I completely agree with you. As far as most of us are concerned, the most important sentence in the article is: 'Also exempt will be those who have been taxed in a foreign country that has a standing Double Tax Agreement with Thailand'. And that I'm sure will mean all of us on this forum. Those who would like to see which countries have a DTA with Thailand can ask ChatGPT. The list certainly includes my country, the UK.

Kindle Users – which (country-specific) Amazon site to you use?
Moonlover replied to ReloTH's topic in General Topics
UK and Australia if you're wanting English language material. I use the UK site. You can only find out if there are any price differences by sampling products like for like. I doubt if you'll find much difference, so probably not worth the effort unless you've got tons of time on your hands and nothing better to do. Like reading a good book. ???? -
As you deemed not to answer my earlier post I looked up the answer for myself. I am now 'smart enough' to know that you cannot fit a mushroom plug without a special tool. So please desist from posting false information. Thank you. How to repair a puncture using plugs
-
So come on. Just for us 'thickies', how do you use them. (This is not just idol curiosity as I do have tubeless tyres on my bike and I did have a puncture recently)

Don't be too alarmed about snakes @Franck60. Yes there are plenty around but you'll rarely see them. They tend to hide away from humans and won't harm you unless provoked into defending themselves. I've lived here in the countryside for 9 years and walk off road just about every day, but I've only seen around 10 in all that time and even they, are slithering away into hiding in the undergrowth. There is one scorpion that can be harmful, but that is only bad as a bee sting. (at least that's what I've been told) I've seen Thais in the villages will pick them up. They eat them! I live in the north east and birds and butterflies are what I see the most of. Many birds migrate through this region.

Issue here is not about Japanese seafood. It's about the Liver Flute (Clonorchis) which infests the fresh water lakes and rivers in Thailand, particularly in the north east, where the fish is caught and prepared without any precautions. Liver fluke cannot survive in seawater therefor it cannot infect seafood.

The reason that I draw a parallel between lung cancer, cirrhosis of the liver and Fascioliasis (the disease caused by liver fluke) is that all three are caused by human behaviour and are preventable. However there is a difference. Whilst the first two can be largely prevented by abstention, one can carry on eating koi pla and still prevent the disease by regular screening. (See my earlier post regarding my wife and her family) The health service does offer screening and treatment for free and efforts are made to raise awareness. But as the old adage goes, 'you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot force it to drink'. You can't force folks to place a stool sample in a jar and take it along to the clinic for screening. As I previously quoted: '.....he encounters resistance from the older generation. Dr. Khuntikeo laments… “They’ll say: ‘Oh well, there are many ways to die'. Therein lies the problem. Denial.

Again! Tourist’s Shoe Gets Stuck At Airport Moving Walkway
Moonlover replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Ok, I know now why I could see the lace. It had been undone in the middle photo. that clarifies the matter thank you, but does it really matter? What really caused this incident was not the shoe, or the lace or even the travelator. It was chummy who didn't lift his foot up at the right moment to leave the travelator that caused it. There's a clear sign there that says 'End of Travelator'. It's there for a reason. He's just lucky that there isn't another amputee around here today. -

The photos clearly indicate otherwise. How did they manage to retrieve the shoe so easily? Which I might add, looks remarkably undamaged to me. Witness's are notoriously unreliable. Ask any policeman. -
20,000 deaths a year isn't really a lot anyway. And it is mainly the stubborn elderly who succumb to this disease as mentioned in the article. '.....he encounters resistance from the older generation. Dr. Khuntikeo laments… “They’ll say: ‘Oh well, there are many ways to die'. (which is true of course) My wife loves koi pla and is not afraid to eat it, but she is well aware of the problem and she and her relatives are tested regularly at the local hospital. So far, in 9 years we've been living here, she has tested negative. Personally, I think this a bit of a 'mountain out of a mole hill' issue. There's one thing for sure. They are not to stop the rural Issan folk from catching and eating the abundant free food that is all around them in the lakes and rivers. I also enjoy it, but my fish is always cooked for me. Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow ye may die.

Again! Tourist’s Shoe Gets Stuck At Airport Moving Walkway

It looks, to me as if it's the shoe lace that has caught in the comb. Look closely at the middle photo. Why do you think that the woman is miming? She's possibly a friend or partner that is helping to release him. She's clearly a fellow traveler, not an airport official. It's actually comforting to note that emergency stop system worked as it should do and the travelator stopped immediately. As has already been mentioned these incidence are easy to avoid if one takes care when using elevators and travelators. There are even clear warning signs, as can be seen in the photos. -
Oh really? 'As directed by the Constitution, a presidential candidate must be a natural born citizen of the United States, a resident for 14 years, and 35 years of age or older'. https://www.loc.gov/classroom-materials/elections/presidential-election-process/requirements-for-the-president-of-the-united-states/

I've been printing off the same set for at least 3 years now. And my mug shot photos a couple of years old now as well. -
Danish Tony divorced his wife and married Thai transwoman Saiyan

They no doubt had, what a number of same sex couples have here, a 'village ceremony'. It's not a legal union of course, but what does that matter? Many folks here do it this, both straight and gay. -
Crane Collapse in Sukhumvit 23 Kills Engineer, Injures Two Workers

I recall seeing bamboo scaffolding in Singapore back in the 70s and 70s. -
Most of us have to supply 2 copies of a marriage extension because one copy has to go divisional HQ for final sign off. (Ours are sent o Khon Kaen) However, isn't the office at Chaengwattana Immigration also the HQ of division 1? That might explain why only one copy is required. (If this found to be correct of course)

Crane Collapse in Sukhumvit 23 Kills Engineer, Injures Two Workers
Moonlover replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Yes you're right. Reviewing the pictures again, one of two things happened here. Either a (supporting) cable failed and the jib dropped onto the building. ( @tubber's theory) or the operator swung the jib into the building, which could explain why he 'fled the scene'. -
Crane Collapse in Sukhumvit 23 Kills Engineer, Injures Two Workers
Moonlover replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The load is still suspended so it wasn't a 'lifting cable' that snapped. It was more likely a support cable, which could indicate an anchorage point failure.
