  1. A confirmation that the action is to protest CP All’s business practices, as is written in the OP.

As of the 3rd quarter 2014 there were 7965 7/11 stores in Thailand of which 3514 were owned by CP directly smile.png

So third time lucky its a franchise,coffee1.gif

  2. In fairness, i do not think boycotting is about 7-11 per say, it is more about the parent company CP who does bully smaller business.

CP does not only 7-11 but much much more.

7-11 are franchises, so people are boycotting wrong people. If they really wanted to boycott, perhaps wiser choice would be to stop buying products produced by CP, instead of individually owned stores

Wow that was a good find. Wait it says that in the OP

The proposed boycott of 7-Eleven stores from May 7 - 11 to protest CP All’s business practices seemed to get the mega-conglomerate’s attention,

Good to see yet another smart ass resurrected, I guess its the triple digit IQrolleyes.gif

Here familiarize yourself with CP business,

Again for the gifted ones with triple IQ, 7-11 is a franchise, individually owned, so what ALL is boycotted?blink.png

What attention? CP basically said "up to you"

I have something for you lemoncookie

  4. Because they aren't fired. They keep their rank and paycheck in exchange for not ratting out the big fish.

That is a bit premature.. they are transferred away so they cant interfere with the investigation. Who knows what will happen if they are found to be guilty.

Unless of course you expect stuff to be crystal clear right away.

Is that the norm in the USA to just throw someone in jail and find out later if they are guilty ? Where I come from people are put on non-active so they can't come to work during the investigation. Here they transfer them out before the investigation commences.

In your wish to bash Thailand logic seems to escape you.

You can bash Thailand all you want if the investigation does not yield any convictions (and I will join you then) now its a bit premature.

I think what he meant was that they should be suspended without pay pending investigation.

This is the norm in USA or anywhere else, instead they are being transferred keeping the paychecks and the ranks.

May be found guilty some years later, but why in the mean time grant them full privilege?

  5. Love the logic. First someone orders all the food, if prices were not displayed , one would think checking the price before ordering would be normal.

Anyhow, orders , eats up and then complains it was expansive.

Worst part is, complaint is taken seriously and more time wasted to "investigate"

May be I should complain go go bars overcharge in comparison to beer bars or Thai bars

  6. Thanks for the help. I think the inter hospital seems the best option.

    <snip>

Unless your are a fluent Thai speaker your "points" are merely what you think he said to her or what she told you he said and anecdotal at best

I have used PIH numerous times and have found them to be more than fair and competent

As far as dual pricing is concerned that too is a myth. I just sent the GF there for a full "female" physical and she was charged exactly what it states in the price list freely available at the front desk. Just go in and ask to see it

I am glad you found them to be competent.

Also puzzled you missed the big sign about pricing, its right there in nice big writing in both languages.thumbsup.gif

  7. Sorry do not recall hospital name, but private one in Siracha, starts with P

They actually have dedicated department to female health.(like research center etc)

Suppose to be one of the best in the country

I'm pretty sure you are referring to Phyathai Hospital in Sri Racha. Yes, they have a very large department dedicated to this. It's on the same floor as the dental department, which I have been to a number of times.

The best thing about this hospital is Gavin. He'll take care of you for sure! Great guy. Prices are pretty good also.

    Thats the one

  8. It would be a waste of time and money.

Why not invest this money into upholding traffic laws, ie police actually doing their job and fining people for illegal uturns, double parking, driving in between the lanes, turning when turning is not allowed, driving on the wrong side of the road, and list goes on.

Once people start to get daily fines, they will learn quickly not to break the traffic rules or at least pay more attention

Ohhhh wait, half of the the police do not know traffic lawsgigglem.gif

  9. Lies & people trying to save face.

Friends telling friends they've won at court is rubbish

To the OP, how much have you lost?

    Let's go from there.

So basing it on bar stool banter in other words

    No

It's based on experience & all lies people tell to make themselves look bigger.

So, how much are we talking? Come on, divulge

    So...... bar stools

  10. Sorry to say this but you are a self opionated ass hole

But I am sure you have heard that before.

Like looking in the mirror huh?gigglem.gif

I am happy to know exactly what I am, and, I make efforts to improve myself, you, however, seem to have reached your true potential in life.

    Ass hole

As long as you happy, it all that matters, Do not worry what others thinkthumbsup.gif

  11. Ok

Can you tell me why there has been restricted alcohol sales at times in the day at 7/11 for years now ?

or have I been so pissed I cant read it on the fridge door in thai and English cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif:cheesy:

now come on, you said you run a hotel and restaurant you forgot to tell me you were a comedian as well.

    wai2.gif

What does 7-11 sales have to do with restaurant ? blink.png

Perhaps little less Chang to keep up?facepalm.gif

  12. So you have an a license as legally registered entertainment venue?

Irrelevant what i have as this thread is not about me. What is relevant is your assertion that hotels do not fall under entertainment venues, where as hotels clearly do.

