Actually, UberX is often cheaper than a normal taxi would be. 

As has been mentioned, they're a little pricey for the airport, albeit less so now the flat rate for BKK is only 300B - but for other trips around town they're awesome. I use them all the time.

Ironic that you'd quote a statistic like that when one of the degrees you chose as an example of 'Mickey mouse-ness' is actually a vocational degree. 

It's pretty clear you made a knee-jerk statement based on some kind of prejudice against education, which you're now struggling to justify. I'd stop digging if I were you.

I think you have misunderstood the term Mickey Mouse. Its a fairly new term in relation to the growing number of degrees that have been created where it has been shown that many of the degrees attained were not used for their relevant field. So if you read my post more carefully you may have noted I used Media production and english lit as two examples. If you had said you said your degree was in engineering and you were a consultant in engineering well that would not be what is regarded as a mickey mouse course. Hope that is a bit more clearer for you but if not google the term Mickey Mouse Degree and educate yourself a bit more.

Nothing you've posted shows that they POPULARISED it (even putting it in CAPITALS doesn't make it true) - just that they emailed it to some people. It's apparent to anyone who hasn't drunk the orange Kool aid that it was Trump's endless talking about it that POPULARISED the issue. 

A large chunk of the American population appears to be experiencing some kind of psychotic break from reality. As an outsider it's fascinating to watch, but for those who live there it much be quite alarming.
