  1. I visited the Summer Palace of Rama 6 near Hua hin, the rooms are very small , no aeration at all it's near the sea, maybe the breeze from the sea could bring a little bit fresh air, but really , I thought the small rooms were very hot, and I think that living here was very difficult but your explanations are good , surely people lived outside near the sea
  2. It depends where is the room : the room where I have my computer is 41 degrees in the afternoon, full south, second floor, I tried to live only with fan, but the air of the fan is hot, so I bought an AC, and in the afternoon it's now ok in the other pieces of the house, fan is enough , at night, too normally, I like fan more than AC, but 41 degrees in a room direct under the sun, it's impossible to stay I wonder how in old times ( in Thailand and other tropical countries ) they could live without electricity ( fan and AC )
  3. Thank you for your response 🙂 I think Thailand will drop this story
  4. Hello, we are in February and no news about taxes return is it the same as last year ? last year, many discussions and this year, nothing do we still have to fill a tax return and pay taxes ? 3 or 4 monts ago, it was told that the Tax Revenu was preparing a new rule , with noting to pay for us who remit money to Thailand since , nothing ; what to do ? Tax revenue will give informations before the end of march or it will the same than last year ?

  6. Not USA really, just their a$$hole president how can one person have so much power ? why democrats opponents can't say anything ?
  7. Same for me, 15 years in Thailand and I am chilly ( may be it comes with the age, too )
  8. because sometimes diet is not enough, for exemple when you are on pre-diabet ( 100-120 )
  9. There are different stages of diabetes; moderate diabetes does not require insulin. A good diet and one pill a day are sufficient.
  10. Aforek posted a topic in General Topics
Hello big question for today, be sure I am not crazy or delirious . Is destiny predetermined? Is everything just chance? Do we feel like something is pulling the strings, as if we were puppets? I had 58 years ago a very strange experience and I wonder if we have free will ( Google translation , the French expression is " avons nous le libre arbitre ) ? Is something ( or someone ) decide for us ?. What are your ideas about this ? i have noticed that AN members have ideas for everything 😀
  11. i am happy here, not desperate; so I am not concerned by this topic
  12. French Polynesians speak a French that is very understandable to people from mainland France (unlike Quebecers), but they roll their "r"s, which sounds strange to me, being French myself. P.S.: I thought only Americans didn't know geography; but I was wrong, some Australians don't either.
  13. Still speaking of Covid ? you are 5 years late many other subjects to speak about
  14. Same here, upcountry : maybe 1 % have a mask
  15. I tought it was a scam, because banks and other serious firms don't call you " sir ", but write your name and surname scammers don't know them

I have seen the same or maybe the same sort of picture, taken in Vietnam during the war ( the guy on the picture could be a soldier ) They like to hide under quiet, discreet places: stones, planks, flower pots, clothes. I saw a video of a young Indonesian woman hunting them to eat them after cooking. She caught them, barefoot and by hand, and because she got many, she had a very big smile: incredible!

Yes, the one on the picture is very long, never seen one like this centipedes can be in the house, bed, gloves, shoes , bathrooms, around houses, flower pots , anywhere ...
  18. Aforek replied to ancharee's topic in The Lounge
You have never seen one in Thailand ? they are everywhere, even in cities last week, I see 4 of them in my compost : very dangerous and painful animal I have killed already several of them, the animal I fear the most here with the cobras I live upcountry but you find centipedes and snakes everywhere, even in Bangkok
  19. Where is it, I didn't find it ? Yes, I think ( and hope ) it's only the cable, I removed it immediately electricity didn't stop, the outlet from outside is absolutely normal
  20. Hello, I didn't find a special forum for "electricity", so I write here I plugged a cable that connects a computer monitor to a wall outlet, which I use every day without any problems. This time, there was a "bang" and a loud flash. I immediately removed my hand and saw that the cable was damaged on one side. The question is: is it the cable or the outlet? Note that the computer monitor no longer turned on, which is why I wanted to test it on another outlet. thank you
  21. Many many years ago, I went with bar girls, some times travelling with them in Thailand at this period I was interested in Thai language and I can tell you that my biggest teachers were bar girls and they were happy to speak with me in Thai now I don't go with bargirls, I can speak and read Thai ( not fluent ) and because here it's upcountry, Thai people are delighted to speak Thai with me
  22. True, but in this case, what is better ? pay nothing in hospital or pay in pharmacies ? It's very expensive for health insurance, but if pharmacies make bills accepted by health insurance, I will do it because my health insurance has financial problems for instance I pay one Tenelia pill 43 bahts, it's very much for my health insurance which reimburse 90% of this price
  23. My insurance reimburses me 90 % of medicines and I wonder if pharmacies make a bill accepted by my insurance : to present to my insurance everything on the same document is more convenient
  24. 5 days ago, Wise just sent me an e-mail to ask me to confirm my address in Thailand, that's all so I did it and they answered that maybe in future they may ask other informations
  25. 😀😀 I am not American, I see all this from outside , it's not beautiful but if I could have voted, I would have chosen Kamala
