get nothing except for meth and lao Khao. This is standard model for the world over and is simply far more acute in Thailand.
No population, power, income wealth, education, importance.
I'm struggling to even see the relevance of Pattaya and all the other tourist spots.

It seems reasonable to assume that my appointment at Hua Hin Hospital for July 7 will be bumped back if they are telling those with June Appointments to come back next month.
The government is sadly, bungling this whole process to the worst possible degree.
How can they expect the people to have confidence in their vaccines, if they can’t have any confidence in their promises? The flip flops and retractions are epic.

Thai PM turns to Sputnik V jabs

His declarations have become muted to me. The administration keeps saying they are ordering imported vaccines, but the only mRNA vaccines coming into the Kingdom seem to be donated. The orders never seem to be completed. The purchases are announced (over and over and over again) but the ink never seems to make it to paper and the funds never seem to leave the bank.
It was many many months before the Moderna contract for private hospitals was completed (if it actually has been) adding months of long, unnecessary and dangerously risky delays. the private hospitals were begging for the imported vaccines since November 2020.
It is like an old auntie who keeps putting items in her online shopping cart, but never completes the transaction and waits endlessly at the front gate for her packages that aren’t arriving.
A more effective and reliable path may be to route the purchases through the same channels that completed the submarine contracts.
