  1. don't know what your local antenna market provides - but if possible, try to obtain the following design,

I have looked in many shops for antennas in Pattaya area but never seen the UHF Phased Array as tifino posted above

most places have pathetic active indoor antenna some at silly prices..the best selection I found so far was at Amorn in the basement of Tukcom

this is the "biggest" they had.

Smart Engineering D15E outdoor digital antenna 550 baht it works quite well but I think I'm getting interference from somewhere.

sophon are now all digital if you have a digital tuner - external box or internal in TV either will do, connect to the sophon cable feed and scan/tune for the 90 odd channels

Banglamung cable are also sending what I suppose is DVB-C2 but normal DVBT-2 tuners can receive it they are also still sending the analogue

signal down the same cable !

in a couple of cases this caused much confusion why the new fangled digital TV had such a crappy snow filled picture laugh.png

  2. If you have a full (not provisional),licence you can convert with minimal testing (eyesight and reaction ) they will give you a licence for motorcycle only if you UK licence has that entitlement if not you have to do the full test.

Motorcycle and car licenses are 2 physically separate pieces of plastic. Your can have one without the other.

  3. I had similar repeated disconnect/reconnect about a week ago..when I looked at my modem settings I saw that somehow

the ADSL standard had been changed to T1.413 changed it back to ADSL2+ rebooted modem and the problem stopped.

TOT are running new fiber cables in the Na-Jomtien ( Ambassador hotel )

area so probably fiddling around with their equipment installed on the electricity poles which wont be helping matters.

  4. That explains why your XBMC 12.3 is not redundant yet, because you don't use it for the same purpose as the majority of Kodi users.

Yes I agree with you on that.

But there is an amazing amount of content out there you are not getting.

Latest version of kodi with exodus and salt add-ons,

I'm not sure what I'm missing...no interest in sports

if the internet goes down Ive got 1222 movies and 69 TV shows (1679 episodes ) stored on NAS server to watch + added bonus absolutely no buffering.

  5. When I first started with XBMC on the original Xbox, I tried loads of addons most of which never worked or broke very quickly

this trend continued until I got a Raspberry Pi and installed version 12 ( at that time the newest version )

addons kept breaking so I decided to just stick with 1 for streaming that being PVR IPTV simple client with a homebrew playlist and EPG

for the Filmon channels + a few Thai channels.

Movies and series are played back from my network server through XBMC.

  6. I have a couple of Android boxes. Both came with 4.2 Android and I was able to update via the factory website.

    Update to what?

Stable Kodi 17 isn't available yet, when it becomes available a Android 4.2 box will not be able to install it, and a few months later addon developers will stop supporting Kodi 16 same as most of them since several months don't support Kodi 15.2.

At that point your box will become a paper weight.

I'm still using XBMC 12.3 Frodo final on my PC and Raspberry Pi they aren't paper weights yet...whats the fascination with having to run the very latest update ? ( along with the latest bugs ) ..if it aint broke don't fix it thumbsup.gif

  7. Thanks for the info Naamblar2014 you are getting all but 1 of the Pattaya/Siricha/Rayong MUX's ( CH 45 @ 666 Mhz )

strange that I can only get 2 MUX's thanks for confirming they are transmitting on 650 and 778 MHZ

626,658 and 594 Mhz are from the Bangkok transmitter which explains why the signal is marginal

I remember when they first started Digital TV in the London ( UK ) area having the same sorts of problems until they completely switched off the

analogue signal the digital one always seemed to be problematic.

  8. John. Take a look behind the village. Work started last week! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I did have a look and yes they have done some dredging... will it be enough ? water is already quite high.

there are more 2 or 3 management companies in our estate, some are more diligent than others.

  9. If you're friend is no longer in Thailand you will need to ask him to send you a signed copy of the exit stamp from his passport, its been discussed here that the exit stamp will be excepted in lieu of the residence certificate (which cant be issued as he isn't residing in Thailand anymore)

  10. We got flooded out by the Vamco storm last year

they haven't come and dredged the canal that drains towards the sea in the Ambassador hotel area for quite a while

    post-2109-0-37598000-1442564467_thumb.jp

so when the rain does hit I suppose we are in for more of this

some unlucky residents at the Baan Balina village where flooded for more than a week !!!

time to stock up with sand bags and renew the insurance policies.........

  11. Naamblar2014 are can you check to see what frequencies your tuned to and post them on here please.

I'm still getting channels on these frequencies but its far from reliable

    5 MUX's from Bangkok
    on CH 26 @ 514 MHz
    CH 36 @ 594 Mhz
    Ch 40 @ 626 Mhz
    Ch 44 @ 658 Mhz
    Ch 52 @ 722 Mhz
but only 2 MUX's from the Pattaya transmitter on
    CH 53 @ 730 Mhz
    Ch 56 @ 754 Mhz
the signal from Bangkok is quite variable in strength but even the signal from Pattaya can quite often just disappear for a few seconds.
I don't know if its an interference, transmitter or receiving equipment problem...its really quite annoying so hardly ever watch it now.
  12. The Thai economy has expanded, and what one has to presume are the only two positive numbers have been mentioned.

But exports down again; this time 5.6% decline.

Must be a slow day for good news.Tourism up, thought they don't say by how much. Odd, they normally seize on any good news by trumpeting the numbers from some high place. Maybe this is another positive expansion which only looks like a contraction? Who can fathom the Thai approach to statistics.

    Winnie

Where you get this figure about 5,6% export decline?

    from the original post

The export figures of May 2016 however shows 5.6 percent decline
