Yes...a realist. Naturalist. Lifelong atheist. Everyone is on that "death clock"...EVERYONE. Had 2 friends die at 23 and 24. Auto accident and cancer. Fave uncle died at 35...auto accident. Thai gf murdered 2 years ago at 32. Lived my entire life to it's fullest. Never lived to work, but worked to live. Had an awesome 35 year career, which afforded me abundant travel around the world plus tons of time off. Retired at 59, despite still liking the job. Life is short...and for some much shorter...live it full. But not everyone is the same. For some it's work, kids, family, church. For me it was none of those things. More like booze, babes and rock-n-roll. Also nature and photography.

Banks connected to Jeffrey Epstein to face sex trafficking case
Skeptic7 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not quite the same. You were required to monitor and be the liquor police as well as bartender. In our case, there was NO onsite drinking at our retail store. They could buy a bottle stone cold sober after work. Drink themselves into a stupor elsewhere, then kill someone driving home. A sales receipt found in the car or on their person could be enough to come back against and implicate the store. Of course we could and did refuse sales to the obviously intoxicated, but not everyone shows it the same. Not always obvious. Anyhoo, back to the OP...agree, money grab. -
Banks connected to Jeffrey Epstein to face sex trafficking case
Skeptic7 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Ludicrous, this. But that said...not surprising. Remember working at a liquor store when I was 20 in the USA. Suddenly we had to start being extra careful about selling our products. Of course we checked ID (legal drinking age then was 18), but lawsuits had been filed against liquor stores for customers getting drunk, then killing or injuring people while driving intoxicated. It was outrageously concluded that the liquor stores could somehow be to blame as well. So we stopped issuing receipts, unless customers specifically requested one...which they rarely ever did. That way it couldn't be proven where the alcohol was purchased. Problem solved. Highly doubtful these banks will be found guilty. Perhaps individual employees, but not these giant bank names. Total money grab, just hoping for a pretrial settlement. -
B800k savings? - get your tax refund
Skeptic7 replied to 10years's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That "stolen" B5000 isn't worth even an iota my time, but thanks for the info. Good post. It's just another Thai ripoff money grab. They know many/most foreigners, like me!, won't bother going thru that tedious and time consuming BS process and they reap many free millions of baht. Only surprise is it took them so long to come up with it❗ -

It's just The Bloviating Buffoon's rallying cry to his mob of dumbass minions. Slimy Donny The Menace. When will his band of idiots wake up and realize they are being conned by this whiny man-brat?!? That these gullible goons can't see through this vacuous, transparent moron is astounding. -
Wise transfer alternatives
Skeptic7 replied to bang saen guy's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Not so. You can phone Wise and speak to a rep. Called them once about an issue (on their end) last year, which was preventing my transfers. Got straight thru to a helpful young lady in The US and she checked on it. Told me to give it a couple days to remedy and she was correct. The US number is still correct. Just verified it...tho they are closed on weekends. Not sure about the UK number. -

Similar amount for mine...$5.21. Told my US address caretaker to shred it. Not worth the time or expense sending here. -
Has happened to me a couple times. Strange...but it's better than ordering a specific brand of clothing of a specific color...then getting a different brand and the wrong color. That's happened multiple times. At least the size and style were correct.

Visa Agents in Pattaya.
Skeptic7 replied to NONG CHOK's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No, he's not. He's coreect. They (Jomtien) want the "bank letter" @DrJack54 defined perfectly. They scrutinize every page of the bankbook(s) for the past 12 months AND want copies of those pages, proving the account had the proper funds at all times during the past year. If they are not satisfied, they will send you back to the bank to order a detailed 12-month account statement. -
The rules are...there ain't no rules. Inconsistent, random and arbitrary from province to province at best and even officer to officer at the same office at worst. It's simply astounding how they just seem to come up with endless new nonsense, even after thinking heard it all by now. NOPE. They are never at a loss for silliness.
