Then go back to the village and relax on a recliner reading a book whilst she does the family thing and we are ready to go back to civilsation. Yes I retired at 56 in 2013. I bought a house just outside Pattaya with my Thai wife and we spend 7 months a year here. We both return to the UK every May for 4 to 5 months to see my lads and grandchildren. I did not sell my house in the UK like so many do. I am confident I made the right decision as I am with the relationship with my wife who I have been with since 2011 and married since 2014. At 30 years old she is young enough to keep me young and we do many activities that I detailed in my original post together. Best decision I ever made. Dont whatever you do be persuaded to go and live in a Thai village.

Well for a start dont live in the middle of nowhere, where your wife dictates your life for you. Live in or near Pattaya. You then have the choice of the beach at Jomtien, nightlife whenever you want it, cinema, eating out, going to the gym, playing golf etc. If you have the funds and are reasonably fit, retirement should be a fun time. If you think you are already on the way out, doing nothing will quickly accelerate that.

I visited The Queen Siriket Navy Hospital 2 weeks go. Every single person and there were hundreds were wearing a mask. Although I dont like wearing a mask, out of respect I did so. If requested to wear a mask in a given situation I would look at the circumstances and if its a reasonable request I will do so.

Never had a visit and dont expect to get one. Why do they assume people on an extension be it Retirement or marriage are in the country at all times. Personally I am here on Retirememt and between May and Oct I am in the UK, so they will be out of luck trying to visit me.

Apparently the kids are Cambodian kids with no parents who ran away from the home. They are a lost cause already, bad parents who dont care and Thai authorities, legalising cannabis without any due care as to what the effect of this decision would have in the real world. People should stop getting their knickers in a twist. These venues are not the traditional tourist venues on Walking St and LK Metro, but Thai venues on 3rd road etc where very few foreign tourists go. Now if Republic, Insomnia, Bliss or Escape were raided then it would be a concern.

Really bad planning here. The expiry date of your passport did not suddenly happen, you must have known it was expiring and that you would have this issue. You should have got a new passport 6 months ago, issue sorted.

Its the same time every year it never changes. The last day is always 19th and starts as early as the 10th on some soi's. If you have never experienced it then fine. However most of us hate it and either go somewhere for 10 days or stay home.
