  1. Isn't that reason enough?
  2. It turns out I had installed Microsoft's own PC Manager as an alternative to CCleaner on Win11, and it comes with its own AV as well as clean up utils. Uninstalled it as I prefer CCleaner and the dual AV warnings stop.
  3. How many aircons? Our house has 1 or 2 aircons going 24 hours and the last bill was 8000THB.
  4. Yes thanks. I now understand its normal to have multiple instances of MsMpEng.exe running on your computer because Windows Defender uses multiple processes to perform different tasks. I am wondering if the warning is simply a false warning as my PC seems to run normally otherwise. I will wait for Win11 to update in future as I already have all latest updates installed. My warning is exactly as shown on this discussion thread below, and there is no conclusion but to send a log report to MS. Just noticed these warnings in the past few weeks on my PC. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-periodic-scanner-says-i-have-2-antiviruses/a1c47457-e9d1-44c2-9970-b9a6aab165fa
  5. I have noticed recently windows keeps popping notifications up on my desktop saying "Windows Defender Periodic Scanning is on" and "you're also using another antivirus program for active protection" but I've never installed another antivirus onto my PC so not sure why it is saying that? Anyone know? Also if I search my drive I see I have THREE different versions of MsMpEng.exe in different locations? Is the warning referring to that and how do I remove the duplicate Windows Defender and how is it there in first place? C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Platform\4.18.2211.5-0\MsMpEng.exe C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Platform\4.18.2301.6-0\MsMpEng.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe
  6. Yes, for AIS need to continuously top up to get an extra months validity. With True or DTAC just text the 6 months extender code for another 6 months validity for about 15THB fee, which I find easier and less to worry abut once every 6 months.
  7. "most iconic music icons in Thai and international industries!" lol
  8. I assume based on what Foxx said, is what Bradiston means by "Convert THB from your THB bank account here, into your £ Wise account "?
  9. Interesting. This is for a pension fund, so maybe a police cert is enough. Will ask them this week when I go there.
  10. Interesting. May I ask where or PM info please? That's cheaper than I was quoted.
  11. Yes, I have been given a similar list that also included police officer, so I was just wondering if anyone has done it at Bangkok Police HQ, I am going there next week anyway as I need a police clearance for a visa to another country, so I will ask when I get there. Its not a big deal for me, and I didn't want to pay the higher private lawyer fees, as I guess most Thais in other professions don't like certifying things like this.
  12. I have been sent an Evidence Of Identity Form from a UK fund company that I need to complete to receive my due funds. I can provide both a current signed passport and an internet printed out bank state as evidence which I have but they say it must be signed by a lawyer, notary public or a police officer amongst others. My question is since the notary lawyer charges me around 3000THB for this service in Sukhumvit Bangkok, could I get it done at Bangkok Police HQ, near Central World, and in English cheaper?
  13. I started with Bangkok Bank, because I was in Bangkok! A daft reason I know, a bit like when people chose it since they have seen a bank in their home country. Familiarity I guess, but pointless. Then I switched to K-Bank (or Thai Farmers Bank as it was called at the time) and I have never looked back, far easier to deal with them especially since the internet access became available. YMMV.
  14. Still the best option for me. Been using it for many years. You get a login and pwd for a service and it also works without the 'box' on PCs, mobile devices so you can watch TV anywhere with suitable apps installed. Not sure any Smart TV's operating systems allow side install of such apps, but could be wrong, never tried, life's too short.
  15. NatWest let me keep my account there, and I am none of the above. No annual fees either.
  16. Wouldn't there only be two months with activity, when they add the interest on every 6 months? FWIW my friend did his ret ext at CW in February and just used bank book photocopies as usual with no issues.
  17. I top up my Rabbit Card via K-Bank KPlus app. It doesn't need Line afaik, but I have Line and find it useful to see my online Rabbit Card balance.
  18. My DTAC SIM allows for making and receiving calls over Wi-Fi. This includes the banks OTPs by SMS to anywhere in the world, even places where there is no cell phone coverage but you might have an internet Wi-Fi signal perhaps from a satellite link. Cost is same as a local Thai call, so incoming bank OTP's are all free.
  19. Would be interested to read someones real experience, on Twitter today people saying Zone 2 already closed so wondered if the re-entry permit office is accessible?
  20. Was reading a news headline "Zone 2 screening points on the west side will be closed from 12am on April 27 to 12am on May 24. Zone 2 screening points on the east side will ..." so how does the RE-ENTRY Permit process work now? I always used to get mine in Zone 2 before?
  21. I doubt it. The pipe was capped off and never used since the house was built. Maybe a design fault from the beginning. We decided to try it for first time ever and it overflows as the drain is too slow. I visited a Mr DIY shop, they have all the drainpipe/washing machine accessories but not the seals as in o/p. I therefore suspect they are not popular and don't work that well anyway, so will pass. I simply bought an extension drainage tube for the machine instead, that reaches another outdoor drain, not very elegant, but until I can get the guys in to see whats wrong with the in room drain it will have to do.
