  2. Never believe the front desk at Jomtien. If he came in on a 30 visa exempt entry he automaticaly qualifies for a 30 day extension on this entry and not 7 days to leave the country. Some inaccuracies here on the story you were told.
  3. Looks like the same lady immigration officer in the fast track lane as in this recent topic
  4. Just buy a cheap local sim card at your destination. You can access your Thai banking apps from any wifi and any local data package you may buy. No need to buy any DTAC roaming packages or activate roaming, its as simple as that, ignore advice advising you otherwise, I do this all the time
  5. If I was you I would contact HRMC by either phone or online ASAP. If you delay all thats happening is that you are building up a large sum to be paid in bulk when they get round to sorting it. When I got my State Pension also in April I had to pay £150 a month extra tax. I already delayed like you and when I contacted them 4 months later my pension was reduced by £600 for the next month to pay the back tax. The longer you delay the bigger the bill, do it now and dont wait until they get around to it.
  6. In your situation I would use an agent, only 13k in Pattaya.
  7. 2 reasons. First when it rains the water from outside Patraya should flow harmlessly into the drains and the areas designated to drain the water. Many flood overflow land has been illegally built on and hense there is nowhere for the water to go. Second. With all the street food traders pouring all their oil and fat down the the nearest drain at the end of the night creates massive fat balls in the drains and blocks them.
  8. Such a costly silly temper tantrum. Chances are that she didnt buy outright and is paying monthly, so technically the car is not hers. If this is the case its criminal damage. In addition the insurance will not pay out as its self inflicted.
  9. I agree with the answers about a Thai citizen being allowed to enter Thailand. However some airports and airlines have uninformed check in agents who are real job worths. Be prepared for an arguement just in case and try and get some printed proof to take with you.
  10. Your friend from America does not qualify for a Visa on Arrival (VOA). If you ask the right question you will get the right answer.
  11. I have a big one too. Thats quite funny. No I am in the UK now cant you read? I will continue and my successful path thank you and stay for 8 months in Thailand every year. Plus scchhh I have a secret, I get my State Pension Index Linked as well.
  12. I am totally confused about your post and the mention of the police station. Once you have an extension of stay based on Retirement, you report every 90 days by onr of the methods mentioned no police station. Also it makes no difference how you obtain the extension. I pay 13k baht and do a 90 day report thats it. No I do not have 800k in a Thai bank or transfer 65k a month into Thailand. I prefer to keep my mo ey and my income in the UK.
  13. I find it strange that you found reason to mention Indian tourists at all. Other than them having different culture and taste to what they consider a good night out, they are normal people and not aliens from another planet. A very racist comment I must say.
  14. I have been back in the UK since May and have not once worn a mask. In fact its only a rare occurance that you see anyone wearing one. UK infection rates are falling and have been for the last month. In fact I cant remember the last time I heard anyone in the UK speak of Covid. My Thai wife is here with me and also does not wear a mask. When we return to Thailand in October if it is compulsory of course I will wear one, if not I have no intention of doing so even if everyone else is wearing one.
  15. What a pathetic comment. Its what Thailand and the p4p scene is all about, good luck to them I say. I suppose you are a handsome stud (not) who dosnt pay. Stick to Patpong, no one has been going there for years.
  16. No I think he is referring to being locked down and prevented from leaving the UK, which was totally untrue.
  17. Unfortunately you are one of the people who believed the lockdown and no travel nonsense. At no time was I stopped coming to Thailand. I came here for 7 months in Oct 19, Oct 20 and Nov 21. Granted I had to do quarantine on arrival, but I wasnt stopped from leaving the UK.
  18. Sorry I dont see your point. You can enter Thailand visa exempt 30 days and then extend for 30 days. You can then choose to obtain a Non O based on Retirement and get your extension of stay again as long as you meet the 800k requirements. Its not hard to get a visa to come to Thailand the e system although not straight forward is easy once you understand it. Most of the things they ask you to provide are not actually required as its a generic application. Most people dont have issues. Unfortunately you are hankering over how things were a long time ago, things change and move on so should you. Being older is no excuse.
  19. As you said its taking longer and longer. They are quoting over 9 weeks now but many applications are taking longer. We were lucky my wifes 10 year visa was back in her hands in under 3 weeks in April. Just a small correction to your post. There is no such thing as an interview when your wife visited VFS to submit the application. VFS are simply a post box to submit the application, they do not do interviews, they just forward the documents to VKV1 and report back on the decision.
  20. You are joking arnt you? 55 baht in anywhere outside of a 7/11 etc with service is cheap.
  21. Dont stress just upload a copy of your passport ID page. This also applies to some other sections in the online application
  22. We call in Rounders in the UK and its only played by girls. Proves how good that sport is.
  23. Thats so funny. What do you mean its back in Pattaya? Its been here for a while and never gone away.
