Not attitude adjustment!!! Bring out the comfy chair.

"Fisheries monitoring, controls and punishments were inadequate and had to be brought up to international standards."
Farang do not understand Thainess. Thailand does not need to meet international standards, because Thai standards are more strict and arise out of traditional fishing practices which are centuries old.
I don't know one industry in Thailand that is operated within international standards.

I assume the guy in green is the complainant. Probably works in hotel security for one of the nearby luxury resorts. He could use a few months away from the buffet line.

Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, yesterday called the kind of government that would eventually be formed from the new draft constitution "imbalanced", "weak", "unstable" and "disconnected from the people"
Now how is that any different from the governments Thailand has had for the last 25 years.

How could there not be careless service when a girl was left in a locked bathroom to die? Disgraceful!

The FBI has no business commenting on international affairs. That's not their area of responsibility. Comey needs to be reprimanded.

AIT is a good university. It is really the only international university in Thailand. Over 70% of its students are foreign-born. It's nowhere near a top-ranked university globally, but I am more willing to hire a graduate from AIT than from Chula, Mahidol, or Thammasat.

"Should further investigations confirm their wrongdoing" I thought they were wrongdoers already! Why is the government tap dancing on the issue?
It's called due process of law. I know you want to think that Prayuth can just sentence them to a prison term.
Thrse civil servants have had reports of corruption made against them. The next step is to investigate in order to determine if a prosecution should take place. If you think that is a "tap dance" maybe you prefer to live in a country where there is no rule of law.

Are you saying that investigating and prosecuting government officials who illegally extorted money from parents and who took that money and money intended to be used for the betterment of student education for their personal benefit is a waste of energy? In a land where sanuk, being lazy is more important than working hard. In a country where corruption is an art form and in a country where face value is more important than the truth, grades and student progress are a not real, cleaning the house is a waste of energy.
Face the truth and rebuild your house. From scratch and with the help of foreign experts from Japan, Korea and Singapore.
I agree that an overhaul of the education system is needed. However, it starts with better pay and training of teachers. It seems some of the reforms mentioned may be a start in that direction.

This article is completely cleansed of the fact that the teens are probably Muslim. Australia has a serious problem with radicalized Muslim youth, a direct consequence of its lax immigration policy.

I attended a law school that posted everyone's grades. I had no problem with that. The Thai school GPA's are meaningless, because they only reflect the ability to memorize (rote-learning) or the ability to cheat on multiple choice exams. It does not get any better on the university level in Thailand.

I would have rather seen the entire Ministry and all administrators investigated and prosecuted for corruption. The remaining "educators" should be evaluated for competence, and mostly terminated, not transferred.

The PM will learn one day that the pen is mightier than the sword.
I'm sure you can't be referring to Thai journalists and media, but perhaps social media.

Let's face facts good general. About 80% of tourism is generated by the country's sex industry. So, are you saying those workers shouldn't be so lazy and put on better performances to please the tourists?PM urges all Thais to make Thailand worth visiting
Gen. Prayut stressed that it was important that all citizens were aware of their role and mobilized their efforts to do their duty to the best of their ability.
I wholeheartedly agree with you on that point.

If you have established PC, get a warrant and arrest them. If you don't have sufficient evidence, <deleted> and get back to work.

It would be difficult for anyone to be immediately charged in this case, although it doesn't look good for Prawee and his boys. Chang is claiming Prawee and his partners are extorting him for money. Prawee claims Chang took money from him and he is just trying to recover it. I doubt the Pattaya police are willing to invest the time to properly investigate this matter.

How about they turn their eyes on the education system itself. These graduates who can not get a job and can not pay their loans is because EVERYONE graduates. With their NO fail system even some idiot who did not learn anything will get a degree. The companies who hire people know this and look to their class positioning at graduation to know if they really understood and learned. So the rest who just skated and copied their way through school can get hired.
If they got these lazy students out of the school system instead of passing them through and paying even more, they could save billions of baht for a student who tries and studies and learns.
Until the universities develop curriculum and hire lecturers which are designed to cultivate original and critical thinking skills, eliminating flotsam and jetsam is pointless. You just have fewer students memorizing the same worthless information, and not learning how to think for themselves.

What most Thais want is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is what the General and the elite want.
Actually, the NRC proposed direct election back in December, but it was rejected by the CDC. Both PAD and PTP opposed direct election.

Crazy Brit. You don't visit a foreign country, rent a car, and drive with reckless abandon. You don't know the roads and you are a guest.
I hope they lock up Mr. Benjamin in a Thai prison cell for a few years and not just let him go back to the island after paying off the officer's family.
My condolences to Police Lance Corporal Wiroon's family and friends. Terrible that this happens at the end of the Songkran holiday.

The only thing MICT knows about social media is either dissemination of propaganda or censorship. As far as I can tell, the ministry has no other purpose.

Reading the comments, the complaint of the Thai social media users is that the NCPO issued an order that indecent Songkran activity was illegal, so why weren't these farang arrested.
I've noticed this attitude previously and attribute the misunderstanding to a lack of education and experience. Law enforcement involves proper use of discretion. Just because conduct is illegal, if it is not seriously harming or causing a disturbance, it's not necessary to prosecute every infraction. Thais don't get this at all.
In the case of Buriram, although I thought no arrest was necessary, there were girls dancing near the Rama I statue. They were warned, but then returned to do it again.
In Chiang Mai, the police supe said there were infractions, but decided to use police resources to stop and check for drunk drivers. That's proper use of police discretion.
These drunk farang were on KSR and Pattaya Soi 6. These are tourist zones where police need to be vigilant for safety and security. Diversion of police resources to enforce public nudity laws properly takes a back seat.

Tokyo Disneyland shows interest in made-in-Thailand products

I'm not sure why this is news. Disneyland sends its sourcing agents to almost every nation. When there's an actual valid purchase order from Disneyland, then maybe it is worth reporting.
