Well I am slighlty at a loss to see how uBlock Origin is any more fiddly than the method of saving all videos to a USB from another web site! FWIW I have uBlock installed and it sorted itself out, nothing to do from me and no ads on YouTube and the videos all load.

Electricity may exceed ฿4 per unit next year

I agree you didn't realize. Conflict and uncertainty always increases prices of basics world over. Supply disruptions, insurance premiums all go up whilst more money is wasted on bombs that could have been spent on something more beneficial. -
Thai Sim Short Codes for data packages
Digitalbanana replied to Chivas's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
I got this AIS 300THB / month deal unlimited SIM. I keep the balance under 300THB and don't get charged until I need it again, occasionally top up card 5THB to extend validity. Had the SIM over 2 years now and only used it a month out of every 6 when traveling. Speeds as good as the towers nearby. Where I am upcountry I get 130Mbps but in busy Bangkok it slows to 10Mbps and seems to be capped at that. The billing changed to 150THB/2weeks or 70THB/1week so need to keep balance below 70THB to avoid auto renewal when not used. Now AIS allows for billing to go negative so they billed me 150THB when I had a balance of 130THB and gave 2 weeks internet when I only wanted one week for 70THB and resulting balance of -20THB. Still a cheap deal tho. -
Light coloured or dark coloured car choice.
Digitalbanana replied to Asquith Production's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
So you stand outside in the sun looking at your car? Our car is light colored as its cooler inside when we drive in the heat and save on air conditioning costs. 99.9% of the time we are inside the car and cannot see much of the outside of it, otherwise we are somewhere else and not looking at it all. -

Lol, range anxiety leading to charge rage. Who'd have thunk it. Back to my gas guzzling SUV to head off on a 900km drive with the family, piss stops all coordinated to maximum efficiency, no need to worry about ordering a vacant fuel pump the night before.- 266 replies

VPN service expats use in Thailand
Digitalbanana replied to docinbangkok's topic in IT and Computers
Agreed. I posted this question on the official Reddit VPN forum and the question got banned. >>Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/(insert name of your favorite VPN service company here). >>Moderators remove posts from feeds for a variety of reasons, including keeping communities safe, civil, and true to their purpose. I was simply asking what I asked here? Prices are only 3$ / month for first 25 months then move to 8$ if you extend each year. I prefer to re-sign with a new email account to counter the deception. -
VPN service expats use in Thailand
Digitalbanana replied to docinbangkok's topic in IT and Computers
Just looking at today's VPN prices at one provider.. an example below where the first 25 months are half the price it seems. * So are people opening new accounts every 25 months to avoid the doubling of fees by simply extending? Whats the business model here, why would VPN companies expect people to pay more for being a loyal customer and extending membership? -

KBank International Transfers

So we must say YES to Income from working in Thailand otherwise transfers are not allowed and to avoid being pestered further for a WP what transfer objectives are allowed? I am trying to transfer to an overseas investing account, but that option is not shown on the menu? What do you recommend to allow multiple trouble free transfers for someone on a retirement extension? -
I have never done a transfer OUT of Thailand in my life, but it looks easy on the KBank web site and seems to cost 250THB to send any USD equivalent amounts - I am trying to send to the US. The online process specifically asks to check a box stating "Income earned from working in Thailand" and if I don't check that it will not process the wire. So I simply check it and it looks like the wire will go, but I haven't tried yet. Question: Why do they ask I check this box, is it just to show the receiver all taxes are paid? I don't really know where the money came from - its been collecting over the years in my account from all over the world including working in Thailand at times years ago? Do people simply check "Income earned from working in Thailand" to enable these transfers to go even if they never worked in Thailand?