  13. But there is a law that you as restaurant operator should be aware of.

    http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/restriction-liquor-sale-time-takes-effect-today

Alcohol beverages can now only be sold from 11.00 am 2.00 pm and from 5.00 pm 12.00 am every day.

An announcement was made today by the Prime Ministers Office on the 2015 law regulating alcohol sales which takes effect today.

At all other times, alcohol sales are strictly forbidden with the exception of at international airport terminals and legally registered entertainment venues which have laws that strictly govern the periods they can operate daily.

The new law however takes into account every type restaurant and other venues selling alcohol.

Thank you, well aware of this new law, however can you find what falls under registered entertainment venue?

  14. Sorry do not recall hospital name, but private one in Siracha, starts with P

  15. OP, I think its down to you budget.

Personally i do not like Toyota, not because of its reliability, but because its a boring car and every dick, tom and harry has one.

Nissan is ok, but resale would be a problem, not only money wise but people here just do not really like it.

Isuzu, in my opinion is much nicer and good in all aspects.

Ford Ranger, personally i like it, but Ford has been getting bad rep and reviews. But again, personally i like it.

Mazda, i think is great value for money.

Mitsu, is a personal choice. I use to own one, about 4 years ago, truck. Did not like it, boring. Now have Pajero, love it.

  16. DW... The OP asked if there where success stories and it's value in going through this process ! Now the OP knows there is ... I do agree with you on a couple of points it could be and I'm sure has been a quagmire for many and probably, definitely we are in the minority but that wasn't the question... I was told too forget it also but decided to take my chance and that's all I'm saying in my reply my friend.. I'm personally not an American and hadn't had any experience in court proceedings prior but don't know about the other members on this thread.

In honesty there are no success stories so other posters are just making things up for bravado as they've lost money too and saying they've got it back is like the million + baht being in their bank account again rather then that house in Issan on that plot of land that was theirs but never really theirs.

You state with certainty there are no success stories.

What are you basing your assertions on?

  17. Thanks for the update Mid.

The wheels of justice move very slowly in Thailand.

Why could they have not reached this decision years ago? What new evidence has been submitted to account for this volte face ?

I've been to long prem as a visitor and can only think that to be banged up anywhere if you are innocent must be real mental torture.

In this case much worse, as he was on a death row

  18. As a farang, it is advisable to avoid litigation in Thailand. The deck is stacked against us.

Most Thai defendants in civil cases are judgment-proof... if they aren't when the trial begins, they will be before it is over.

    Bullshit!

A friend of mine, a foreigner sued a Thai for unpaid work and won.

Another friend, also a foreigner, sued a Thai for unpaid rent and broken contract on commercial property, 3 years in court and also won.

I sued biggest bike retailer in Pattaya and won. Ok, i did not win the full amount i wanted, but won enough to satisfy me

    Bullshit?

    My post was sound advice.

Any farang who initiates civil litigation in Thailand is stepping into a quagmire.

Your stories - assuming veracity - are exceptions to the usual outcome.

You were lucky, or maybe you entered the fray with alacrity and fought to the bitter end.

If your posts are anything to go by, you sound like an alpha male... a type familiar to all Americans from school, from work, and from the military.

A court of law might be your natural habitat where you exercise your abilities and dominate strength, much like the gladiators did in the arena.

For most people, that is not the case; and anybody who takes legal action in Thailand with the expectation of a significant reward needs a check-up from the neck up.

Stop talking out of your backside, giving out false information and advice based on rumors and what you heard in the bar.

NO different to bull rumors that foreigner always at fault in case of accidents. Sure if you act like a dick, you would be.

  19. That's strange, I am pretty sure restaurants can sell at any time

    No its not.

Fuji at bigC has not sold alcohol for the last 5-7 years between 3 -5 pm ( could be a bit out on the time )

in pattaya, where you been for 5-7 years ?

but have a look around BigC and you will get a beer,

    1. I do not spend my days in Fuji or Big C to know what happens every day

    2. I do not drink during the day at all, so do forgive my ignorance for not knowing who sells booze day time

    3. Big C is NOT restaurant, so it would have to comply with law of no sales at certain times

    4. I own a restaurant and a hotel, and have been selling alcohol 24 hours for past 12 years , without any problems, because to my knowledge ban only applies to "raw" sales of alcohol, it does not apply to restaurants or hotels.
