  1. If you notice this is a sub forum titled "off the beaten track" there is some scope to voice differing opinions here that is still not tolerated in the other parts of the forum.
  2. Did they ? Link to the original article which is not behind a paywall by the way https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07/25/covid-vaccines-saved-fewer-lives-than-first-thought/ and a link to an archived version which is also not pay walled https://archive.ph/0fVnD Covid vaccines saved far fewer lives than first thought, a major new analysis has concluded, with researchers criticising “aggressive mandates”. Last year, the World Health Organisation (WHO) claimed jabs had prevented the deaths of 14.4 million people globally in the first year alone, with some estimates putting the figure closer to 20 million. However, new modelling by Stanford University and Italian researchers suggests that while the vaccines did save lives, the true figure was “substantially more conservative” and closer to 2.5 million people worldwide over the course of the pandemic. And the real kicker here below "The team estimated that nine of 10 prevented deaths were in the over-60s, with jabs saving just 299 people aged under 20, and 1,808 people aged between 20 and 30 globally."
  3. There is a staggered 4 way junction that I suspect is the scene of this accident no traffic lights and who cares about the road markings they often shoot across the main road from either side roads...during the day its often a big jamup with no one wanting to give way.
  4. Well they might be or they might not be but whatever they all need thorough, transparent, rigorous, lengthy safety and efficacy trials before being offered to patients...not forced and coerced in a tyrannical manner as we saw in recent history.
  5. IFR Infection Fatality Rate of "Covid" ™ ® © was known within the first few weeks and low for most of the population..the elderly and already chronically ill needed protection, the rest of society/world should have just been allowed to get on with it..shutting down the whole world was a big "mistake" causing huge damage, pretty sure doing "nothing" would have been a better choice.
  6. shame about the face as the old joke goes. Kronenbourg 1664 is another one.
  7. TBH I disagree with you and him ...shutting down Thailand's tourism industry caused much more severe damage than just doing nothing...which is what the whole world should have done...nothing.. except tell those who might be afraid to take some extra "precautions" to protect themself..shutting down the whole world caused much more damage than the "Covid virus " ™ ® © ever did.
  8. There are some studies suggesting that smokers are less susceptible to the "Covid virus " ™ ® ©
  9. Yep I remember that..+ Thais pulling up their masks extra tight and giving foreigners an extra wide berth during the height of the Covidiocy. Funny how things go full circle in that its now acknowledged that a likely scenario was the "virus" did originate/escape/export from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill perhaps in collaboration with the Wuhan institute of virology and a few others to cover the whole world...but still no reason to describe foreigners as any more dirty or any more likely to spread "disease" than a Thai would be... nose picking is still a Thai national sport...but does seem to have become less popular ? Anyway I hope/suppose that Ganja will become "legal" again so maybe not everything is bad.
  10. Somewhere in Sattahip ??? 2002 Na-Jomtien near the Police station 2023
  11. Lazada has over 4000 results make sure you get the exact model number..once you have the new screen you can attempt to change it quite fiddly or pay a phone shop to fit it probably best if you have never done the job before. https://www.lazada.co.th/catalog/?q=samsung S21 screen
  12. His stolen black suitcase might have turned up in the Bang Phai reservoir
  13. The bad bit is that its far too hot for tents on Pattaya beach and sometimes there are very strong winds which would cause more havoc also the much vaunted toilet facilities have not materialised ( yes portable van at entrance to Walking street is not enough) Tents only make any sense in the winter months up north in the mountains.
  14. Ha ha yes it is quite hair raising at times.
  15. Obviously an autocorrect mishap and obviously I may be slightly "dyslexic" for not spotting it ? where /were still gets me every time.
  16. Ohh well, takes all sorts I suppose... clutch and gears makes for an exciting/ engaging ride...probably not long till "self driving" motorcycles.
  17. Yes I bought 250g from the same store..I would say the taste is better than Typhoo one cups and on par with (perhaps even better) Yorkshire gold but obliviously a different taste.
  18. I said that I can get 2 mugs of tea from a single teabag when brewed in a pot 1 pot 1 bag = 2 mugs of tea...after that I dispose of the tea bag not reused as there is not much life left in it...though I suppose if you saved 4 or 5 bags they might make another weak cuppa. There was a running joke that the Scouser at work dried out the tea bags and used them over and over again 😝
  19. Yes but that happens with most bikes...you can of course get a local shop to modify/contour the seat foam to fit your personal tastes for a very modest price which helps a bit...but yeah a multi hour marathon ride would leave most everyone a bit saddle sore. There was a thread on here about some bloke riding all over Thailand on his Wave for hours on end must have an "iron butt" 😋
  20. Don't you find it incredibly boring to ride..just twist and go ?
  21. I appreciate a good strong mug of "builders" tea especially after an English breakfast fry up. Worst ever tea is that disgustingly weak Liptons that the Thais like to try and pass off as tea at restaurants and hotels..thats yucky.
  22. Ok I'm a bit off in the price (inflation) yes it would have to be a second hand Wave to be half the price. Of course people are free to buy whatever they want..just saying that the Wave is a very good cheap reliable bike that will last a lifetime if cared for a little bit and should be high on the list of candidates IMHO.
  23. I have some Yorkshire gold, one bag in a pot gets 2 big mugs of strong tea..I do let it stew for at least 20 minutes with tea cozy on the pot. Typhoo one cup when they are available takes 2 bags to get a slightly weaker brew in the same pot. I believe Typhoo were taken over ,still in business but do seem to have disappeared from most (all ? )of the shops in Pattaya...still available online but at 2x price.
  24. Buy a Wave 125i for half the price lasts for ever but cheap and easy to fix if it does go wrong also more fun to ride and very fuel efficient. IMHO Those high tech gadgets will go wrong pretty quickly..and a big no no to LCD/TFT screen assuming its the dash console display not good for a high intensity UV environment like Thailand
