  1. How does a body get 'cut in half' when hit by a car?

What a strange question . DO YOU WANT A RE-ENACTMENT. Sheeesh.:realangry:

    Settle down, Ace.

No, I don't want a re-enactment. I've never heard of someone being cut in half after being hit by a car---certainly being run over, but not hit. Keep in mind that the top half of the body actually ended up inside the car.

As far as I'm concerned, the question is not strange, but the result of this accident is.

  2. two photos

Two photos? I thought I read on the immigration website that it was one.

Now that I think of it, can someone provide an updated list of required documentation to bring to immigration for a re-entry permit?

For example, which pages of passport must be photocopied? My understanding is the photo page, visa, departure card and most recent entry stamp.

The fee is 1,000 baht, right?

And finally your passport and a completed TM-8.

  3. I'm fed up with my current ISP and am thinking about switching over to CAT CDMA wireless, and was wondering if I could get some feedback. I'm about 2K from CAT's tower, and my understanding is there aren't many people sharing the signal, so in theory I should be able to get decent speeds.

Also, are there any user restrictions on their service? For example (and speaking in a purely hypothetical manner ), if someone were to want to download a torrent, would they be able to do so, or would access to this type of download be blocked by CAT?

And on a somewhat unrelated note, I would appreciate it if someone would recommend which USB modem I should choose.

Any comments or suggestions regarding recent CAT CDMA experiences would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  4. I've been looking for a nice wall clock with Thai numbers for a while, and haven't been able to find one in my area. It's not nearly as easy as you would think. Very cheap clocks (100 baht) are readily available, but nothing of higher quality (approximately 1000 - 1500 baht). The best one I could find online had the Thammasat logo on it.

Next week I'll be in Bangkok for a couple of days and would appreciate any suggestions on where I could find a clock like this on Sukhumvit.

    Thanks.

    :)

  5. Two things not on that "To Do" list...

    1. Spend time in a Thai jail.

    2. Flee Thailand to avoid more time in a Thai jail....and will now be arrested at any border crossing.

Yet Galt accomplished both of those things during this whole spectacle.

I wonder why he neglected to include those on his list?

And by the way, I'm not a fan of Stickman, either.

  6. If any of you locals have participated in the Queen's Cup Hua Hin Triathlon, I would appreciate it if you could post some information about your experience.

    For example,

    Is it well organized?

Any recommendations on going out in the first wave or second wave?

Are jelly fish a problem in August?

What is the bike course like? Many hills, and if so how steep?

Are mp3 players permitted during the run?

Hotel recommendations near the race site?

    Overall impressions?

    Thanks!

    :)

  7. My dogs cornered a cobra (about 1 meter and a half in length) this evening, and as their are many kids in the vicinity, I made the decision to try and kill it. It seemed to sense my plan, because it quickly tried to go under the house. Unfortunately I was only able to chop off the bottom quarter of the snake.

Any thoughts as to whether it will live or die? Or come out angry?

Just to be clear, I took no pleasure in trying to kill the snake, but felt it was the appropriate thing to do considering all the kids and dogs in our neighborhood.
