Went into Bangkok Bank near Jomtien Immigration yesterday to do this very thing. The security guy handed me a queue ticket. There were about 15 people before me and the numbers were not advancing. 3 people had enough and departed. I walked outside to the guy and told him I just needed a photo taken. OH go upstairs, he said. Was upstairs and finished in 15 minutes. Needed PP and bank book. Be sure to state your purpose for being there, otherwise will waste your time waiting for number to be called (which was looking like an hour minimum), THEN you will be directed upstairs. Had I not mentioned it, would have been there a totally unnecessary extended period instead of in and out in 20 minutes.

With immigration, nothing surprises...but causing confusion is certainly their forte. Sudden and random changes, differing from province to province and even at the whim of individual officers. Nitpicky shifting of goalposts. Wouldn't surprise me if some do it just for "fun" and/or spite. My 90 day is due 1 June. Annual extension also next month, which is always done with trepidation, regardless how many times previously. Haha
