  1. This is over the top nit-picking BS from CW. In the numerous years I had to deal with them...always found the entire experience dreadful. Baditude, ignorance, resentment and disdain in abundance. As for Bangkok Bank, they need to seriously update their IT. A 12-month or even longer statement should be printed out in a matter of minutes at any branch. Their networking is horrendous. I have banked there for 22 years and overall mostly satisfied. But when it comes to something as simple as a 12-month statement, they are so far behind. There are other shortcomings, but will leave those for another thread. I hope you get it sorted out, but am highly doubtful that the email print out will suffice. Hoping it does and if so, will be pleasantly surprised...but not at all optimistic. Keep us posted.
  2. Some tourism's back. Time to start recycling these tired old fake stories. Sad attempt to polish some of the tarnish.
  3. Not in Patts & Jom. 555
  4. Should be optional for the religious, NOT imposed on businesses and customers whom don't subscribe to such subjective and silly nonsense. Ridiculous stuff, religion. ????
  5. For the former type of rental "sa-moke" is a prerequisite!
  6. Going in 2 weeks. Hope my rental isn't a smoker!????
  7. Another blatantly greedy and idiotic ripoff scheme by a bunch of greedy, xenophobic idiots.
  8. Nope. I've used Agoda & Booking often and for years. I always book rooms which have the free cancelation option. Have cancelled numerous times without any problems.
  9. Yes. They are slow. Usually 5 business days, but never taken more than 6 business days in my experience. Wise is FAST. Same day sometimes or 2-3 days max. MG rates have always been same or better than Wise and lower fee, but must check often as they are slow to update rates up and down. Limit is $10,000 but believe can do 2 per day. Not perfect but suits my needs and best value at .99 cents per transaction.
  10. If you have a US bank account that MoneyGram accepts, MoneyGram is best. Better than Wise for Americans. Bank account ACH transfer is only a .99 cent fee (was FREE previously) with MG and their exchange rates are excellent. Sometimes can get better than market rate, as they are slow to update their rates. Otherwise, Wise is the next best option. Of course this depends on myriad circumstances such as the amount and frequency of transfers. But definitely check out MoneyGram. I used Wise (TransferWise) for years before stumbling on MG last year. Haven't used Wise since. I have 3 US bank accounts and only 1 of them was in the MG system, but definitely worth a look for us Americanos. ????
  11. It wasn't murder, but I get your meaning and agree. He should have been jailed a LONG time ago. Money talks and life isn't fair.
  12. Good to be in the former and not the latter!
  13. Yes...always take the THB option. Your CC bank will give you a better rate and you'll save yourself some money over choosing USD
  14. The blatant greed and utter stupidity of this "cuntry" is staggering. Amusing Thailand.
  15. Crystal balls are always foggy. Why not average it out over the next 5-6 months starting now? B36+ is a level most of us thought we may never see again.
  16. Grim my ass!!! Blissful reminder to me! Especially suffering the past decade and a half of ultra-strong, bulletproof baht. Cha-ching! ????
  17. If other suggestions don't work out, try Bangkok Buddy in BKK. She (Tanya) was able to help a friend with visa/extension with Korat address.
  18. Tell that bitch to GTFO!!! You are being used, threatened and blackmailed. She's got a Thai dude and he's banging her brains out while you're working and he wants paid. Send her packing ASAP and BEWARE your safety when you return. These Thais don't take kindly to being refused and are well known for taking revenge of the highest magnitude.
  19. Been a "flash crash" today for USD v. THB. The 1-day XE chart shows USD falling off a cliff. Something's cookin' and it stinks. ????
  20. They're gonna need more than worthless prayers. The .75 hike next month is a lock and .5s after that.
  21. Total load of ???? headline. THB was at 36.48 in October 2015 and well above 36 in early 2016 and 35.81 on 1 January 2017 against USD. Lie-Land.
  22. Before my time. First arrived in 1992, so you've got a decade on me. Those were the days. The Post lost it's edge when they got rid of Trink. Even those little news bits became lame and uninteresting. The new editors were bringing the hammer down. The only PC World I had anything to do with was a subscription to the computer magazine back in the 90s and 2000s...and the shop!
  23. Most but not all. Knew at the end would be "anything else would be superfluous" or similar. The Night Owl and the random News blurbs from around Thailand (and surrounding) were my favorite parts of The Post back then. Both really raw and raunchy...down & dirty. Enjoyed it. Thanks for writing.
