Jomtien handles online extremely well. Get approval (or rejection) same day, usually within 3-4 hours.

Used the electronic payment system to make first quarterly payment due in April, as a test. Worked perfecly. All options now open, but prefer being on autopilot and having withholding taken out of the monthly benefit, rather than making a payment every quarter. The less I gotta think about and do, the better.

I've gotten this email reminder every time over the past year, so it's not new. But as we all know...every province can be different and usually is, as there is almost zero consistency here in Land of Inconsistent. It's a nice feature and was a pleasant surprise/shock the first time.

Decided I wanted to have some withholding tax deducted from my monthly SS benefit payment. Cannot be done online or by phone (my address on file is Thailand), so had to snail mail form W-4V. The choices on the form are rather odd at 7%, 10%, 12% or 22%. Decided on 10% and "snailed" to the SS Division at US Embassy in Manila. Had about half-a-month till next benefit date. No taxes were withheld from that next payment, but 10% was withheld from the ensuing payment the following month. ????

I agree. Like Udon Thani city alot. Spent considerable time there in 2021 and planning another visit sometime this year. Good bars, shopping, restaurants, girls, massage, hotels. Got it all EXCEPT...no sea or mountains. Nice to have one or other, if not both.

Thai Smile have an upgraded (much more money for not much in return) few rows at the front of the plane. The seats are slightly more roomy and you get to board first (usually). Luggage is off-loaded first, so arrives on the carousel first (usually).

Was hoping they would go thru with this greedy, money grab madness. ALL for anything and everything this place concocts to shoot itself in the foot.

I know the law and what a TM-30 is and what it's needed for. I'm not in any way disputing what the law says, but rather the claim that any cheap guesthouse can and will do a TM30. This is simply not the case...at least not in my limited experience of nearly 30 years here. Many laws and stipulations in Thailand, of which many Thais are unaware or don't care. Even if aware...quite a few are ignored, disregarded, ill-enforced or not at all.

Many small hotels/guesthouses don't do them. Staff haven't even a clue to what is being referred❗"DM...alai-wah"❓????
