No its not. Walk into the agent in Pattaya with your Bangkok Bank book, 2 photos and 12,500 baht. Visit the assigned bank with the agent. Visit immigration outside to have photo taken. 2 days later you have a totally legal 1 year extension of stay. Easy.

Pin Up, XS and Palace are on Walking St. They contain many small girls. They are good to look at but their sole objective is to get as many lady drinks as they can. No good for a cheap night out. Very expensive. Kink is on LK Metro about 2k away. Good show when the upstairs stage is lowered. Expensive as are lady drinks. You need to decide where you are going. Suggest WS one night and LK Metro another. It all depends on your requirements. Half the fun is walking around trying different places.
